This was a neat concept. Sort of s blend of Where’s Waldo and Carmen Sandiego. It introduces kids to Bigfoot. It then gives several vacation ideas. After each, there is an illustrated page to find items. It was fun and great for kids on vacation or in the car/plane on the way to their destination.

A fun and exciting activity book, very similar to "Wheres Waldo?", although with much more educational information included. Follow BigFoot around on vacation, and try to find a list of hidden objects. I found the digital version to be hard to zoom in on my iPhone, but I loved it nonetheless. I can tell this will be a beautiful and colorful book in print and will definitely be on the lookout for the series at the bookstore.
I also reviewed a similar book called "BigFoot Visits The Big Cities Of the World" and felt that my review for that book is the same.
I received a digital copy of both books from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
If you've ever read a 'Where's Wally?' book then you'll know the concept here for 'Bigfoot Goes on Vacation'. The difference is that the Bigfoot books have a slightly more education aspect to them; for each double-page seek and find spread, the two preceding pages offer information about the various locations that Bigfoot visits, with facts and information. For instance, there is a double page spread on carnivals with photographs alongside facts, and then the following pages involve the seek and find activity with a list of things to find. Unlike the legendary Where's Wally books, I found Bigfoot rather difficult to find; most of the figures are simply monochromatic outlines without much detail, meaning you're not quite sure if you've found what they're looking for. On the whole though, this is a good balance of education and fun.
The book had some really good facts and information sections but even as an adult I found some of the hide and seek activities very hard! 4 stars
I guess I expected this to be more like a Where's Waldo book. I received this in a ebook format, and the photos were tiny. I couldn't make anything out. After seeing the photos, I just gave up on it. I am giving the book 3 stars because, I feel like it would be a great book in print.
This book takes a unique spin on the traditional "search & find" book. In addition to searching for Bigfoot in his various vacation spots, information about each spot is given. The book provides both entertainment and information.
I grabbed thinking it was a where's waldo type thing but it's not. It was filled with information and it was educational. It isn't something I would buy kids or read to them. I don't think they would be interested.
This was so much fun. And very hard. An entertaining and educational book.
Move over Waldo, it is time to find Bigfoot. This is a fun book that late primary and junior age students will enjoy. In this book you get an opportunity to read about some vacation spots that families would enjoy. There is also an introduction to Big Foot at the beginning of each book in this series. The vacations might be to places such as Yellowstone Park or to events like a Balloon Festival. They gives facts about things you might see at the vacation spots and there are actual photographs of the landmarks and famous events. After reading about the vacation spot, you turn the page and are met with some very busy line drawn illustrations where you not only have to find Bigfoot, but many other objects as well. The puzzles are challenging and enjoyable. I was reading this with my grandson on my laptop and we had to enlarge the pages to find Bigfoot, the footprint was something we were never able to find. He got frustrated and stopped looking for Big Foot but still liked finding some of the other objects. This book is not for younger primary students as I could see them getting frustrated. This book would certainly sharpen observation skills. I was glad there was an answer key at the back of the book for Big Foot and his print so we could find them if we gave up. I hope the actual book is large enough that you can actually spot Big Foot. This would be a great book for a school or classroom library. I could also see it keeping children occupied during a long car ride when on vacation.
This time Bigfoot is going on vacation. The first infobits about where Bigfoot comes from appears to be the same across the series. This title looks at vacations a family might take like a cruise, deep sea diving, or going camping
BigFoot Goes on Vacation is a collection of puzzles challenging you to find Bigfoot and other hidden objects. The puzzles are original line drawings of scenes of popular vacation activities or fun places to go.
Fun spots like the beach, camping, a cruise ship, the carnival and a balloon festival are included. There are also a few specific destinations like the African plains and Yellowstone Park.
As with the other Bigfoot search and find activity book, Bigfoot Visits the Big Cities of the World, facts and photographs provide information about the history, food, or animals who live in the areas chosen.
The drawings are fun and funny, and there is an answer key in the back for any puzzle that is too challenging. People of all ages would enjoy this book, especially hidden object puzzle lovers. It would be a great book to take on a long trip.
