Bodhi and Bridgette. Wow. I’m not even sure how to fully put into words how much I loved this book by Melissa Foster!
Bodhi was pure strength and solidness. He was exactly what Bridgette, and Louie needed. Swoon.
This book was just what I needed, and left me just turning page after page through the night. Definitely worth the missed sleep!
5 stars for sure!
I have to say that I hate to cry. This book made me cry, and I loved it so much! I love to think that a broken person can be healed. This story spoke to me so much, because I felt like Bodhi and Bridgette were only able to heal with the help of the other. Bodhi is the type of man I could see myself wanting to take care of, he is the strong silent type, who takes care of everyone but himself. I loved when he started to open up and show his true self. Bridgette is selfless to a fault, which in a way is the perfect match for Bodhi. She is a wonderful mother who has transformed her entire life for her son, so much that she has forgotten to live a little for herself as well. I can wait for the next book in the Sugar Lake series!
OH MY GOODNESS! Melissa Foster! What are you doing to me!! How can you give me such a wonderful, amazing, loyal, beautiful hero to fall in love with! Or another series, that I clearly cannot live without! And if all that wasn't enough! You give me an amazingly strong heroine to root for, and her adorable son to fall in love with! Seriously though! My life will never be the same.
For those of you who haven't read Only For You, by the amazingly talented Melissa Foster, GO AND BUY IT NOW, because you will be swept up in this amazing world!'
Life of florists, single mom Bridgette Dalton is tough, but after the death of her husband, she's determined to make it a great one for her son. But what draws her eye is the mysterious new neighbor, whom is working hard on his house, oh and his crazy Chinese food stealing dog! Bodhi Booker is a fixer, that’s what his job is, and now he is fixing up a house for his mom, while he is in-between missions. It doesn't matter that the new neighbor is smoking hot! Or that he can't get her out of his mind, or even that fact that her son has wormed himself in to Bodhi heart! He cannot get into a relationship with another person, and do his job…, but Bodhi can't stay away, so they can date until he deploys…right?
If you couldn't tell, I love every part of this book and have read it at least 5 times since I got it. It truly is everything I have come to expect from a Melissa Foster book; well written, complex characters and a plot you can sink yourself into, and this is why I give Only For You 5 stars.
.Sweetness abounds in the second installment of the Sugar Lake series, which was fitting given the name of the town in which the story took place. The story was not only sweet; it was heart-warming, funny and entertaining. I got my first glimpse of the main characters in the first book and could not wait to dive into their story and it sure was worth every waiting moment. Only for You tells the story of a single mom and the man who made her realise falling in love the second time around can be as good and exciting as the first.
Bridgette Dalton returned to Sweetwater to raise her five-year-old son after the death of her husband. Focused on raising her son and operating her flower shop, The Secret Garden, she had no time for romance. However, her hot and sexy neighbour has her thinking maybe pursuing a no strings relationship was not such a bad thing.
Bodhi Booker came to Sweetwater to renovate the house he purchased for his mom. As a covert operations specialist he never saw it fit to make a commitment of forever to a woman. He felt he had nothing to offer a woman. This was due to the dangers of his job. He never counted on meeting the beautiful young widow who would have him rethinking his position about relationships.
From the moment they met sparks flew, and their unexpected attraction had them both tied up in knots. They tried fighting their attraction; however, after weeks of struggling with their feelings for each other they became involved in a no strings relationship with no expectations of permanency. However, love is not an emotion one can dictate, as Bridgette and Bodhi will come to realise.
I found Bridgette to be a relatable character. I admired her independence, strength and determination. With Bridgette what you see is what you get. She was real, and she remained true to herself throughout the story. I understood her reluctance to get involved in a relationship. Having suffered pain from the loss of her husband, no one could fault her for not wanting to risk her heart again. Her son, Louie was her priority so relationships were a big no-no. She took her role as a mother serious and everything she did was done with Louie in mind.
