Christmas Glitter is a charming Christmas romance of two people who have had life changing events recently happen to themselves or loved ones. When the “big picture” of your life changes you can either hide or face them straight on. It’s never easy to move your life’s direction another way, but Dakota and Adam really have no other choice but to move forward, for that is the type of people they are.
The whimsy and beauty of the glass ornaments that Dakota creates caught my attention – for I collect glass Christmas ornaments myself. As Dakota is rebuilding her professional life, she’s also establishing herself in the small town of Cherry Lake. It’s here in the beauty of the area and the calmness of the small town that she can completely heal and move forward still doing what she loves but in a slightly different way than before the accident.
Adam returned home from his professional soccer career to tend to his father’s real estate business when his heart attack sidelined him – and scared his mother and himself deeply. Sometimes it takes a wake up call in order to make our own plans for the future. While his father recovers Adam continues working in his home town, helping with community plans to repair the old Grange again – and maybe falling in love in his spare time.
Adam and Dakota both are healing in different way, as well as facing life decisions that will not wait for anyone. Their romance is a slow burn, a building of a friendship that might lead to more. Adam is holding back worried about issues that have arisen with his father health problems… and his own career. Both are a bit stubborn and tend to put others first. I enjoyed them as a couple and as individual people as well. Their romance was fun, solid and with a touch of hesitation for what the future might hold. Yet when they each set aside their fears they were a delightful couple.
Christmas Glitter begins The Moore Sisters of Montana series, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next story in this series. If you love holiday romance, a slow burning romance, small town living and an easy to relate to situation, then you’ll love Christmas Glitter.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Christmas Glitter by Ann B. Harrison
The Moore Sisters of Montana
Sweet Holiday Romance ~ Healing, love, family and holiday spirit abound in this small town Christmas story.
Dakota Moore has moved to Cherry Lake after a rough year. She is unsure that the creative job she is well known for will be a possibility for her in the future after the accident she was in. One of the first people she meets is Adam Clement – professional soccer player – home to help his father out while he recuperates from a cardiac incident. The two are definitely attracted BUT neither believes they are ready for romance. With Adam trying to figure out what he wants to do with his future and Dakota worried about hers there is much to explore for both of them through the book. In addition to the potential for romance the two are involved in community with a tree decorating, soccer clinics and more going on for the reader to enjoy.
I enjoyed the book and felt it was written by someone from “Down Under” even though the term soccer was used instead of football and the setting was in Seattle – and – I do believe the author lives in Australia so I was right. This does not detract from the story but it was interesting…as was the story.
If you are looking for a sweet small town holiday romance filled with community and holiday spirit this might be the book for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.
