From the first page of Claiming Bailey, I was hooked in! Bailey & Nathan’s journey wasn’t easy but worth it in the end!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Just okay. I've really tried to like Ms. Stoker's writing and I keep hoping with each book that I will. The synopsis always draws me in and I continue to be disappointed.
Sexy, alpha nerd with a heart of gold and a protective side like no other.
I love Nathan Anderson and his brothers. This is becoming a series I'm just in absolute love with because of the realism as well as the familial bond that grows with each book.
Jumping into Claiming Felicity right now.
If you haven't read a Susan Stoker book, you're late to the game. Jump on the Stoker train.
Bailey and Nathan sure made an interesting couple! I had been wondering about Bailey since she was first mentioned, and I was hoping that we would find out more about her. I loved that we got to read about her story! Bailey has had a difficult past, but she finally got tired of it and wanted better. I loved that she was tough and strong, and she had the motivation to keep going. Nathan is not like his other brothers. He is their numbers man, and he is quite different from them. They were protecting him, but now he has chance to be a protector. Nathan and Bailey went together perfectly. I definitely recommend reading this book, and all of the other books in the series!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Well written story with nice storyline and plot. It flows nice of the pages and captivated my from start to finish. Great chemistry and passion between the characters. This book just caught me that much that I read it in one setting. I was in the world of the story. That is not often that happens but here it did.
The story has a mix of drama, danger, lust, love, pain, issues from the past and emotional ups and downs.
It has a slowburn romance between two people who have been hurt and have build walls because they do not want to feel anything. Nathan is just so loveable and a really nice guy.
Enjoyable and recommendable read.
Bailey Hampton will do whatever it takes to keep both herself and her little brother safe from the vicious Inca Boyz gang. Hiding out in Castle Rock, Colorado, is only a temporary solution until she can earn enough money to get out of the state altogether. But when she meets handsome security nerd Nathan Anderson, she discovers a reason to stay and fight for what she wants.
Ace Security’s Nathan Anderson has always been the “numbers guy,” not the man any of the firm’s clients look to when their safety is threatened. But from the first time he ran into Bailey, she never made him feel like less of a protector than his brothers. Nathan was attracted to the petite, black-haired pixie with wild tattoos from the start, and by some miracle, she seems to return his interest.
But danger stalks Bailey and her brother, so it’s up to Nathan to channel his inner alpha and find a way to end the threat to their lives once and for all—and he’s not giving up Bailey without a fight.

I was really hoping that the last Anderson brother Nathan would find the right woman for him. He is rather different from his brothers as Nathan prefers to fight with his brain and openly admits to being a nerd. Now Bailey is definitely his opposite with her knowledge of cars and tattoos yet he knew that she was his to protect right from the very beginning.
I actually found this book to be my favorite of the series. Well written with engaging characters, witty dialogue and an interesting plot. I enjoyed it as the tension both from danger and the heat between the characters builds up nicely. But what I really enjoyed was a couple of surprises which go to show how unusual a hero Nathan really is.
I do recommend this book to any of my readers who enjoy romantic suspense especially to any that following the Ace Security series. And if you aren't, well why not? There are some sex scenes but nothing that explicit and of course, there is violence so perhaps not for the younger readers.
*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.
I loved Bailey's story! I can not wait for Claiming Felicity
Nathan has been a bit obsessed with finding Donovan’s ex-girlfriend, Bailey. But she has hidden a bit too well, or has she?
Claiming Bailey is third in Susan Stoker’s Ace Security series. I really like Nathan. He isn’t as physical as his brothers. He is much more cerebral but no less worthy of respect. I love that Ms. Stoker gave us a geek who was more than comfortable in his skin. Meeting Bailey allowed him to gain even more confidence. I love his patience as he became Bailey’s friend first and foremost. I also loved that Nathan built a friendship separate and distinct with Bailey’s brother. I loved seeing Nathan break through Bailey’s defenses and show her how a real man acts. This story was sweet, loving and unexpected. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Stoker will take us next with the latest bomb she has dropped!!
Claiming Bailey is the third novel in the Ace Security series, but only the second one I've read (I don't know how or why I somehow missed the second book in the series, but I do plan to backtrack), and this one grabbed me from the very first page and held me captive until the last. It gets 4.5 stars from this reader.
