This was is a fun read. Who doesn't understand the every-so-satisfying appeal of popping the last bubble? Great illustrations too.
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Pop was a cute story of a boy chasing down a bubble because they all need to be popped. The story has many opportunities for teaching concepts in young grades, but I didn't think the story flowed well. It just felt as though something was missing to connect the pieces. I like the concept and idea as well as the little boy character, I just felt that the plot needed a little more development.
I did appreciate the advancement of how to get to the bubble and felt there were many things to teach with this story.
This far-fetched—to the point where I found it hard to suspend disbelief—tale about a lonely boy and his quest to pop his last bubble will melt your heart.
Loved the illustrations and the ending. It was a very creative book and Dewey had to be innovative and keep thinking of ways to get higher. Great for boys and girls.
To what ends would you go to make sure you popped every bubble you blew? Would you jump of your tree house? Would you scale a skyscraper? Would you borrow a space ship? Follow one little kid as they look for that answer. And even an answer to what if the bubble never pops. A fun story with wonderful illustrations. It’s a lot of fun and makes me think of spring.
This is a great book to use in an interactive story time setting especially if it is combined with blowing bubbles. Little kids will delight in this story of Dewey trying desperately to pop that bubble. Some will probably try to guess what his next idea will be,
What a fun, joyful book! Dewey's drive and ingenuity in going after that one last bubble is hilarious and kids who are fans of aircraft will be really thrilled. Quite an unexpected ending that really pleased me. A simple book with a lot to spark the imagination.
A cute junior level graphic novel about a boy and his bubble. Our patrons will love this.
