I loved this!
Harper and Levi’s story is just as compellingly written as Teague and Mateo’s. A dual POV, enemy-to-lovers standalone, Lips Close to Mine is a story that will suck you in. You won’t want to put it down until you’ve reached the last page
DNF around 30%........ something just diidnt work for me on this one
I loved Lips Close to Mine by Robin Bielman. This is a story of two lost souls who have both had a huge loss in their in their lives which greatly affected them. Harper loss her first love, her high school boyfriend, when he drowned at her sweet-sixteen party. Levi’s high school girlfriend pulled on his heartstrings while playing with him, keeping him off-kilter, loving, lying, and repeat, especially using him as she saw fit. Neither Harper nor Levi trusted loving another person, without fearing losing them. This story is about learning to trust oneself and finding love without fear of loss.
I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms. Bielman is a wonderful story teller drawing me into her books, making me forget the world around me and not let me go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
My frist Robin Bielman book and it won't be my last! I did not read the first book in the series and was not lost at all. This story has you hooked right away. I love everything about Levi and Harper. Their history, dialogue, chemistry and families and friends have you enjoying every word in this sweet, sexy story.
This series is SOOOOOO GOOD!!!
OMG - if you loved Teague and Mateo - you are going to love Harper and Levi even more. Levi is to die for over all his swooniness. He runs rings around Mateo, IMO as a book boyfriend. Pants Charming - that is a perfect nickname even if he doesn't know it.
Harper is understandably relationship shy - but she will make you want to scream over her reluctance to let Levi in. And their shared history is so sweet...and the letters - oh my swoon central!! "He's cookies, tequila, and Netflix binges, only better. I mean worse."
So as you can guess - it's not a smooth road for these two. There's Harper's reluctance; the tragic past; Levi's ex; an incident that makes Harper run scared. But you'll still enjoy the ride and appreciate the Teague and Mateo cameos.
Can't wait for the next installment, but pretty sure - no one will compare to Levi.
I submitted a request to the publisher to read and voluntarily review an advance copy of this book via Net Galley.
I don't know where Robin Bielman has been all my life but after reading two of her books, I'm hooked! Lip Close To Mine was a fast-paced read that had me wanting to escape reality. Harper and Levi were relatable and enjoyable. I loved their banter and the progression of their relationship. Even when I was a tad annoyed that they weren't always honest with their feelings, I still loved him. I also always enjoy books that center around a group of friends. And while we didn't get to see a lot of Meteo from Talk British to Me, Teague was in a lot of scenes with Harper.
If your looking for a sexy, fun romance, you've gotta read Lips Close to Mine.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. To read more reviews like this one, check out Obsessive Book Nerd!
Harper slept with Levi in a moment of weakness. She never expected to see him again, but then he's suddenly everywhere, as their respective best friends are dating.
"Here's my problem: I like Levi."
Harper is fearful of love because of a tragedy that haunts her. Her one night with Levi was unforgettable, but she keeps pushing him away because she recognises that he is dangerous to her peace of mind and the well-being of her heart.
"I like her touch. Her nearness. Something in me comes unearthed."
Levi has been burnt by love. He is completely attracted to Harper and is willing to have a no-strings thing with her. However, the more time he spends with her, the more he realises that his feelings are evolving into something else entirely.
"He gives me a sense of hope that is beautiful and terrifying at the same time."
This was a great story about loss, trust, courage and love. Harper is closed off and and lives with guilt from the past. I loved how he awoke real feelings in her, again - taught her how to be happy and to take a chance at love, again.
Levi is still living with some hurt and bitterness, but I loved how invested he felt in Harper and a possible future together. His desire for her was thrilling, and his attraction to her as a person made me melt. I loved that he enjoyed pushing against her boundaries to show her how good they could be together.
This second book in the Wherever You Go series can be read as a standalone but once you read it, you'll want to go back and read Talk British to Me!!
Harper and Levi were featured extensively in book one of this series so I have been waiting, sort of patiently, for their story since I read the last page of Talk British to Me. Harper is a swim instructor who is applying for an ambassador position to bring awareness to water safety. A traumatic event in her youth makes her passionate about the topic but also a little weary of letting people get close. Levi is a cameraman who, because of his own experiences, is reluctant to let women get too close. Since their best friends are dating and they have a history with each other, it seems like these two just can't escape the connection that obviously exists between them.
Levi is one of the swooniest lead characters I've ever read. Both Levi and Harper have been through quite a lot and those experiences keep them from just embracing their chemistry instead of holding each other at an arm's length. This book was much heavier on the angst but all of it seemed purposeful and added to my connection to the characters. I'm really looking forward to where this series goes and seeing HEA for everyone in this group of friends.
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
I had an incredible time reading this book. LIPS CLOSE TO MINE was fresh, light and funny, but also intense and heartwarming, and I hadn't idea that was possible at all. The way the characters were developed was flawless.
