As a cyclist myself, I enjoyed this deep dive into Phil's life and quest for cycling excellence. I don't know if it would translate well for non-cyclist readers, but it was an enjoyable read.

An interesting book. I don't much follow professional cycling, although I'm aware of the dark sides of it in recent years. While this wasn't written to be a tell all, it was a nice look at trying to stay among the sport's elites on the tour when the sport is under significant scrutiny.
It was also a nice look at an average person and how he could do this - without having the typical resources and perceived genetic ability of the elites. It shows how to make the sports more accessible and what you as John Q. Public can do. A good read.