The Ace Security series is about 3 brothers, fraternal triplets, the Anderson brothers, and this novel is centered on the self-admitted, nerdy geek brother, Nathan, and what a hero Ms. Stoker has given us! Unlike his siblings, he's not a gym rat, he doesn't work out, he isn't a handsome hunk of a man, nor is he very sexually experienced. What he is, however, is one of nicest, kindest, most patient, brilliant, and understanding heroes I've encountered perhaps ever.
The heroine in this story is Bailey, for whom the Anderson brothers have been searching. Because I missed reading the second novel, I'm uncertain how the Denver gang, the Inca Boyz got into it with the Anderson brothers, but we soon learn that they've been searching for Bailey Hampton, who, along with her younger brother, Joel, had, when Bailey was 14, linked up with the violent and abusive street gang and Bailey became tied to their leader, Donovan. She's been used and abused by Donovan and the other gang members for the past ten years, but it's only when she realizes that Donovan is prepping her brother to become an Inca Boy, and while Donovan is serving time in jail, that she grabs Joel and flees the gang and Denver, hiding in the town of Castle Rock ever since. I will warn you that there are a lot of scenes of graphic sexual, physical, and emotional abuse in this novel, and it's definitely a novel for mature readers. If those are triggers for you, I'd suggest you skip this novel.
Nathan is staring inside the engine of his old beater of a car in a supermarket parking lot when a short, tattooed, strong and sassy gal spots him, comes over and fixes his car in mere minutes. She's an auto mechanic and warns him that her fix isn't going to last, and hands him a business card from the auto repair shop and tells him to call for a more lasting repair. When Nathan turns the card over and sees the handwritten notation, "Ask for Bailey", he realizes that Bailey has just found him, and he's attracted to and intrigued by her. But Bailey is cautious, even though she believes that her evil and violent ex-boyfriend is in jail, she knows that he won't let her leave the gang, and that he'll be coming after her as soon as he's released, and that when he finds her, he'll most probably torture and kill her and turn her brother into a gang member. What she doesn't know is that Nathan and his brothers have been searching for her and that they know Donovan has already been released.
What follows is one engaging, deeply emotional and tender story, as Nathan tries to get close to Bailey, not just to protect her, but to understand, support and defend her. To say that she's hesitant to form any kind of lasting relationship with anyone after the abuse she suffered is putting it mildly. Before leaving the Inca Boyz, Donovan and his cohorts held her down and his "ownership" of her was unwillingly tattooed across her lower back. She's not proud of what she's been and done over the past 10 years and feels totally unworthy of kind, sweet, understanding Nathan. Nathan almost instantly bonds with her younger brother, who was also damaged by growing up around the gang. Nathan will settle for being anything he can for Bailey and her brother, and his charm, his patience, his kindness and helpfulness slowly convince Bailey that his friendship is one worth having. When Nathan finally tells her that Donovan is out, and that he and his brothers at Ace Security will help and protect her and Joel from him, although terrified and ready to run again, she stays, and as she does, her relationship with Nathan grows into more than friendship.
So, will Nathan and his brothers be able to protect Bailey and Joel? Will Nathan be able to form a long-term and lasting relationship with Bailey? Will Donovan find and hurt Bailey and Joel and exact punishment for her desertion of him and the Inca Boyz? Will Bailey ever forgive herself for linking up with Donovan? Will she ever feel worthy of Nathan's attention? For answers to these questions, you'll just have to read this un-put-downable novel of romantic suspense. I suggest that you read this series in the order written, although it can be read as a standalone.
My only issue with this novel, and the reason I gave it 4.5 stars rather than 5 stars is that the HEA ending seemed rather abrupt, and I was mildly disappointed with it. While at the outset, I assumed this was going to be the final novel in a trilogy, there's a very nice surprise waiting for you at the end of this novel, and I highly recommend both this novel and this series.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
Bailey Hampton didn't have the best teen years, she made a ton of mistakes but once her father died she realized the life she had built for herself was destructive and she needed to get her brother away from the Inca Boyz gang before it was too late. The problem is though the head of the gang wants Bailey back and he is intent on finding her.
Ace Security number man, Nathan Anderson is used to being alone. He has his family but he has a hard time connecting with people. When Bailey helps him with his car, he feels something and wants to know more about the beautiful woman with a chip on her shoulder. He quickly realizes that this is the Bailey that they have been looking for though trying to find information on the man they helped put away. Can Nathan show Bailey that he can be relied on and that if given the chance he can be the one she can lean on?