When I first read about Levi and Harper, back in TALK BRITISH TO ME, I felt curious about them. Now that I had the chance to read their story I can say I'm totally in love.
Levi is a beautiful character. He's caring and passionate about his work, he's selfless and even though he's been hurt he isn't bitter. He's afraid to get hurt again, and that's perfectly understandable. Mostly he keep his feelings to himself but love is about to surprise him.
Harper is witty, smart and funny, she's a lovely person and a great friend. But Harper has a secret. She thinks she's broken inside and that she isn't capable to love or be loved. Harper is scared. Specially when Levi is in front of her. She thinks if there's someone who can break her heart again that's him and she's not willing to take any chances.
They had to fight their inner demons to find their happy place, they had to face their fears and let behind all that was holding them back, and that kind of step is scary. I felt their fear, but also I felt their love. The feelings wroten by the author traspassed the sheets of the book. Those feelings captivated me since page one till the end. I cried, laughed and sighed with the characters and loved every minute <3
While I was reading this book, I started to feel curious about Elliot and... Madison? I would like to know what's happening with them, lol.
Lips Close to Mine (Wherever You Go) (Volume 2) by Robin Bielman
This is Levi and Harper's story.
Levi and Harper have known each other since they were kids. They also had that one night that they spent together that nobody knows about.
Harper and Levi's story is one filled with fun, happy, hot chemistry, but also loss. Levi and Harper are going through some rough times so their story is a roller coaster ride but in the end they find true love.
FYI, contains mature and graphic language and content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Lips Close to Mine is the second book in the Wherever You Go series by Robin Bielman and is the story of Levi and Harper, who were featured heavily in Talk British to Me. Both Levi and Harper were very good friends of the lead characters in that story, so I knew that there would definitely be some chemistry in this book.
Levi is a one night stand that Harper would never see again. He makes her live complicated and she just can’t have that. Harper pushes Levi away with every snarky comment and rude attitude she can muster but Levi just won’t leave well enough alone.
It’s clear from the start that both Levi and Harper have demons that have not been dealt with as of yet and there is a connection between the two of them as those demons start to resurface.
I enjoyed their banter, the chemistry and the connection between Levi and Harper but I really did not like the secondary drama with an ex popping into the story. I just felt that they had enough to deal with and the ex was an unnecessary part of it.
I did enjoy catching up with the characters from the first book and am looking forward to seeing where Robin Bielman takes the next book.
Lips Close To Mine is only the 2nd book by Robin Bielman that I’ve read so far, the first was the 1st in this series of standalones, Talk British To Me. I have to admit, I was really impressed by that first book, I really, truly loved it. But this one… Miles better. So full of angst and heartache as well as chemistry so tangible you could actually feel it seeping into your bones.
Levi and Harper are truly unforgettable characters. They had so much going for them with their jobs and their lives but meeting up again after hooking up just once wasn’t something that Harper had planned on. She was scared of allowing anyone to get too close. She suffered a terrible loss as a teenager and it affects every encounter she has with the opposite sex.
Levi wasn’t to be deterred though, he knew what he wanted and went for it.
Levi and Harper knew each other as children, and were very close at one point, a fact that is shown so hilariously well in one particular part of the story.
“Levi and I have been naked together,” I manage to eke out through my laughter.
“When we were little,” he adds.
“A lot,” I giggle.
It’s this off-hand comment that shows how deep their connection really goes, no matter how much Harper protests otherwise.
This was a fun, warm and engaging story that took us on a emotional journey with the characters, it could very well have been much heavier if it wasn’t for the humour as well as the sexy games Harper and Levi played. Skinny dipping anyone? Reading more about Teague and Mateo from Talk British To Me was an added bonus and written into the story seamlessly. I can’t wait to read more about not just them, but Levi and Harper in the next installment, when it comes out. Which will be hopefully not be too far in the future.
Robin Bielman is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, and I’m smitten with her latest release, Lips Close to Mine. Levi Pierce and Harper McKinney shared a steamy, unforgettable one-night stand, and now their best friends are dating and they continue to run into each other. Levi wants more nights with Harper, and he turns on the charm to convince her to indulge in a fling. But Harper doesn’t believe in repeats or relationships, because she lost someone she loved in a tragic accident and fiercely protects her heart. Levi assures her that things between them will be purely sexual, because he has his own emotional wounds, but a powerful connection and strong feelings quickly develop, which scares both of them.
As Harper and Levi’s pasts are thoughtfully revealed, I was captivated by their story and thoroughly invested in its resolution. Their journey is touching, heartfelt and inspirational, while also being filled with lighthearted moments and laugh-out-loud humor. Lips Close to Mine is entertaining, adorably sexy and emotionally impactful, and you’ll feel absolutely everything when reading it.
