RVD delivers another amazingly funny and beautiful,y written romantic comedy with Infraction. This is Book 2 in her Players Game series and I loved every page of it.
Infraction is the story of Kinsey and Miller but..you also get a hit of Jax’s story thrown in too! I loved the multiple points of view in these books as the story is so much more than just the two main characters telling the story.
Even though I would classify this as a romantic comedy there is still a touch of drama thrown in too. I needed a few tissues with parts of this book but RVD ensures there is a bit of comedic relief thrown in to help get you through them.
I really hope we get to read more of Jax’s story eventually!
This is a fantastic second book in the Players Game! I love how Rachel weaves the stories together but also is able to separate them into their own story and voices. This is the story of (Quinton) Miller and Kinsey. We were introduced to them in Fraternize (Book 1 of the Players Game) series and I couldn't wait for their story. The chemistry between the two was white hot and you can see that they were made for each other! The secondary characters were fabulous and the dialogue between all the characters will make you laugh out loud, it will make you cry and it will make you cheer for more from this talented author!
This book is about our beloved Miller Quinton (Football Extraordinaire) and Kinsey, Jax's sister. What I really loved about this book was the side story of Jax! We got to see him find a little happiness - though I'm not going to give away who he finds happiness with. I love the trope of pretend boyfriend/girlfriend because it's one of those storylines that opens up to the real thing. The author made this book even better than the first book. Usually, that isn't the case. So, this was my Instant message while I was reading the book:
"Okay, so you know when a book is so good that you don't stop to even type a message saying that it's so good? Yeah, that's this book!!! Miller and Kinsey have some serious chemistry together, but I can't stand Andy the dickhead lol!! and JAX - Gosh, I love him. Major props for comedy too!!"
Skip down to the middle of the book and it's getting dramatic y'all and I mean that in the best way...OMG, I mean we find out soooo much good stuff about Kinsey and why Jax is so protective. We also find out that Jax and Kinsey's dad is not doing so well, and by this time neither am I - literally I was having a little breakdown. This book had all the feels for me. Here's the rest of the conversation:
"I haven't been able to breathe for an hour!!! Thanks so much Rachel! I'm sitting here snotting all over the place and throwing kleenex by the handful in the trashcan while my dog tries to dig them out and eat the paper...little turd that she is."
Needless to say, this was one of those books that stick with you and you don't want them to ever end. It took me a good two weeks to get out of a book slump and read another book because no other books measure up to this one. I have yet to read another book that really speaks to me like this one did. Again, if you're a fan, superfan, or just new to this author - read this book, but read the first one to get the full effect because if you don't then it just doesn't have the same meaning and you won't understand a lot of what's going on.

This book evoked so many different emotions from me but in the very best of ways. I do not read a lot of new adult/college age romance but I do like Rachel Van Dyken so I will read hers. I enjoyed the first book in this series so I am very glad I read this one too. Miller & Kinsey had me rooting for them all the way. Sometimes funny, sweet, angsty and steamy, this book was packed full of all the good stuff. I love a good fake relationship that turns real. All of the characters were awesome and made the story that more enjoyable. Throw in a wonderfully well written story line that touches on some harder and tough to handle real issues and you've got yourself a winner.

Rachel has done it again and created an amazing story for Miller and Kinsey, a wonderful follow up to Em's and Sanchez love story. As usual, it put a smile on my face and had me craving for more of Rachel's awesomeness.
Though I do believe Miller needed to do a little more groveling in order for Kinsey to forgive him, the story flew perfectly.
I would have loved more detail about Jax romance with Harley's, the few chapters dedicated to them left me wanting more. It was a nice side story that would have work perfectly as a full novel, especially with Harley's grams. Gotta love Rachel's way to portrait an cool-upbeat grandmother.
Reminds me of Gramma Nadine :)
Kinsey and Miller have a one night stand in Vegas that doesn't end well at all for Kinsey. She gets sent packing to Europe for several months by her brother, Jax, who is the QB and teammate of Miller. Kinsey is beyond hurt that Miller not only let her go, he helped pack her bags.