This was one of those books that you begin and don't realize you are at the end until the end. Fast paced and I liked that the story came off as realistic. Nathan is a man who is blunt and yet he is understanding about what haunts Bailey. I thought this was a fantastic read, looking for a good book you can lose yourself in. This is one to pick up.
I really enjoyed this story. Bailey was such a kickass character. Nathan was absolutely to die for. I want to know where I can get one of him. Joel is just your typical 10 year old kid with mature life experiences. The story was very well-written and fast paced. I didn't want to put it down.
Susan Stoker has a few romantic suspense series under her belt but Claiming Bailey is the first of hers that I've read. It's the third story in her Ace Security series, about a group of brothers who run a security company in Castle Rock, Colorado with an aim to aiding battered women and children. Like many books in a series, this particular story is written as a standalone romance but with salient details of the earlier books and plenty of scenes involving secondary characters. I'm not a stickler for reading series in order so I had no problem diving into this one. It's an entertaining and somewhat suspenseful read, with a sexy opposites attract romance.
Nathan Anderson is a quiet and intelligent man, more comfortable around his computer than people. Despite having the skills required to keep up the technical side of his family's security business, cars are a mystery to him. When he finds himself stranded in a parking lot with a dead vehicle, his rescuer is a petite, tattooed, female mechanic who sets his car to rights and makes his heart race in the bargain. She also happens to have the same name as a woman he's been looking for as part of an unresolved case.
Bailey Hampton escaped her gang life as part of the Inca Boyz with her younger brother but is always on the lookout for trouble. She expects her ex, Donovan, to be hot on her trail for abruptly leaving him, and the lifestyle she fell into. Taking care of her brother is now her top priority.
A combination of mechanics classes and self teaching has given Bailey the skills she needs to get a job at Clayson's Auto Body. When Nathan shows up at the shop and makes an immediate connection with her brother over his math homework, then asks her out, she is reluctant to accept until persuaded by her kindly boss. Nathan is the kind of guy she'd fantasize about being with if she thought she deserved a man who'd respect her. But when she finds out that Nathan and his brothers know of the Inca Boyz and in fact have been searching for her as a way to smoke out their leader, will she be forced to run again?
This story could be really depressing if you look solely at the upbringing of Nathan and Bailey. Nathan is part of a set of triplets. Their mother physically abused them all and murdered their father. Because of this, the boys learned to protect each other and have a strong bond. There are several scenes with the brothers, some of which delve into previous books in the series that also involve their nemeses, the Inca Boyz. Yet, even with the harsh circumstances of their youth, the men can joke around with each other and are motivated to help others.
Similarly, Bailey started hanging around with the gang after her mother died and when she was quite young. Once a teenager, she learned to substitute sex for affection and only on realizing that her sweet innocent brother would become a hardened criminal if they stayed with the gang did she get up the strength to leave. Her fierce resolve to make her brother's life better extends to showing him what a 'normal' life should look like, with a job, food on the table, and household rules.
Nathan's presence in Bailey's life is definitely a positive one. He treats her with the respect she's never had. While he's interested in pursuing a sexual relationship, it's only with her complete consent, listening to her concerns and desires. Their sex scenes are emotional and very steamy. It's a heady feeling for Bailey to have a man like Nathan extend his physical and emotional support to her. As well, Nathan takes it upon himself to show her brother the way a man should treat a woman, with care and respect. He's really quite a wonderful hero in all respects. While he may not have the brute strength to protect Bailey in a physical fight, he has the wits and brains to outmaneuver an opponent. Though Bailey is afraid when she finds out that the Andersons are involved in trying to take down the Inca Boyz, she takes Nathan at his word that they will be protected from any fallout.
It's lovely to watch Bailey flower under Nathan's attention. Though she was able to exhibit the physical and emotional strength to leave an abusive situation, one in which rape was a common occurrence, she did not believe herself worthy of love until Nathan showed her otherwise. He doesn't care about her sexual past or about the things she had to do to survive. He cares about her as a whole person. The story heats up in the second half as the inevitable confrontations occur, and the result is some action packed and tense scenes that lead to a satisfying conclusion (and some hints as to what the next story will be about). Readers who like their romantic suspense romances on the gritty and dark side with characters who deserve happy endings will enjoy this story.

