This is my second book of Pagan's that I have read. Pagan has the ability to bring a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes. Every.Single.Time
I could relate to the main character in several ways when she references her inattention to herself while she raised her children.

I loved this book! It was what I needed after reading a couple that did nothing for me. I loved Maggie ~ she was believable and invited you into her story. The book was funny, sad, sweet and heartbreaking. It was very well written. I will definitely recommend this book to family and friends. Also, I would read another by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book for my honest review. LOVED IT!
I absolutely loved this book!!! Couldn't put it down. It left me with a big smile at the end!!
This was my third Camille Pagan book and it did not disappoint. It sucked me in from the very beginning, and left me interested throughout. Some have said it was predictable, but honestly I was unsure who Maggie would end up with in the end, if anyone at all. I enjoyed this quick read a lot and look forward to reading all of Pagan's future novels.
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Excellent novel about a woman finding her way in the world after her Plan A did not go as planned.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Maggie has her life turned upside down by her husband. So, she goes to Rome. She begins to figure herself out, and the new life ahead. Very witty and relatable. Maggie was a wonderful character, and she displayed true love, forgiveness and strength. Very enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this book! This is the second book that I've read by this author and I have to read her others. Maggie was such a relatable, wonderful woman. I felt like she could be a friend. I liked following the story of her and Adam, and her story of heartbreak and recovery. If you have a few hours to curl up, this is a good book to do it with.

Maggie Harris is fifty-three with two grown children when her husband announces he's been having an affair and wants a divorce. Maggie is blindsided and begins to do whatever she can to make her husband Adam want to save their marriage. She ends up taking their anniversary trip to Rome by herself, which leads her to spending a few months in Ann Arbor away from everything. There she begins to sort out her feelings and begins to find her true self. She develops a relationship with Charlie, a recently divorced man that she really likes. Then, out of the blue, Adam is in crisis and needs her. He wants her back, which is what she has wanted all along. But after all this time, is that really what she wants? What about Charlie? And what about Maggie herself? What's a gal to do? This is another great book by Camille Pagan.
This is a beautiful story of family, love, and heartbreak. Maggie is 53 years old and married with 2 children. She thinks her life is perfect. Out of the blue her husband asks for a divorce as he has been having an affair. Maggie's whole life is destroyed! She realizes she has lost herself always caring for her husband and children and needs to find herself again. I loved Maggie. She is such a strong woman and I found myself cheering for her as she found herself and her strength again. I received an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
What a wonderful novel. A story of inner strength, forgiveness, growth, friendship and love.
Told from the perspective of Maggie, a woman in her mid 40s who had sacrificed herself to be a mother and a wife. While her two children have grown and for the most part flourished, Maggie's husband Adam decides he is unhappy and leaves. Maggie is lost and alone but goes on a journey that makes her find herself again. Maggie is a strong character and I loved the relationship she has with her children.
I related to Maggie because she reminded me of my mother. There were scenes that made me cry and others that made me cheer and laugh.
This novel is a wonderful hybrid of Pagan's precious novels. Funny and tongue in cheek at some parts and dramatic and heart breaking at others
All in all a light read but one that has meaning and significant points that will stay with you. Any mother of grown children or a child who has a mother should read. Love this author and she has hit the mark on many levels with this novel
Releases Feb 27. This is the perfect read to pull you from your winter blues!!
I absolutely loved this book. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the story turned in an unexpected way that was very satisfying. I'll be looking for more of this author's books.
I really enjoyed the writing style of the author and felt like we all a Maggie in our lives and can all picture ourselves becoming a Maggie.
I wanted a little more humor in this book. I know the subject matter isn’t funny but the description made it sound like there would be more humor.
I can’t say I would make all the same choices as Maggie but I feel like her choices were right for her.
I liked the premise of the title and appreciate when a young writer is able to bring characters to the page that are complex/older. I
especially thought Rose was so well characterized.. I really found myself wishing that the book was nonfiction or literary fiction in genre.
I found the main character to be slightly implausible in her actions and what was situationally put before seemed unlikely so that was not a plus, I did have to remind myself that fiction is of the creative imagination and can be just a story. I think the writer is gifted so I am more apt to take the time to be discerning and not write this off as a screenplay type read, that said with the time to discuss
I enjoyed this novel. Finding a readable and smart novel with a protagonist in her 50s was exciting. I felt that the only part of the novel that didn't read as real life was her economic status. It seemed at some times as if money is an issue and then in others that she has never worried about money. Otherwise, I would recommend this novel.
When I started reading WOMAN LAST SEEN IN HER THIRTIES by Camille Pagan, I knew this novel was something special. When I read FOREVER IS THE WORST LONG TIME earlier this year, I was impressed with the author's ability to capture female and male emotions and dialog while crafting a good story. In this novel, she tells the story from Maggie's point of a view, a fifty something mother with grown children who is preparing for her big anniversary. However, when her husband announces he is leaving her in the middle of his own midlife crisis, Maggie finds that she has a crisis happening as well. Who is she without her role as a wife and how does she rediscover who she is? The writing is very fluid with just enough humor and stress to make it believable and engaging. I found this novel to be a very enjoyable and definitely recommend adding Pagan's novels to your reading lists!
I received an advance review copy of this book from NetGalley and the Great Thought's Ninja Review Team. All opinions are my own.
Whenever I pick up a book by Camille Pagan, I know I will get a novel filled with multi-dimensional characters and a story filled with the ups and downs, and twists and turns of life. In Woman Last Seen in Her Thirties, the author has given us Maggie; a 53-year-old woman, content in life with her husband and two adult children, although she is a bit of a worry wart! The one thing she never worried about, never questioned, was her marriage...until the day her husband tells her that he is leaving her for another woman. Suddenly she begins to question everything in her life, all of the decisions she's made, all of the things she took for granted, and she must somehow figure out if her life is over, or if it's just beginning. I loved Maggie so much....she was so relatable, so honest, and her emotions so raw. As I followed along with her on her journey, I laughed, I smiled, I cried, I cringed...but above all I felt hopeful. Maggie's resilience, her strong sense of self-worth, empower her through the darkest of days. This story is compelling and poignant, filled with relationships and emotions that are sure to fill readers' hearts. I finished this book with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face.
I connected to this story on so many levels. Maggie Halfmoon Harris is fifty-three, she thought she was happy. Inside she feels like the old Maggie, a much younger woman, but she feels invisible to those outside. She's a bit of a worrier, but the last thing she thought she had to worry about was her husband Adam, leaving her. He does just that and Maggie starts to go off the rails, but she manages to focus on what she wants her life to become, and by hook or by crook, she's going to have her, I AM HERE, moment. Through funny twists and turns, trial and error, and missteps she sees her path. As the book says, in order to be happy, one must have a purpose in life. Maggie lost her way, but she finds her purpose. The descriptions of Maggie's memories of her relationship with her mother and her death from cancer resonated with me. At the time you feel numb, you can't take it all in, though you want to feel everything that's happening. Later it's those odd times when you are brushing your daughter's hair, that a sharp memory comes back and you find yourself blubbering, unable to explain your behavior. I think we will all see a little of ourselves in Maggie. I know I certainly saw myself in travel agent Barbara from Bridgewater Travel!! Ms. Pagan is fast becoming a favorite author. Thank you to the author and the Great Thought's Ninja Review Team for the review copy. All opinions are my own.

