If you've seen the Hallmark movie than you don't need to read this book. It followed the movie exactly and was a nice reminder for as I wasn't able to watch it this year.
The time travel and seeing a character learn how to deal with modern technology is always interesting to see.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I hope to be able to watch the movie next year.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I watched the movie before reading this book, but that didn't ruin it at all. I love this story plot and the writing style. I loved the movie, but the book is so much better.
Loved this book just as much as the movie! Probably one of my favorite Christmas books! Always look forward to more books from Hallmark Publishing!
This is such a wonderful Christmas story. Such a sweet story that draws you in & holds you until the very end. A great Christmas delight.
Two love stories from two different time periods. I didn't think this was your typical Hallmark movie/book - it was much better. Sometimes Hallmark - in my opinion - can be too sappy and too easily lead to a hea. This book had real life stories as well as romance. Hanna had such a great attitude about her loss of her husband and traveling to the future. Loved Toby. A really sweet book that tugs at your heart. Now I want to see the movie.
A lovely Christmas tale, so cute and entertaining. It's makes you feel the holiday spirit.
Recommended.
Many thanks to Hallmark Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC
This is a very cute book based off of a Hallmark movie. It takes place in WWII following a nurse named Hanna who's husband has been lost at war. After a snow storm Hanna is knocked out at when she wakes up it is in modern times and everything has changed. This is a very charming tale!
Journey Back to Christmas reads just like a Hallmark Christmas movie. It is sweet and predictable. The reader knows the story has to end happily ever after, and it is such a pleasant, feel good ride from beginning to end. When I finished I wanted to know more about the characters in the book.
The book is better than the movie. It keeps you reading and entertained all the way through, highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Based on a Hallmark movie, Journey Back to Christmas is a heartwarming tale sprinkled with a touch of magic. Hanna is a touching character who finds herself stranded during a snowstorm in 1945. The next morning, the strangest thing happens to her: she ends up in an odd version of her hometown in 2016! Can she really be traveling through time? Or is it just a vivid dream? As the story unfolds around her quest toward the truth, she can count on the help of a kind policeman, his family and even a mysterious library owner whom she may know from her “past”!
What I really liked about this book? It is not your typical Christmas feel-good story; the two timelines add an extra layer of depth to the intrigue. The female lead, Hanna, is trying to find her way back home (to another time!), all the while learning an important life lesson: even ordinary people can have a tremendous impact on the lives of others around. I thought it was a nice, refreshing move from the more traditional narrative we’re used to in this genre.
Journey Back to Christmas is a sweet, lovely story conveying a beautiful message about core values. Love, family, friendship and the importance of small, but meaningful acts.
Although it is set at Christmas time, I believe you can easily treat yourself to a fun, light read like this one all year round!
The movie Journey Back to Christmas was great and the book version was fantastic as well. I will read every book Hallmark prints.
Journey Back to Christmas is a great book. The book is well written with a good plot and cast of characters. I enjoyed the author’s writing and will be looking for mo of her books. I highly recommend this book.
I loved this book it kept me entertained till the very end! I would definitely recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this e-book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was drawn to this book in part by the cover which features a young woman with her hair done in a style from the forties. I am very interested in stories that connect in some way to the Second World War, and Hanna Morse, the main character in this story has just that connection - a young nurse who at the end of war is grieving the loss of her husband and trying to find some reason to go on. Set just before Christmas when the whole town around her is celebrating, Hanna just wants to dwell in her misery but she still has kind thoughts for her patients and a desire to do what is right even at personal cost. In the process of one such good deed, Hanna is caught outside in a terrible snowstorm having slid her car into a ditch. At risk of losing her life from hypothermia, she makes her way into a shed where she shelters as a comet streaks across the sky. Next thing she knows she is awake in her home town, same but so very different. Little does she realize that she is now in 2016.
This book reminded me in many ways of the movie "It's A Wonderful Life" with a touch of the Wizard of Oz thrown in for good measure. I haven't seen the actual Hallmark movie that it is based on but really enjoyed the positive outlook this story showed me. Hanna discovers that people are kind no matter what year it is and she also learns that in the small things she has done, she has had a huge impact on the lives of many. One small stone has ripples that reach out beyond what she can see.
I was a little surprised by the story and how it progressed but the title should have forewarned me. This is a feel good book with a happy ever after ending and no graphic scenes or language. It's a very good book to curl up with and read on a cold night.
Based on a Hallmark channel movie, this book was a sweet story that was clean and a quick read.
A lovely and sweet Christmas read that I really enjoyed. Love the Hallmark movies. Perfect cosy reading for holiday time.

This was a really sweet book that embodies the movie that was shown on Hallmark perfectly. I love the message this book sends about what the true meaning of Christmas is. I also loved that this isn't your usual romance.
Journey Back to Christmas was one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies. The book was so good. A perfect Christmas read.
This is the last book that I read in 2017, which is interesting. I did not watch the Hallmark holiday movie, though it is waiting for me on my PVR.
This book seemed to be a romance novel from the first couple of chapters, but it really was about something more. It's about all that can be forgotten over time, as the years pass by and how sometimes getting rid of traditions is not the best thing.
Hanna is a lovely woman, trying to be positive after moments of feeling sorry for herself.
Sarah is stubborn, but interesting in her own right.
The family that comes together, both blood related and otherwise, in this book is one of love, compassion and a need for a new way to relate to each other which they do find in this.
This is a Christmas tale, and yes, it is a bit cliche, but isn't that what makes it good? I think so. Good, quick reading, filled with warmth.