USA Today's Happy Ever After
DNF at 35%.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, despite my initial reservations so I eagerly requested this book from NetGalley. Unfortunately, Levi and Harper are (for me) the two annoying BFFs of the previous book’s h/h.
Harper is an amazing swimmer, like Olympic good, but gave it all up after her childhood sweetheart drowned. Now she teaches kids swimming and is passionate about a charity which tries to prevent children drowning. In fact she is trying to be their ambassador but gets a halfway house job starring in PSA films.
Levi has been in love with Harper forever but hides it behind a cocky know it all persona. The two of them had a one-night stand after which Harper tried to ignore Levi. Through various means Levi gets asked to shoot the PSAs and Harper gets roped into inviting Levi to be her plus one at her cousin’s wedding.
I found Levi’s outward cockiness a turn off and his overly gushy letters that he writes to Harper but never sends read like a 12 year old girl wrote them.
Harper has made up some stupid rule that she will never date or fall in love or something because it was her fault her boyfriend drowned because she should have saved him.
I tried really hard but I didn’t care about the characters and frankly would happily have drowned them!
4.5 Stars
Lips Close to Mine by Robin Bielman is a frenemies to lovers story and I loved it!
The storyline is sweet, emotional and well written. It was easy to follow and the drama was just enough to keep me turning the pages late into the night.
I loved watching Levi and Harper's relationship unfold. They made me laugh, they made me swoon and they touched my heart with their stories. Both Levi and Harper are dealing with past hurts, one with a psycho ex and one with the loss of her first love.
Levi and Harper were wonderful together, I loved how they found comfort, trust and security by opening themselves to love and following their hearts.
Lips Close to Mine is a beautiful love story and a great addition to the Wherever You Go Series.
Each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them.
I'm hoping author Robin Bielman gives us Elliot's book next, that sexy man needs to find his own HEA ;)

Lips Close to Mine by Robin Bielman is the second book in the Wherever You Go Series.
Book one, Talk British to Me, is Teague and Mateo´s story.
Lips Close to Mine is Harper and Levi´s book. Every book can easily be ead as a standalone, there are only a few cross-over.
Harper McKinney is a swim trainer and Teague´s best friend. She´s good people. She had a ONS with Levi Pierce, and now he shows up everywhere. Levi is a cameraman and travels the world. Somehow she like/loves him, he´s irresistible.
And then she desperatedly needs a date for her cousin´s wedding. Levi agrees, because he can´t get her out of his head too. But Harper ´´s issues make a relationship very difficult.
Favorite Quote: " Your heart is your friend, not your enemy, listen to it."
Lips Close to Mine had me hooked from page one. I read the book in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down.
The story is great and I loved the writing, the words and the charcters.
I give 5 stars. Thank you, Robin Bielman !
What happens when your best childhood friend, the one who your parents all thought would end up marrying, is also someone you had a one night stand with that you can’t forget? Not only that, but he’s also the best friend of your best friend’s boyfriend so you keep meeting? Hurt by tragic events on her sixteenth birthday, Harper is definitely anti-long term relationships but she really likes Levi . . . . and he says he has always wanted her. Can she overcome her fears? Can he keep on being resilient and ignoring her rejections to fight for their romance?
I’ve read several books by Robin Bielman and enjoyed them all. She brings her characters to life in the pages of her books, sharing their flaws alongside their trials and tribulations. There are many laugh out loud moments in this fun read which is delightful to escape into and I have no hesitation in highly recommending. It is a great addition to the series but still works well as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this author in future.
I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Another must read from Robin Bielman. A story that will have you laughing, crying and reaching for a glass of whiskey is the perfect weekend bookcation.
What would you do if your childhood playmate grew up and was the only one to push those buttons? One hot night, a crazy bet, and two people who will learn to trust ignite the pages.
I loved the tension, the chemistry, and the discovery of what happened to bring these two to the edge of tragedy. We have all loved and had our heart broken, this story is a journey of self discovery and the ability to love, unconditionally despite the fear of what may happen.
All grown up, Harper and Levi are playing a much different game, the rules are different and the stakes are higher. Levi will ruin you for another book boyfriend, but that's ok. He's totally worth it!
An emotional story that pushes two people to come to terms with their traumatic past and learn to trust. Trust in each other, their family and most of all themselves.
Lips Close to Mine by Robin Bielman is book Two in the "Wherever You Go" series. This is the story of Levi and Harper . I haven't read the first book yet but feel this was easily a standalone book.
Harper was hurt when she was younger and with that experience has made her not do permanent relationships with men. So when she sees Levi and he charms his way into what she plans to be a one night stand...she thinks that is that. But now Levi is everywhere she turns and has even taken to be excepted as he boyfriend with friends and family. Granted that they once where childhood friends but now it has turned into more. But is it too much for Harper to handle or is it exactly what she needs?