I loved this book, the character development was interesting and complex. The story was captivating too! It was well worth the read!
This is another story from Ace security agency. In this one, the third brother Nathan falls for former gang member Bailey. What can I say about this book it was quick interesting read but I was not all that impressed. We see Bailey struggling with her past decisions and raising her younger brother that is still under influence of her former gang. In picture comes Nathan and we see the half book him building Bailey's confidence and giving her advice about raising brother and in a way rebuilding, reraising her brother. Nathan is a great guy and he falls instantly for Baily. Baily is more reserved, damaged with a lot of baggage from the past. When they finally decided to take their relationship on to another level there is a lot of their bed activity. Ther is a quick intense moment when her ex-comes back but otherwise, the story just ok.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
I received a review copy of Claiming Bailey via Netgalley and this is my freely given, honest opinion. This is the third stand alone title in Susan Stoker's Claiming series. If you have read Susan Stoker before, you know that she writes inter-connected books so I recommend that you read Claiming Grace and Claiming Alexis first because the characters are mentioned throughout. Claiming Bailey is Nathan Anderson's story. He is the last single Anderson brother, serious and the business mind behind Ace security. He has been searching for a gang member's ex-girlfriend when she pops up under the hood of his car's engine! Bailey Hampton is running errands with her younger brother Joel when she observes a man staring at his engine in confusion. She's a mechanic and decides to help him out. She has no idea that Nate is going to shake up her world! With the help of Nate, his brothers and family, Bailey is going to confront the demons of her past that caused her to escape Denver and wind up in Castle Rock, CO. If I give away any more of the story, I will ruin the plot for you. Claiming Bailey is told from dual POV and has some very difficult topics in it. The entire Ace Security series is a deeper than the other Susan Stoker books that I have read and I think that's a good thing. It shows her growth as an author and I enjoyed the depth of the characters emotions.
Claiming Bailey, which is book 3 in the Ace Security series, was just as good as the first two. The love and respect between the brothers and then their women as they came along make the series a fantastic read. Love the nerdy aspect of the man/hero of this book with Nathan. Blake (book 2) was my favorite brother until I read this book. Nathan hands down is my favorite showing that you don’t have to be the big beefy man to be the hero, you can be the sweetest most sincere nerdy geek and still be awesome.
Emotionally gripping, action packed, intriguing and thrilling romantic adventure that will keep you turning the pages with lingering anticipation to the very end. Loved it!
Ace Security’s Nathan Anderson is the self proclaimed nerd of the brothers, it takes finding Bailey Hampton to prove to himself that he does have an Alpha protective side just like his brothers. Bailey is as girl on the run looking to get her brother out of a bad situation and earn enough to leave the state. Then she falls for our brilliant and sexy Nathan and suddenly she has a reason to fight to stay. Highly entertaining late night, relaxing before bed read.
Susan Stoker is a must read, no matter what. The “Claiming” series tells about the Anderson Brothers and a fight against a gang called the Inca Boyz. This series seems a little light despite the efforts is Stoker to darken the content.
The book engages in stereotypes but somehow overcomes that. The nerdy skinny guy who works with numbers, the tough tattooed female mechanic who is the gangster’s girlfriend with a heart of gold... yet these were characters I really enjoyed and engaged with.
The ending was imaginative. I loved how they saved themselves (no spoilers), and had the reality of having to explain it all to the police. No easy endings!
I wish there were half stars available. This is stronger than a 4 but not quite a 5. It’s a great read no matter what scores it receives.
Wow that perfound line Nathan: "Women have to be stronger than men simply to deal with the shit they get dealt on a daily basis by men who wrongly think, like Donovan, that they’re ‘better’ than they are." There's a few other lines that are also perfound but that one takes the cake. Stoker loves pushing and bringing to light hard issues especially dealing with double standards.
Awesome contemporary non-gang & security romance. Bailey is on the run from the gang she use to run and 'owned' by. She's trying to protect her little brother. Nathan's car breaks down when Bailey comes along and helps. They become friends but he's kept secrets regarding his job and she's has dangerous secrets about her past. I thoroughly enjoy the way Ms. Stoker introduces the characters pasts and the effect those have on both of their present lives. The characters have strengths and weaknesses that endear them to the reader. I received a complementary copy of this book via NetGalley and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Stoker.