Ms. Foster has created some amazing heroes, but Bodhi is my favourite by far. If it were possible for me to create the perfect man, Bodhi would be my template. He is hot, sexy, romantic and considerate. He is brooding, which made him even more appealing. He runs a charity for military heroes and their families. Seeing the way he treats both Bridgette and her son made my heart swoon. I can imagine the warm and fuzzy feelings Bridgette must have experience seeing this hot and sexy guy looking out not only for her but also for her son’s best interest. He is definitely a keeper. Did I mention he reads romance novels? Be still my heart.
I loved them as a couple. I became invested in their relationship and hoped they would work things out so they could be together forever instead of now and here.
Interaction between the characters was dramatic, entertaining and heart-warming. I loved all the characters but the one who owned a piece of my heart was Louie. Sweet, adorable and innocent in his mannerisms, he will worm his way into your heart.
I enjoyed this story, but I had issues. The issue I had relates Bodhi’s career, the mission he went on and the aftermath of said mission. The fact that his career played heavily in his decision to avoid long-term relationships, I expected it to be featured more in the plot. Instead it was glossed over. Furthermore, the problems arising from his career, which proved a hindrance was resolved quickly and easily. Regarding the mission, I was hoping for more details, especially as it relates to his final decision.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Fans of sweet, sexy and emotional romance stories with a sensitive and caring hero will enjoy Only For You.
Only For You by Melissa Foster is set in a small town called Sugar Lake. It has all the charm a small town can offer and Bridgette has come back home to be close to her family after the unexpected death of her husband. She is now a single mom raising her son, Louie, and is the owner of the floral shop in town.
Her life is focused on her son and she has had no room for romance or for a relationship…. until a chance encounter at her sister’s bakery has left her wondering about the tall, dark and handsome newcomer to town. As fate would have it, this stranger is living next door to her while he fixes up the house as a retirement gift for his mom.
Bodhi lost his father at a young age and he now works for an agency that deals with secret covert missions… which leads him into the midst of danger on a regular basis. For this reason, he keeps his emotional distance in relationships and involves himself only in one-night stands. But he is drawn to his neighbor and to her charming son.
They begin a tenuous relationship with the intent to keep it strictly on the physical level but the more time they spend together, they realize how difficult that is. Barriers are broken down and hardened hearts are melted… and a relationship that was supposed to be only temporary may soon become so much more.
This is a wonderful story of two wounded souls finding themselves in each other. Take the time to visit Sugar Lake and spend some time with Bodhi and Bridgette… you will not regret it.
Bodhi Booker is working on a house in Sweetwater and is trying to stay focused on the house and his dog. The neighbor next door Bridgett Dalton is attractive but he does not want to start anything. One because she has a child, and two he still goes out on special op missions through a private contractor. Bridgett a widow is not only trying to protect her heart but her son as well. Working at her floral shop and raising her son is all she can handle. Though her friends want her to start going out on dates. Both of the plans go awry. It begins when she comes home one night after picking up her son and has Chinese food. Bodhi’s dog smells the food and goes for the food and for her groceries. Feeling bad he re buys dinner but this sets in motion a constant time that they begin to spend together. The biggest problem they have is that for heaven’s sake they actually enjoy each other’s company and begin to enjoy time with one another. So much so that he takes them to New York for a week end. Afterwards he begins to panic and wonders if this is something that he can do. A relationship, family. A really good story. I liked all of the characters as well.
Melissa Foster does it again. Bridgette and Bodhi have chemestry from the begining but what Foster does best is create characters and stories that more than just a sexy story where two people fall in love. These are real characters who have to get through real problems that feel more than just a contrived plot divice to keep them apart. I recommend this to anyone looking for a book with well developed characters and a story with depth then this is the book for you.
This is the second story in the Sugar Lake Series and a sexy, fun read.
Set in the town of Sweetwater, New York, Bridgette Dalton is a florist shop owner and shares space with her sister Willow’s bakery. Bridgette is a widow and has a son, Louie. Her family, Roxie her Mom and her other sister Piper are always there for her, and right now they’re trying to convince her to start living again. It just so happens she has a new neighbor, Bohdi Booker who appears to be a classic bad boy. His Great Dane, Dahlia, decided that Bridgette’s take out Chinese food smelled really good, and he nearly took down Bridgette to get to it. Bohdi apologizes, definitely not love at first sight, but they both feel a spark of attraction.
