After fraudulent use of my Amazon account, it had to be closed and with it my kindle email which I used to download Netgalley arcs; therefore, I am unable to access this title. Thank you for the opportunity.
I thought this was a really well done concept that inspired creating great recipes with many of the same base ingredients and really highlighting the delicious natural flavors of vegetables and spices. I could definitely see myself picking this up to find an idea on a way to use a staple.
I would definitely recommend. Easy to follow instructions. I really like the take on this cook book by using fewer ingredients and just eating simply. I feel sometimes that more and more cook books are using as many and not as common ingredients.
Quite a beautiful book with many interesting recipes. I had to go out of my regular comfort zone and use ingredients I was not really familiar with (like almond milk, lentils, oat flour, coconut flour etc.) but the results were good.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.
Lovely, spare cookbook with clean and bright photos of artfully prepared food and minimalist lifestyle. Will appeal to cooks and non-cooks alike, as the author includes her own philosophies on eating and living, in addition to interesting recipes.
This book was beautiful and intriguing, and would likely be enjoyed by those who aren't afraid to be adventurous in the kitchen. However, I couldn't see myself taking the time to search out the ingredients and make the things included here. But, for the right person, fabulous!
What a BEAUTIFUL book, both from a design standpoint and recipe creation standpoint. I loved everything about it and have a full repertoire of recipes to attempt in my kitchen, now. I'm a sucker for pretty pictures, and More with Less does NOT disappoint. It tends to feature new flavor combinations I would have never thought of and I'm so excited to see how they excite my tastebuds.
There are ten chapters, covering breakfast to dinner with sweets and sauces included. The photography is beautiful throughout with recipes easy to follow. I might be adding this cookbook to my collection!
I really liked this book and would recommend to anyone in the library that just wants to try a good cookbook.
A beautiful cookbook with recipes to impress guests, yet seem so simple to make! Cannot wait to try every single one!
So I love cooking books because I am terrible in the kitchen and what clear instructions on what to do and how to do it.
I will start with the positives of this book first. The cover is gorgeous, there is great photography throughout. The text is simple and clear and the instructions are actually easy to follow. The first chapter on different oils, salts, condiments and flours was actually really helpful. There are sections that I actually used, how to much your own milks, broths, drinks and dressings. Note, I read through this book in one sitting and already got up to make veggie broth to freeze. So that's a huge positive for me.
Negatives of the book is how complicated the ingredients are. I though a 'whole food cooking made simple' would be like lots of veggies and fruits mixed in with staple ingredients most people would have in their pantry. Simple recipes like soups baffled me: minestrone with quinoa and arugula and walnut pesto? What?
Honestly, in all the main recipes I would need to sub out at least three ingredients just to stay within my food budget.
Overall nice book but not economically sound for me to make these recipes and they aren't really simple if you can't make even a salad dressing without running to the store for two more ingredients.
This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
We all know that we should be including more whole foods in our diets. This book will be useful those who are just starting out with good intentions, and seasoned experts. Plenty of recipes to try out, and advice and wisdom that all can benefit from.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free digital ARC of this book. This book is true to its title description. The reader won't be disappointed when reading this book.
After reading through this book, the love that the author has for wholesome, natural foods is very evident. Very impressed with the introduction as most cookbooks are not as interesting as this one. Her discovery of “real” foods is amazing.
The recipes in this cookbook are unlike any I’ve read elsewhere and I’m an avid reader of cookbooks. They are unique combinations, which gives enthusiastic cooks an avenue of discovery like no other.
There are so many good recipes, tips, and stories in this book. A cookbook that is actually doable doesn't come along every day. It really is about doing more with less.
Great and flavorful recipes that are easy to follow. I love that a number of recipes share ingredients and so when you buy something it doesn't sit around in your pantry never to be used again. A great addition to any library cookbook collection.
More With Less by Jodi Moreno is a very nice modern cookbook with simplified, straightforward, recipes. The ingredients are mostly, but not entirely, vegetarian.
The recipes that inspired me to cook include:
Coconut Curry Lentil Balls
Sweet Potato, Chickpea and Poblano Hash with Fried Egg
Ginger Miso Butternut Squash Soup With Roasted Apples
Overall a thoughtful, well-constructed recipe book, although (other than a few recipes), it does not appeal personally to my palate.
