I really enjoyed The Oddfits, and I was very much looking forward to the sequel. The Oddfits had been a delightful surprise. This sequel, however, I gave up on without finishing. I did not find it compelling in the same way. I may return to it in the future and try again, as I did enjoy visiting the world and characters of The Oddfits.
I had planned to read the first book in this series before I read this one, but that never did happen. I feel I would have understood this book better if I had. I will not give a rating deduction for this as it was my error. I am simply mentioning it for those who are looking to read this book and have not read the first. In this, the second book in the Oddfit series Murgatroyd Floyd and his mentor, Ann Hsu, are given the task to find out who has committed three Questians over the last three years. Questians are those who are tasked with discovering and mapping territories in the More Known World. They are Oddfits who came from the Known World, our world. We learn a lot about Ann Hsu and the history of The More known World especially Flee Town and Flee Town residents. We also learn about Murgatroyd Floyd's mentor Uncle Yusuf. Overall, I enjoyed this story and will look to read the first in the series in order to get a better understanding of Murgatroyd Floyd and The More Known World. Ann Hsu's character buildup was very detailed and enjoyable to read. It added a lot to the person we are now seeing Ann has become and also why children often oddfit children go to the More Known World.