Bohdi is a covert ops rescue specialist with a private firm called Darkbird. He spent years in the military and this is now his dream job. He is in Sweetwater for two weeks to renovate a home he bought for his mom and then on to more assignments. Having been in the military, he has seen hearts broken and lives ruined when someone doesn’t make it home. He’s not sure if it’s attraction or lust he feels, but he wants to get to know her better. Dahlia heartily agrees. After a mind bending kiss, they decide they might not do “ever after” but they could certainly work with “right now.” At least they hoped so.
The characters are wonderful, the love story hot, and there’s plenty of laughs. Dahlia and Louie will steal your heart. This can be read as a stand alone, but I think the first book in the series looks equally enjoyable.
I obtained this book from the publisher and Netgalley for review.

I swear every time I read a book by Melissa Foster, the word sweet pops into my time like a 2894774201B37 times and it almost makes my teeth hurt. She has a way of writing great romances without making them heavy or frustrating and I end up loving 95% of them. Just as I loved this book. Bodhi was great to Bridgette's son. He loved the kid and he is going to be an amazing dad to him. He was caring and he never thought of him as someone else's son. The author managed to mix all the elements of the book and produce a very good result. We got to see Bridgette being a mom, the owner of a flower shop and a woman and none of those aspects felt like they needed to develop more. Bodhi has his own family and friends who appear in this book. His profession the cause of worry for him and Bridgette, but in the end, everything works out. From the moment Bodhi's love for flowers was mentioned I wanted to see him working alongside Bridgette in her flower shop. For me, that would have been a great way to end the book, but I am satisfied with what I got. As usual, I would recommend the book because the small town setting is lovely and the main characters are great people.
5 Stars
Only for You is the second title in the Sugar Lake series, and is by far my favorite Melissa Foster read for 2017!
Bodhi Booker is an alpha with a strong purpose in life. He's former spec ops, and continues his work in the private sector in order to save others from the heartache his family endured. Bodhi is an incredibly endearing, yet enigmatic character who on one hand is a hard and sexy soldier, but he also reads romance, and has a thorough knowledge of flowers and their meanings.
Bridgette Dalton is endearing single mother, after the loss of her husband, her young son became her whole world. She runs a flower shop and devotes all her free time to Louie.
This pair fight their undeniable attraction and chemistry from the very beginning, they both have fears they need to see past in order to forge happiness and a future together.
Only for You is a captivating, emotional, heartfelt story of loss, love and hope. The romance and love scenes in this title are hot, intense and passionate. Overall it's a lovely small town romance and I have come to love the Dalton family, and Sugar Lake and will be eagerly awaiting future titles in this series.
I was super excited to read Only for You because I really wanted to find out if Bridgette would get her happily ever after.
Bridgette lost her husband four years ago and has been taking care of her son alone ever since. She hasn’t had any desire to get back in the dating game until she meets her sexy neighbor Brodhi Booker. Brodhi is the epitome of a protector. After losing his father to a rescue mission gone bad, he’ll do anything to make sure another rescue mission doesn’t go wrong on his watch. Brodhi and Bridgette have an instant connection and while Brodhi knows he can’t stay, he wants to be with Bridgette more than anything. They make an agreement that when his time is up their relationship will be nothing more than a fond memory.
Only for You is an amazing and adorable story. I loved how amazing the characters were and this story will definitely make you swoon and want your own Brodhi. He’s beyond sweet and caring and plain perfection. Towards the end when he’s leaving I kept wishing for him to come back. This book has all the feels.
I enjoyed Bridgette and Brodhi. I fell for them and felt for them and swooned for them and cried with them. Melissa Foster did an amazing job writing this book. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The story didn’t drag or have unnecessary parts. The pacing was nicely done and the story flowed really well. The romance was actual romance and not just sexy times which was great. There were dates and wooing and domestication. Enjoyed that very much.
