This book was missing something for me. I felt like the actual story of Miller and Kinsey got lost in the story of Jax’s overprotectiveness of Kinsey. I wanted a slower resolution for Kinsey and Miller, but instead we get one that happens pretty early on. The angst level was pretty low.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Kinsey. We kept being told she was strong while being shown she was weak. I’m gathering people are calling her strong because of what she went through with Anderson, but I honestly didn’t see it. There really isn’t conflict or resolution in regards to him. Being that he is Jax’s whole reason for wanting Miller to date Kinsey I think it was a missed opportunity.

Miller was a pretty good H. He seemed like a really great guy who was trying to be better. I don’t really have much to say about him.

I really felt like Jax took away from Kinsey and Miller. I don’t see what the point was of having his perspective. The small story we got of him deserved to be expanded on in his own book.

This book lacked a lot of development. The storyline could have been stretched and have more details. We could have had more of the MCs and their budding relationship, but instead it became about everyone else.

I can’t say I recommend this book, but I’m probably in the minority here.

When we last left our players we were in Vegas where there was a surprise guest in someone’s bed. Deciding the old adage “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” are words to live by, Miller and Kinsey agreed to tell no one and Miller promptly shoved Kinsey on the nearest plane to Europe for the summer. It turns out that absence may indeed make the heart grow fonder and when Miller is requested by his teammate/Kinsey’s overprotective brother to “fake date” her upon her return, things start heating up . . . .

“You’re familiar with the kind of rides I give, and when this whole friendship ting goes to hell and you actually ask me to kiss you – to touch you – you’re going to need to buckle up, sweetheart, because it’s going to be rough.”

I’m going to address the pink elephant in the room real quick because I am nothing but brutally honest at all times. Jax, the brother??? I got less of a “overprotective” vibe and more of a Donald and Ivanka one #eww. And believe me when I say the big reveal didn’t make things better. That being said, Jax and Harley’s story being thrown in was an unexpected treat and it helped reduce my squicky reaction. Miller and Kinsey were just as adorable as Emerson and Sanchez were in Fraternize, the angst (brother lovin’ aside) was real life shit people should be angsty about and when we finally reached the halfway mark and got down to bidness?????


It was guuuuuuuuuud.

LOVE RVD!! I really enjoyed this continuation of the Players Game Series. Loved getting to know Miller better after meeting him in Fraternize. Enjoyed learning more about Kinsey and her relationship with Jax. Also loved the Jax/Harley/Harley's Grandmother storyline. Will there be a third book? Will it be Jax and Harley? I hope so! Didn't love getting my heart wrenched out of my body during this book though. My husband couldn't understand what I was so upset about. This book absolutely gutted me. That's what I love about RVD!!
