Two Dukes are Better than One by Lorna James
This is a fun, interesting, and quick read of two competative brothers when it comes to women...
I will be looking for more from Lorna.

“I fear that I am wicked…”
“Darling, I’m counting on that…”

Lady Sophia Hodges knows she’s not like the other ladies of the ton. Having an appetite to try new and exciting adventures, Sophia discovers a book that is not to be judged by its cover. Rather than religious writings, Sophia is swept into an erotic fantasy that has her heart racing and her body begging for more.

Duke Cromwell Stone is a man known to take his pleasures and consequences be damned. But when he stumbles upon Lady Sophia and her naughty book, he is determined to introduce this young novice to his world of sensuality…a world that includes his best friend and known rival, Duke Huxley Brigmore. Together, Stone and Huxley awaken Sophia to the pleasures of the flesh and open their hearts to a love like no other.

This was my first read from author Lorna James, and I look forward to reading future releases. I’m in total agreement with her character Lady Sophia in this book “Why didn’t they throw library parties, where everyone wore comfortable clothes and read books?” That sounds like a dream come true to me! Two Dukes are Better than One is an entertaining M/F/M erotic read with a historical setting and a touch of a paranormal element. Enjoyed and would recommend.

An erotic romp with two dukes and a dutchess. I just wish there was more. Either more romance or more character development or more sex. It’s kind of in the middle on all three aspects.

This was a fun, easy read. The title of the book says it all about the plot. I will read more from this author.

This was a good read. It was a short book that only took a few hours to read. I enjoyed Sophia, Stone, and Huxley. The three of rhem were good together and I think the author did a good job with this book. The story was overshadowed by the erotica and romance but it was fine for me. I'll be checking out another book by Lorna James for sure.

What a fun and sexy story! The dialogue is quaint, I can "hear" the old-fashioned accents in my head while I read! The scenes are well thought out, and I very much enjoyed this story! Can't wait to read more! Thank you!

Overall this book was a good read. There were some parts that dragged on and a few grammatical errors that sometimes took away from the story as the reader tried to keep the story straight.

This one I requested because the title gave me a bit of a laugh, and the content seemed steamy and interesting - not often will you come across a repeating menage such as this. However, while the sex scenes and all that leading up to them were extremely steamy and quite well-written, the plot holding it all together - I refer mostly to the intrigue around the medium and the tarot cards - was drawn out for a really long time before all of a sudden coming to a conclusion with one of the main characters Aunts just explaining everything (although her explanations didn't make a whole lot of sense to me). It felt as if the 'bad' characters didn't really get much of a come-uppance, I never really felt that much that the main character was in any danger - which I think was the author's intent, and the resolution just felt rushed overall.

I did enjoy the story between the main three characters, though, and I thought it could actually be surprisingly sweet at different moments. I think if the last few chapters were reworked to give more of an ending that made sense - or if the Aunt character was introduced much earlier as a guiding hand for the lead female - then this book could really be something special.

Two dukes are better than one was wonderful short erotic MMF read I trully enjoyed. If not the name and the cover, the blurb would totally grab my interest in wanting to read this story.

And let me tell you it was steaming journey leaving you all hot and bothered.

The two dukes slowly preparing Lady Sofia for her wedding night, the reading of erotic manuscript, the search for mysterious letter which should reveal long buried secret combined with reading cards and tea leaves make this book to one page turner.

I devoured it within few hours and would surely recommend it to everyone who loves menage a trois.

I’ve read a decent amount of historical romance novels and felt that this was well written. The language used seemed accurate for the timeframe, as did the characterization. I enjoyed how the two men didn’t fight over Sophia, instead sharing her. The steamy scenes were quite nice although I wished there were more. There was a conflict in the plot at one point but it seemed a bit rushed towards the end. I enjoyed the supernatural elements such as the tarot cards, but wasn’t entirely certain if the occurrences were true supernatural events or simply coincidence. Overall I enjoyed this book.

Alright, so everyone wants their cake and eat it too....but this book gives you much more than that. SHE FALLS IN LOVE WITH A MAN, marries another but she can still BE WITH THE MAN SHE LOVES?! I couldn't get enough of this book. Romance literally drips from this book. Great read and the words......ugh the words that were said made me dream of a love that was similar.

Boring. A plot would have been helpful. Erotic is fun, but i need a story too. I struggled to finish reading it.

A naive young woman finds and reads and erotic book that makes her curious about unusual sex. This in turn makes to supposedly feuding dukes interest in her. Although I enjoyed the concept and the sex was pretty hot, the family mystery and peril was resolved too quickly.

I like historical romances and ménage is a major weakness of mine. Somehow I've never read a combo of the two before. How have I never done that, it's awesome. Sophia is extremely innocently naive but I felt it was written well. (I've read naive before where I wanted to smack them. Not the case here) I felt it genuinely added to the plot. The angst build up between the three was on point. And seriously that book she kept referencing, can it be real. No really. I've never read this author (or combo pen name of authors really) but I will be searching for more books now.

Refreshing twist
I enjoyed the main character.Although a product of her era, with little control over her life, she was no simpering miss. Her honest desire to explore and accept her sexuality made this an enjoyable read. I do wish this book was longer as it would have allowed for more development of the characters. It was a quick fun read but more of a novella than a book.

This is my first thing I’ve by this author but not my last.

I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I liked that this was a quick read with some plot and character development. However, I felt that the tarot cards and supernatural elements weren’t really developed enough so it felt a little out of place. This was a great quick weekend read. Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC!

This was a fluffy, fast and fun erotic read. If you want to pass some time reading some hot menage action, you'll enjoy this book.

If you really enjoy the historical aspects of erotica stories, you won't find much of that here. The time period didn't seem ver.y real to me. I just found it hard to believe that the naive, virgin heroine would tell a duke who is basically a stranger how she was enthralled with a story about two men pleasing a woman . Someone she really didn't know, and she was in love with someone else? Also, the supernatural aspect just didn't seem to belong here. But as I stated, if you want enjoyable erotica with not much of a story, don't hesitate to read this. I'll give this author another shot.

If you like erotic historical menage, you will love this book. This was quite nice MFM romance and I loved those characters. The Lady Sophia is just like me, and sometimes when I read this book, I had feelings that this is just like me. Well, some what Lady Sophia says were what I think also use if I got similar situations. A plot was nice and not too hot but also it wasn't too light. Sometimes there were parts where I wished more emotions but overall, it was a quick, easy and nice to read, when reading is almost only thing what you supposed doing when temperatures are so highs outside of houses.

So Many things went wrong with this book... from unbelievable characters to nonexistent plot via such strange working That made me cringe or roll my eyes.
Good MFM story Would captivate me, but here I am bored and angry at That book... meh...
Also Time setting and "frivolous virgin" going Like That is not what I find well... accurate There.
I will not try anything written by Ms. Lorna James again for sure - and with That, I was wondering if any editor or beta reader had ever read it before publishing?
Also where The hell Magic thing came That was put in The end out of nowhere... a whole book was about normal World...

This book is steamy and involve a couple of dreamy Dukes. This was a quick read but had a decent plot. This is often not the case with the erotic genre. I wish the book would have been longer as I felt the ending was kind of anticlimactic. I enjoyed the mystical aspect of the book as well. If you enjoy a well-written book containing historical erotica, this is the book for you. I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley.