Where do I start off????? First I have to say that I loved Bridgette and Louie, Bridgette's son, in The Real Thing, you can see my review for that book HERE. Bridgette is raising her son Louie on her own since her husbands death about five years ago. Yes she does have the love and support of her family around her but Bridgette tries her best to do everything she can for him and not rely to much on others. Secondly I need to mention Bridgette's mother Roxy, now that woman is a HOOT! Just remember Mom knows best, and Mom knows and sees ALL!!!
Bodhi....now there's a hottie, he's not smooth and silky like Zane is in The Real Thing, but he did melt my heart every time he though about or asked about Louie. Its rough for a single parent to find love again because they need to make sure it's the best situation for their child, not only did Bodhi fit the mold for a perfect male influence on Louie but he truly cared about the kid which was wonderful to see.
Bodhi was very much into the Here and Now when it came to relationships....well actually he didn't do relationships because he never wanted to leave behind someone if he was killed on a mission, but since he wanted to explore things with his sexy neighbor he only promised her Here and Now and made sure Bridgette understood there was no future for them when he returned to the city after completing the renovations on the home he purchased for his mother.
Although I received an Advanced Readers Copy of Only for You I did purchase the ebook through Amazon along with the Audible version as well and I have to say I am so very glad I did. The narrator of the book John Lane has a sexy tone to his voice that I loved, if you enjoy audio books I would recommend you purchasing this one I do not think you will be disappointed at all.
For Bridgette Dalton time is a luxury. A young widow and business owner with a 5 year-old son, she’s always on the run and cutting some corners in order to spend some quality time with her boy. She doesn’t have time to date as her sisters keep reminding her she should, but when Bhodi Booker moves in next door, she’ll find herself drooling over the handsome newcomer.
Bhodi is in town for a limited amount of time and could be called out any minute. His job doesn’t allow room for mistakes and a relationship, getting involved would definitely mess things up. But the sexy woman he met at the bakery is really testing his boundaries and now that they’re living next door to one another, she’s becoming harder to ignore.
I loved this book so much. It was hard to put down, with a great flow to it. The characters are strong, sweet and relatable. Bhodi is the man every single mother wants. Strong and brooding, but with the biggest heart one could ever find and he falls in love with Louie as much as with Bridgette.
Having loved and lost, Bridgette has reinvented herself in order to survive and, when Bhodi comes along, she discovers feelings she thought were lost when her husband died. Ms. Foster puts a different spin to the concept of a relationship with an expiration date and I loved every minute of it.
4.25 stars--ONLY FOR YOU is the second instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult SUGAR LAKE romance series focusing on the men and women of Sweetwater, New York. This is single mom and florist Bridgette Dalton, and former Special Forces soldier Bodhi Booker’s story line. ONLY FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. We were first introduced to Bridgette in Wild Boys After Dark: Logan. SUGAR LAKE is a spin off, and interconnected with a number of Melissa Foster’s other series.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Bodhi and Bridgette) ONLY FOR YOU follows the building relationship between former Special Forces soldier Bodhi Booker, and single mom/widow/florist Bridgette Dalton. Bodhi Booker doesn’t do relationships but meeting his mother’s future next door neighbor finds our hero in all kinds of trouble as he feels himself pulled into the orbit of single mom Bridgette Dalton, and her five year old son Louie. Only two weeks away from his next ‘military’ training Bodhi struggles with his attraction to Bridgette knowing their time together has a deadline. But the heart wants what the heart wants and Bodhi will soon lose his heart to Bridgette and her five year old son. What ensues is the growing love between Bodhi and Bridgette, and the potential fall out as Bodhi says good bye to the woman he loves.
The relationship between Bodhi and Bridgette is temporary; a mutual decision based on previous loss, and potential heartbreak. Bodhi struggled as he watched his mother lose the man that she loved, and our hero refuses to place Bridgette on the slippery slope of a military man’s wife. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate (without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text) as Bodhi and Bridgette will fall in love knowing their will be no happily ever after for either one.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Bridgette’s son Louie, her sisters Piper, Talia, Willow, and Willow’s fiancé Zane (The Real Thing #1), their brother Benjamin, and their parents Roxie and Dan Dalton. WE are introduced to Bodhi’s mother Alisha Booker, his friend Aurelia, his accountant Shira, and Bodhi’s lovable Great Dane Dahlia. Melissa has plans for all of Bridgette’s siblings.