Flash forward to the start of a new football season, and Kinsey and Miller find themselves having to interact again. Miller knows he screwed up. The death of his mother and not wanting to get emotionally attached to another female lead to some bad decisions on his part. When Jax asks Miller to pretend to date Kinsey so that her ex-boyfriend stays out of the picture, things get complicated quickly. Miller and Kinsey still have sparks. Miller knows he is betraying Jax when he starts seeing Kinsey again but he just can't help himself.
Kinsey is keeping secrets from Miller and has no intention of letting him know the truth any time soon. She has health issues that she feels would send Miller running. Jax is overprotective to the extreme and Kinsey knows he has her best interests at heart but a girl can only take so much micromanaging before she snaps. She knows Miller may bail at any moment and still takes the risk.
We not only see Miller and Kinsey finding their way, but Jax also gets knocked on his rear end when he meets Harley. Things do not go smoothly and Jax makes some big errors in this book. His heart was in the right place most of the time but he was an adult who should have known that you can't control everything in your life. Life has a way of spinning you in directions you never saw coming. I did like how he had suspicions of what Miller and Kinsey were doing but was distracted by Harley enough to let them go. His stepping up for Kinsey and their past was brought to light and it was a surprise. It was commendable what he and his family did for her.
This book did deal with some difficult emotional scenes and is not all sunshine and roses. I did like how the story was woven and the painful process of letting someone go was written in a realistic way. I have enjoyed both books in this series and would recommend them, especially to fans of Rachel VanDyken. I was pleased to have received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.
Miller and Kinsey were made for each other. I laughed, cried, sighed and yelled while reading this book. I confess that I didn't read book two first. I didn't get lost at all. Although I have to admit that it could have made this one even better if I had knew all the characters in advance.
I was graciously provided an arc of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
After the Bucks won the championship game in Vegas, Kinsey Romonov found her way into Quinton Miller's bed and Miller found his way into her pants. Twice. As the old adage goes, 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas'. This especially needs to hold true for Miller, because if his best friend and quarterback, Kinsley's psychotically over protective brother, Jax, finds out he slept with his sister he might very well kill him.
Fast-forward to the beginning of the season, Kinsey's abusive ex is working out with the team and Jax's over-protectiveness is in overdrive. He suggests his best friend, Miller, fake-date his sister, Kinsey, to protect her from her ex.
Miller and Kinsey's connection is undeniable, and when life unexpectedly sucks for the Romonov clan, Kinsey finds herself leaning on Miller, and Miller finds himself not wanting to let go.
I found the characters to be immature and annoying at times, but then I would remember they are 22, so I would forgive them. I really enjoyed their story more than I thought I would, and devoured it in less than 12 hrs.
Kinsey Romonov, head chearleader for the Bellevue Bucks, is a spitfire with an over the top protective brother. She has overcome alot in life and just wants to be able to do her own thing. Her brother Jax has made her off limits to his teammates, but after a steamy night in Vegas that might be a problem.
Quiton Miller, Jax's best friend and teammate, has it bad for Kinsey. Miller considers his friends his family and would do anthing for them. He doesn't know if he can risk opening up his heart to Kins)ey with his friendship on the line and his heart has already been through so much in the past.
When Jax realizes he has too much on his plate he asks Miller to fake date Kinsey so he has one less thing to worry about. Miller agrees becuase he can't let his friend down and he hasn't been able to stop thinking of Kinsey since Vegas. "A girl with brown hair, mesmerizing eyes, and the ability to cut a man down without even using her words." Kinsey agrees becuase she can't say no to her brother and can't resist her pull towards Miller. "...the hottest tight end with a tight end made for sin ... I’d seen that tight end up close and personal— they had no idea the type of sinning a girl would do when faced with that— and his perfect lips. I shivered then mentally strangled myself until my mental self lost all consciousness."
Miller and Kinsey both have to work on personal issues, insecurities and honesty in order to find out if they can be more than friends and do more than fake date.
