Amber Barnett is baby Penny's mother. She suffers from being one of the unlucky Barnett sisters (or so she believes). Her latest episode of her ex-husband walking out on her when she tells him she's expecting followed by her loaning money to a friend who doesn't pay her back. Those situations lead her heat to being turned off, so she decides to crash at her boss' Snowflake Valley home assuming he is visiting his family elsewhere for the holidays. Amber could have turned to her family, but she wants to show she can do it alone. Crashing at her boss' place seems like a way to be independent.

Michael DeFranco (Amber's boss) shows up at his home in Snowflake Valley attempting to avoid his family after a disastrous Christmas get-together. Michael is escaping his ne'er-do-well family. Although he helped raise his brothers, he's decided to abandon family and prefers to be on his own. He knows some of his step family look at him as a bank fund rather than a true member of the family.

The Barnett family try to nominate Amber to be Snowflake queen and this prompts Michael to pretend to be dating her (as attached people can't be in the running). Of course, the Barnett's take this opportunity to show Michael what Snowflake Valley and family is all about. The more Amber and Michael pretend, the more their pretence becomes reality.

After a number of difficult situations and a step-brother who is out for himself, Amber and Michael find their love pulls them through it all.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the quaint lodge where the story took place and also the quaint town with its cute Christmas names. The part I liked the best was the anticipation of Amber Barnett and Michael DeFranco becoming a real couple. It was like opening a gift on Christmas day. You want to savor and cherish it because it is special and you do not want to spoil the memory. I want to read other books in this series and other books by Barbara White Daille.
I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I loved this well written romance. Great characters and setting. I recommend to readers who enjoy a good romance.

Amber’s one of the unlucky Barnett sisters. She’s got horrible instincts when it comes to men, especially her ex-husband. He left her high and dry with a baby on the way. She’s a single mom with an infant daughter and struggling to make ends meet. Forced out of her apartment temporarily, she decides to stay at the ski lodge she works as a housekeeper. She just wants some peace and quiet, not to mention a reprieve from her daughter’s colic. But all that changes when her boss, Michael DeFranco, walks in the front door and Penny starts to cry.

Tired of the nightmare that is his family, all Michael wants is the solitude of his private ski lodge. He walks in to the surprised shriek of his housekeeper and her infant baby. So much for hibernating alone. While Amber evades his questions about why she’s there, Michael’s bound and determined to get to the bottom of it. The last thing he expected to find when he came to Snowflake Valley was his very own Christmas angel. Can Amber and Penny change his feelings on family, Christmas and marriage or will he be Snowflake Valley’s own Scrooge?

I love holiday romances and this one is a gem. From the first scene, Amber and Michael are at odds with each other yet at the same time, drawn to one another. Their chemistry is sizzling no matter how hard they try to fight it. Barbara White Daille weaves a heart-wrenching story about two wounded hearts begging to be healed, all against the backdrop of a small town at Christmastime. There’s plenty of challenges they must overcome in order to be together. My favorite scene has to be the snowball fight. Hilarious! Highly recommend!

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Entangled Publishing via Netgalley in the hopes I’d review it.

Favorite Character/Quote: “That was what he’d always found different about her. What she had brought into his life from the day he had met her. Her sparkling eyes. Her sunny smile. Her light. They kept his thoughts coming back to her no matter how hard he fought them, no matter how many times he reminded himself she was off-limits.”

My Rating: 5 stars

I"m sorry to say that this book was a DNF for me. That rarely happens. I think my biggest issue with the story is that the main character seemed so desperate. I totally get wanting to find a man and being happy, but this was just a little over the top for me. It's like the characters happiness hinged on things working out with her boss. Meh. I like happy, successful women who are independent...but then find love when they are least expecting it. I'm sure the author is lovely and has other great stories. This one just wasn't for me.

Ms. White creates tales of all encompassing love. It's so easy to hand over your heart and forget to ask for it back. Family meets romance and the rest is history. She slowly reveals the meaning of love with a sweetness that is as erotic as any naughty novel. Heart is sprinkled on every page and permeates each character and word that works it's magic on the romantic in our souls. Love is the greatest factor and it serves as a beacon to guide both the characters and readers home. One Week to Win Her Boss is just another example of a gifted storyteller.

This story was ok but did not really hold my interest. I thought because it was a holiday story I would like it but....

One Week to Win her Boss was the best kind of holiday story. It gave one person who does not believe in the magic of Christmas into a believer again. It also is the story of how a town comes together to bring the magic of Love to a single mother Amber, who, from the very first, was drawn to her boss and she knew that helping Michael believe in Christmas again would also make him believe in love and family again.
When a stormy Christmas Eve brings them together again, in Michael's lodge, Amber who is the housekeeper for the lodge, will do everything in her power to make sure Michael has a Christmas he will never forget. In fact her whole family will help her to.

I enjoyed this story so much and loved being back in Snowflake Valley again. Barbara White Daille bring the magic of Christmas to her readers with Amber and Michael and baby Penny and the rest of the Bennett clan. And most of all the magic of Love.