ONLY FOR YOU is an emotional story line. As Bodhi heads to places unknown Bridgette knows she may never again see or speak to the man that she loves therefore kissing him goodbye is probably her last. The premise is wonderful and heart warming; the characters are colorful, energetic and fun; the romance is captivating and sensual. Melissa Foster takes the reader through the ups and downs of a small town romance with big city heart !

Bridgette Dalton is a business owner, widow and single mom to an adorable fun year old. She’s always on the go and even thinking about dating or having free time is laughable. However, catching a few sneak peeks at her hunky new neighbor is another story.
Bodhi Booker is ex special forces and current black ops. His lives his life moving from one dangerous situation to the next. He has no room for relationships or connections because he can’t ever guarantee he’s coming home from whatever mission he is sent on. He’s always been okay with love them and leave them flings, until he runs into Bridgette and Louis. For the first time in his life he is thinking there may be more to life than his job.
When Bodhi and Bridgette agree to explore their passions with a no-strings attached fling, they never expect how quickly their feelings take off and turn into so much more. Their “here and now” relationship has an expiration date of only 2 weeks, but their hearts didn’t get the memo. Will they be strong enough to let one another go to avoid the possibility of heartache caused by Bodhi’s dangerous job or will they find a way to use their newfound love to forge a relationship stronger than the fears of what may come if they stay together.
Only for You really gave me all the feels! I laughed, I cried (seriously, make sure you have tissues handy when reading) I felt hope and love and despair . . . it’s truly a beautiful emotional roller-coaster, just like real life!
Bridgette has been deeply hurt in the past, and being the wonderful mom she is places her child’s well being before her own needs and wants. She is smitten with Bodhi but has to be cautious in not only protecting her heart, but her son’s as well.
Bodhi is all alpha. He’s sexy and protective and has a hidden romantic side that could make any woman swoon. He immediately connects with Bridgette as well as her son and treats the little guy with such care and caution it’s enough to melt your heart!
The plot moves along at a great pace, showcasing just how hard and fast Bodhi and Bridgette fall for one another. Their secret interactions and conversations are gorgeous. Their time spent with Louie is adorable to read. Bridgette and Bodhi’s family are a strong cast of secondary characters in this book, as is Bodhi’s dog Dahlia. The connections and banter between everyone is written so genuinely that it was easy to become immersed in this story and feel every emotion the characters go through as it happens (hence the box of tissues).
Maybe it’s because I was a military spouse whose husband deployed that I was able to identify as closely with the emotional roller coaster of love and lust and fear and denial that Bridgette and Bodhi both go through. Living every moment together as it could be your last really shows how much those little moments we all take for granted count. Melissa Foster does a truly amazing job of showcasing this in Only For You. It’s an amazing journey that should not be passed by if you are looking for a heartfelt read. 5 stars!
I really enjoyed The Real Thing, the first book in the Sugar Lake series so picking this one up was no effort at all as I'm blown away by Bridgette and Bodhi's emotional journey to a Happy Ever After.
Bridgette Dalton, a single mum and owner of the flower shop in Sweetwater has little time for herself after working and caring for her young son. When, someone new moves into the house next to her, she can't help but notice the handsome man…Her family are supportive and suggest she starts looking for someone new since five years have passed since her husband died. Only, the new neighbour is only around temporarily and she doesn't want her son to become attached to him before he leaves for good.
Taking a break from his job as a special operative, Bodhi Booker is using the time to fix up the house he's bought his mother in Sweetwater. The next door neighbour is a woman he'd like to get to know more intimately, but with his departure looming shortly, anything more than a fling isn't possible because he's seen first hand the upset and devastation families face when a love one doesn't come home. Something he's not prepared to do himself.
Bridgette and Bodhi's story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking in equal measures, including times of pure happiness as well as incredible sadness as the pair decide to 'live for the moment'. It's a refreshing, yet emotional journey they make, naively believing they can walk away and continue their lives when Bodhi leaves.