Infraction by Rachel Van Dyken had everything! It was fun, sexy, and more emotional than I expected. I will admit I shed more than a few tears but would read it all over again in a heartbeat.
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley for an honest review.
This was a quick read for me and that's because it was so good!
I'm going to start by saying I LOVED the H here.
I also liked the h and in this book she was perfectly capable of handling this H, I loved how it all played out.
However, when I compare it to Fraternize, I prefer the first one.
Great series.... and SOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT ONE!
When Miller is asked to step in and save his buddies sister from her ex and pretend to be her man he can't help but think it's divine intervention, even though he knows taking anything past the "pretend" stage is completely forbidden. Having an excuse to spend time with Kinsey sounds like heaven... but also could lead to a lot of trouble too!
With Kinsey's life falling apart around her she is in desperate need of a little R&R and something to take her mind off things for a bit... and spending some quality time with Miller sounds like a good place to start. With her ex coming back around and trying to reclaim a place in her world she turns to Miller to help ward him off... and things quickly reignite and get nice and toasty between them!
Infraction is an emotionally rich and steamy little tale that is sure to satisfy every romance readers appetite! This gripping read took a hold of me from the first page and held on nice and tight until the last page was swiped... WOW what a read!! The relationship between these two started off under false pretenses, but quickly started to develop into something a whole lot more... a seriously sexy something more... and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching it all play out. Highly recommend this one, it will take you on one hell of a emotional roller coaster... my advice, buckle up and hang on tight, cause your world is about to be rocked!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
2.5 stars
This book was a weird miss for me. I couldn't get into Miller and Kinsey. I thought it should have been more about them, instead of Jax’s overprotectiveness of Kinsey. It felt off at times,

A great read! Really enjoyed the storyline and the main characters. Miller and Kinsey have chemistry they are trying to deny. It makes for a hot, and a little bit of angst kind of read. It’s sweet and funny with an emotional element. I️ highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Netgalley for the E-Arc copy of this novel. Great, steamy romance. For those who haven't read this author before it is part of a series that can be read as a stand alone. It is worth saying that these novels are quick reads with lots of fun, romance. I like the sports setting and the other characters.
Loved, loved, loved this story!!! I had to read it in one sitting!!! It was heartbreaking, funny and hopeful all in one.., while I’m not a fan of 3 characters in one story, somehow this one seemed to work out perfectly!
I’m in totally in book boyfriend heaven right now. Caught my attention from cover to cover and didn’t let go. So typical of Rachel Van Dyken books, just love her books. One of my favourite authors of all time. This book is impossible to put down not that you would want to. Rachel Van Dyken blew my mind with this book. Has everything that I need and want in a sports romance book and more. You won’t get another sports romance book for your reading pleasure than this one I can tell you. Everyone should have a Rachel Van Dyken book on the e-reader, if you don’t then you need to as your missing out on such fantastic, brilliant and amazing stories by this talented author. Would wholeheartedly recommend this book
Holy wow! I laughed, I cried, and cried some more. I didn't think it could top the first one, but not only did it top it, it blew my mind! If you haven't read the first in this series, read it, then read this one, then read them again. So freaking good, couldn't stop reading! I really hope there's a third book because I need more! Congrats Rachel, you did it again. I haven't read one book that was bad of yours, keep them coming!
I loved this one even more than the first book. After reading this I am happy Miller didn't end up with Emerson because I really love him with Kinsey. This book made me laugh and cry. This book is another reason why I love Rachel Van Dyken's books so much. She is a great writer and storyteller. I love these characters and I felt so emotional reading this one.
😭😭 I don’t even have words right now because I’m still crying! Rachel is an expert at giving you all the feels with her books! I swear I’ve cried reading everyone one but at the same time I’m always laughing my butt off and smiling at the same time! Miller and Kinsey’s story was magical, heartbreaking, hilarious, sweet and had me swooning over Miller’s words! This was a beautiful story and I read it so fast because I couldn’t put it down! I loved getting to know this gang of characters through these 2 books and I hope Rachel has more of them in store for us!! Phenomenal story by a great author!!
