Two Dukes Are Better Than One is a steamy historical romance filled with forbidden love and unexpected twists. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and the tarot card mystery adds an intriguing element. This book will keep you hooked until the end, eager to discover the trio's fate. A captivating read for fans of historical romance.
I've had this book on my TBR for awhile and unfortunately couldn't really get into it. Maybe it's just not the right genre for me but I couldn't get into the plot or the characters.
Ahem, I am blushing as I write this review..... certainly not in my genre but for some reason, I was asked to read it. Now, the book itself probably had about 20% of a plot and the rest was really just amazing sex. We are thrust into the life of Lady Sophia Hodges whose mother has died and she is using tarot cards to summon her presence. Enter Cromwell Stone who Sophia is to be betrothed to and his friend/nemeses Huxley Brigmore. The story starts to unfold more rapidly into a ménage a trois-ish type of relationship between the three of them while carrying out the fantasies of Lady Sophia. Overall this book is well written and if you love books in this genre, you will certainly love this one.
Thank you to netgalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Incredible book I loved every minute of i This book has amazing characters and the story was so great I loved everything bout this story. This Book is so HOT
I'm always a fan of MFM romances and especially historical ones with dukes are all the better! This is a well-written love story and I enjoyed reading about Stone, Brigmore, and Sophia.
I gave this 3.5 Stars.
I'm always a fan of a steamy, historical romance.
I enjoyed this. The story is sexy and the plot is dramatic and exciting. There are a few things that could have been done a bit better. The plot lends itself to the more quicky erotic reads but the romance itself makes up for the lack of plot development and detailing.
Two Dukes Are Better Than One, or so Sophia Hodges comes to believe. While she thought she was in love with one Duke, another slipped in and also took her heart. But the way to bliss is not always an easy road to follow. Between reading the tarot cards, tea leaves and being blackmailed, can this trio find true happiness? Will society think ill of them for loving each other? Only time will tell and if you want to find out the answer to THAT question, you will have to read the book!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book in return for a honest opinion.
Let’s face it, no one is reading this book for the plot, which was confusing and a little silly. I didn’t love the heroine’s fascination with tarot and the occult, which featured in said plot. But for what it was (historical MFM erotica with two actual English dukes), it was fairly entertaining.
This book was hot. Well written but it wasn't able to hold my attention for more than a few pages at a time. I would recommend this historically set romance.
Hot romance abounds in this book. I enjoy a good duke romance and this one gives you two hot dukes as our heroes. I enjoyed the romance they had with our heroine and read this pretty quickly because it was hard to put down. The mystery is not great and I thought the resolution odd, but the romance more than makes up for that.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.
Two Dukes are Better than one is historical erotica best enjoyed when you’re looking for a quick read that is pretty mindless. Although the sex scenes were pretty good, the plot was flimsy at best. I felt a build up to what I was hoping was a good mystery and storyline but then it fell flat quickly. I like my erotica to also have a storyline and this missed the mark. Sadly, I won’t be recommending it and will not post my review on social media since it’s a negative one.
I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book from NetGalley. Ms. James put together genres I enjoy. Erotica, regency romance. Sometimes, you really do just want a book that you don't have too much thinking to do. This was it. I give this book a Five for sexiness, a three for plot. So, this book averaged out to Four for me. I do love the aristocracy! Let's not fool ourselves that these kinds of things did not happen in those times! I think this may have been passed from generation to generation. LOL!
Very raunchy little tale of a menage relationship between two regency era dukes and a curious lady.
I enjoyed this story precisely for the bawdy scenes between the three. There didn't need deep input from me in order to just enjoy the simplicity of the storyline.
I appreciated the intriguing subplot of attempted blackmail and kidnapping.
I also liked the fortune telling aspects the author included. This leant an air of authenticity to an otherwise uncomplicated tale.
I would happily read more from this author.
This is a fast read. An erotic menage historical. I enjoyed the story, the characters and even the tarot and tea leaves! A delightful way to pass an afternoon.
Two are certainly better than one! LOL I enjoyed this tale. There was plenty of steam. But I wish there was a little more to the mystery and maybe a settlement with Stone's brother.
I enjoyed this regency menage story, I liked the characters of both men even though they were rogues. Sophia's innocence and utter infatuation with a certain book made her first sexual experiences with the men very enjoyable. There was genuine feelings between all parties which was nice, and a mystery to solve as well. It was a shortish story but a fun one.
Thanks to NetGalley and Riverdale Avenue Books for a copy in return for an honest review.
Steamy and fun, but too racy for my small Southern town patrons. It would get challenged as indecent pretty quickly by the pearl-clutchers. I would definitely recommend to my friends and colleagues though.
I liked this book but I didn’t love it. I felt the flow was great until the end and then suddenly we’re at the epilogue. Like huh?? It was well written otherwise. I felt like Frances and Malcom’s and Abby’s characters could have been a bit more developed.
This was a fun, sexy, guilty pleasure, quick read. Not sure about purchasing for the library collection, but I really enjoyed it for a nice change of pace!
This book was HOT. I haven't read many MFM books that I enjoyed, and this book broke that mold. I was actually interested in the plot, and I never felt the need to skim to the juicy parts. Also, there was genuine affection and attraction between the three lovers, with Sophie taking charge and not being a passive participant in the love-making.