I'm not a fan of children in adult books but Louie is an integral and sweet addition and Bodhi's interaction with him melts your heart as well as his own.
Like a master magician, Melissa Foster always manages to bring something new to her writing with every novel she publishes and Only For You is no exception. She draws you into the narrative with multi-faceted protagonists so it's easy to become invested in their lives. Both Bridgette and Bodhi are adorable and relatable in their own way, showing courage and compassion when making difficult decisions concerning real-life issues. All this wrapped around a cosy and welcoming small town setting with well developed and lovable secondary characters.
This, like The Real Thing, is a standalone novel. If you are unfamiliar with the author's books, These Sugar Lake novels are a fabulous place to start.

Sigh.
That's how I always feel after finishing a Melissa Foster book. You know what you are going to get, and that feeling is always there.
Bridgette and Bodhi's story is sweet and sexy and heartwarming - however it is so much more than that.
I love that neither of them are looking for anything, but it falls in their laps, and we see them fight for what they want - even when they are not 100% sure of what that is themselves.
I do like a moody, gruff military man. The fact that this one has a romantic streak that you won't expect make him all the better. And when he is with Bridgette's little boy - ovaries explode!
I liked that things were not OTT dramatic. Our lovelies issues are realistic, nothing that any of us might not come up against at some time in our lives.
There are great secondary characters - this series of books is the stories of the Dalton siblings. Some of the siblings did blend together a bit, but once I got my head around them I was fine.
Sweet, sexy and adorable, Only For You was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.
I can't wait to see where this series goes next.
This has to be one of my favorite Melissa Foster books ever!
Single mom and widow Bridgette is not really looking for a man, until her new temporary neighbor, Bohdi catches her eye and lot more in Only For You.
This was a rocky romance for man characters Bohdi and Bridgette. Their love story was sad and real as well as sweet and heart warming. I loved every second of this book. It was all the feels and more! Both because Bridgette and Bohdi has sad back stories and because it helped define their relationship. I loved this book so much!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
This was my second Melissa Foster book, the first being The Real Thing which is the first book in this series. I enjoyed this one just as I did with the first.
I really love the Dalton family and the bond they all have, and I was curious as to if something would happen with Bridgette and Bohdi after his brief appearance in book 1.
The story is a little unusual from others in terms of the couple actually agreeing that their relationship is just a “here and now” thing and has an end date. I totally understand the reasoning behind it though, and the story brings to light the risks that many men and women around the world take when they have jobs like Bohdi’s or in any kind of field like it.
Also the fact that Bridgette has already lost her husband a few years ago, and the book has an undertone of serious and heavy loss. But that being said, it doesn’t mean the book is a sad or emotionally heavy book. Its a fun book about living in the moment and embracing the way you feel and the moments right in front of you.
Bohdi is a really great character once you get to know him and see deep inside his true personality. He’s very easy to like. Bridgette is also a great mother and has a strong personality. And we can’t forget Louie, her adorable little boy. He’s very easy to love.
I also liked the fact that there is no real angst in this. Things move along well when you get to that point which was great. Of course we get lots of Bridgettes family in the book and I’m hoping that book 3 is about her brother Ben. There’s a couple of ways his book could go, so my interest is definitely piqued.
Overall, enjoyed this and would recommend.
You know a book is good when you don’t want it to finish and that’s exactly how I felt about Only You, this is book two in the Sugar Lake Series and it’s Bodhi Booker and Bridget Dalton’s story and what a great story it is.
Bodhi is in Sweetwater fixing up a house he purchased for his mum, he will only be in town for a few weeks and the last thing on his mind is a relationship in fact he doesn’t do relationships so why does the single mother living next door make his insides twist and turn.....
Bridget is a young widow trying to get her life back together with the help of her family and friends in Sweetwater and the last thing she expects is to get feelings for the sexy guy working next door.
This is a beautifully written love story with characters that are easy to connect and fall in love with especially when you see how Bodhi interacts with Bridget’s amazing little boy. Melissa Foster has a way with words and she makes you feel like her characters are your friends as you get to know them through her descriptions of people and places, can’t wait for book 3 in the series.