An expertly drawn portrait of a woman finding the strength to go find out what is next in life.
SUMMARY
Adam Harris packed a suitcase and left his wife Maggie, for a younger woman. He said he wasn’t in love with her anymore. And now Maggie is alone in the house where they had raised their two children, desperately trying to figure out what to do next. Her husband and children have been her whole life. She and Adam had been in the midst of planning a twenty-eight wedding anniversary trip to Rome. Scared but hopeful, fifty-three year-old Maggie heads to Rome, all by herself, to begin her journey of recovery, rebuilding and rebounding.
REVIEW
Maggie is tired of trying to make everyone else happy. Now is the time for herself. This is a witty and endearing story of Maggie’s discovery of who she is and what she wants. Maggie’s well-drawn character of an “invisible” woman is someone many women can relate to. “How could I possibly face the world alone if no one can see me?” Camille Pagán’s writing is both clever and entertaining. The plot moves fast and is captivating. I really loved how this book just throws us right into the crux of the story, with Adam leaving Maggie for a younger woman right on page one of the book. Overall, Woman Last Seen in Her Thirties is a touching chronicle of a woman struggling with identity when her world has been turned upside down.
Thanks To NetGalley, Lake Union Publishing and Camille Pagán for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Pagan has crafted yet another novel about a good wife who gets blindsided by her husband of many years who has decided to leave her. Maggie believed that she and husband Adam would grow old together, but his shocking defection leaves her, in her 50’s to rebuild her life.
She has the good fortune of meeting an older divorcee who helps offer her some options. She moves and joins a divorce support group...and wouldn’t you know it, she meets Charlie (at the first meeting) and looks towards a bright future. A little trite and stilted? You bet! That’s what made this novel terribly unsatisfying for me. Couldn’t she have a few bad dates?
When her husband finally realizes the error of his ways and tries to return, after a major health crisis, Maggie refuses. Wouldn’t it be great if life were really so black and white and new life partners fell from the sky like raindrops?
I enjoyed the read, but I’m much too cynical to relate to the simplistic and predictable events that befall Maggie. I think a book club would have a great discussion after reading this novel.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for an advance reader copy of Woman Last Seen in Her Thirties, in exchange for an honest review. I connected with both Maggie and Adam from the beginning of the novel even though I am younger than both characters, I understood what they were going through and wanted to see both of them find the happiness they deserved. I loved the ending! #WomanLastSeeninHerThirties #NetGalley