One week to win her boss was just epic. It cracked my heart right open and put it back together right at the very end of this book. It has some super mushy and sweet moments that just tugged at me the whole way through. Sometimes it even made my eyes flood with happy tears when they got together and they got there HEA. Loved it. Would wholeheartedly recommend this book

Amber wasn’t expecting Michael to show up at his lodge in Snowflake Valley for Christmas week, he was supposed to be with his family for the holiday. So she felt safe in making a somewhat extended visit to the lodge where she worked as housekeeper/hostess during his absence. She’d helped out a friend with a loan but he hadn’t paid it back in time to help herself keep the electric on in her apartment – so it was either stay here at the lodge with her daughter Penny or return home and face the looks of her family who always, it seemed, had to rescue her from something. And it would have worked out perfectly – if Michael hadn’t walked out on his family celebrations to come to the lodge to catch up on paperwork. Now things were about to get complicated.

One Week to Win Her Boss is a fun, emotional and, at times, complicated story of one couple with opposite views on family as they work their way through falling in love. Amber comes from a large family of loving parents and brothers and sisters. She’s the one who always seems to be needing rescuing, or at least it seems that way. Her marriage crumbled almost as soon as it started when her husband went back on his love of children declarations. He left the same day he was told they were expecting a baby. Truth is, better off without him. Now Amber has her adorable daughter Penny, a mad crush on her boss and, once again, needs rescued. That’s why she’s hiding out at Michel’s lodge. Michael is the opposite in many ways. He’s not a fan of Christmas. Or family. Or children. At. All. He grew up much different from Amber, and his childhood memories are of a very different environment. He practically raised his stepbrothers and half-brothers — and he’s done. He feels he is nothing more than a source of fast cash or paying the bill to his family. So he keeps his distance. Every time he gives in and tries again, it’s the same result – disaster.

Michael and Amber are pulled into her family’s celebration of the season – and soon they are pretending to be involved. Granted the pretend is for a good reason, but it still makes life complicated. Amber will fall deeper in love with Michael. And Michael – well, he won’t mean to but he’ll end up hurting Amber with his bah humbug attitude and thoughtless comments about family. At first Michael won’t even see the softening in his views but when he does he’ll fight with himself, but up barriers and try to keep the truth from himself. Sometimes falling in love isn’t the easiest thing to do – especially when family is involved.

I enjoyed this story very much. The entire cast is vividly realistic, and Michael and Amber along with Penny fit so well together. There are issues to be dealt with, family to once again disappoint people and a rocky road on the way to a happy ending for Michael and Amber. But it’s a trip well worth the time for their story comes alive with believable, it could happen moments. That is what separates stories for me, whether I can really believe the reactions of the people involved… and One Week to Win Her Boss gives us a family, a town full of believable nice and not so nice people.

This is a story that will go on my yearly re-read list – and I’d highly recommend it for any Romance reader. You don’t have to have read the first in this series to understand Michael and Amber’s story, but the main couple there in Snowbound with Mr. Wrong are here as secondary characters – besides it’s a great story too.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This book was just so so for me. Things felt a bit rushed and I just couldn't get completely into the characters...

This is a lovely, heartwarming festive read with plenty of angst and drama as well as romance. It is set in the aptly named ‘Snowflake Valley’ during the festive season. Single Mum, Amber Barnett, works as the housekeeper to the private ski lodge of Michael DeFranco but doesn’t usually live there. However, when the power to her apartment is cut she takes refuge at the lodge, knowing Michael is due to spend the holidays with his family . . . . but he doesn’t - in fact he unexpectedly turns up at the lodge, discovering her there when she almost attacks him as an intruder! This is the start to a week of them living in the lodge, him claiming they’re a couple to stop her being subject to her family’s constant matchmaking attempts and being roped into helping in the various festive events in this close knit community. Sometimes acting out roles makes them even more real and the attraction between these two just grows, changing attitudes, expectations and behaviours in this delightful romance.

The story is packed with a plethora of adorable characters. It is easy to see why Michael doesn’t connect with his dysfunctional family but I love how Amber’s influence helps him develop better relations with some of his brothers. Her family are brilliant role models! The community festive events brilliantly portrayed and there are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. A really touching story full of family festivities, fun and romance together with angst and turmoil that make it a brilliant story to escape into whatever the season!

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

I LOVED this story!! It's excellently written and these characters are amazing. It's a great story of determination, hope, and love yet it's light and fun.

Single Mom Amber Barnett has nowhere else to go when her power is disconnected after she can't pay the bill. So she heads to her bosses ski lodge where she works as a housekeeper and is hoping to spend the week without anyone noticing.Since her boss is hardly ever there it shouldn't be too hard until of course he unexpectedly turns up!

A fun lighthearted read I would definitely recommend.

Amber and her daughter are hiding out at her bosses ski lodge the week of Christmas. Michael , her boss, decides last minute to escape his own family relationship problems by going to Hus ski lodge. Neither one knows the other has made plans to be at the lodge. Amber almost knocks Michael's head in, with a elf statute. Michael learns of Amber's money problems, and offers to pay the utility bill. Amber has secretly been in love with her boss for too long, as he has with her.

A sweet Christmas story in a quaint small town. The 2 main characters, one full of Christmas joy and the other a total Scrooge, come together on a spur of the moment decision. The story is full of family and small town seasonal festivities. A quick and easy read.

One Week To Win Her Boss is a splendid holiday romance by Barbara White Daille. Ms. Daille has delivered a well-written book packed full of amazing, lovable characters. Amber and her daughter are forced to stay at her employer's lodge when her power is turned off, not knowing he would change his plans and show up there also. Michael is escaping from his dysfunctional family's holiday gathering. Their story is heartwarming and has plenty of drama, humor and spice to keep the pages flying. I enjoyed reading this touching story and look forward to reading more from Barbara White Daille in the future. One Week To Win Her Boss is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
