OH MY GAWD - JESSE WARD IS BACK!!!!

I was soooo excited to read this - The This Man Trilogy is one of my all time favourite reads, I just couldn't get enough of Jesse and Ava and their unique relationship. But I was a little nervous, could Jodi pull off the massively difficult task of making Book 4 just as good as the other 3??

The Wards are now owners of an elite gym, the twins Maddie and Jacob are now 12 yrs old and are quite used to their Mum and Dad's unique style of relationship. Jesse is about to hit the big 5-0 birthday, and he's less than impressed by this!! But in general life itself couldn't get any better, Jesse and Ava have everything they have ever wanted and are still blissfully happy.

But tragedy strikes out of the blue, sending their world into a complete spiral. Ava is involved in a car accident and suffers from a horrible head injury. Jesse and his children are devastated and their world hangs in the balance as they wait and see if Ava recovers.

She regains consciousness and Jesse heaves a massive sigh of relief, only to be plunged into the depths of despair as it becomes apparent that Ava has amnesia, and cannot remember the last 16 yrs of her life - to Ava, Jesse and their twins don't exist, she has no memories at all, and Jesse has the fight of his life on his hands to get Ava to fall in love with him all over again, after everything they have been through!!!

Oh my goodness, within the first few pages of starting this I blissfully back on Central Jesse Cloud Nine and loving it!! The family of the Wards was just as I imagined it would be - Jesse still is domineering, possessive, dirty and beautiful self and Ava is still as sassy as ever, loving Jesse with everything she is, pushing all his buttons, bringing light to his world. Their twins Maddie and Jacob and like mini me's of their parents - Maddie is just like Ava - sassy, fiery, mouthy, knows how to push Dad's buttons and knows how to wrap him round her finger. Jacob is just like Jesse in looks, but is very laid back in his temperament, very supportive and loving. They are used to Mum and Dad's spontaneous showings of affection, in keeping with Jesse's saying to Ava of "Wherever, whenever". I loved it!! I was laughing out loud at their antics and had a permanent smile on my face.

Until I didn't.

Until Ava has her accident. Then I was heartbroken. Jesse was heartbroken, completely lost, vulnerable. And then you find out she has no memories of their life together - I was floored, I could only imagine how Jesse felt!!!

Jesse has the battle of all battles, trying to making Ava fall back in love with him, when he was always of the opinion he didn't deserve her love in the first place, how the hell was he supposed to get her to love him and his ways a second time!!!

What an emotional read this is!!! I went through a massive range of emotions reading this, being brought back into Jesse's world, but under such heartbreaking circumstances - you get ALL THE FEELS HERE - love, laughter, passion, angst, heartbreak, anger, frustration, hope - I was a wreck!!!

Saying that, this was an utter pleasure to read, to be back full circle in Jesse's world. The writing is phenomenal, the story immersive, completely captivating, and the characters are an absolute joy. I couldn't put it down and was utterly invested in their story. If you've read any of JEM's books, particularly This Man Series, you will love this. Told mainly from Jesse's POV, which is a bloody treat in itself, the story direct from The Lord himself!!! And the ending, wow, just perfect in my mind, brings everything to a fabulous close!!

I can't recommend this enough!!! Utterly brilliant!!! 5 stars come nowhere near close enough for this one. Paradise for me will always be wherever Jesse Ward is!!

“I meant it, baby. Forever isn’t over yet. Never will be, not for us. I love you. You are the best part of me, Ava. The greatest part. That can’t be forgotten.”

We’re not going to lie, we were very hesitant when we heard Jesse and Ava were getting another book; one in which Ava would suffer a memory loss that meant losing their tumultuous, passionate, intense and obsessive history. Losing their magnificent love story. We’ll admit we went back and forth on whether to read it or not but of course as soon as it landed on our kindles we dropped everything and got stuck in. This is Jesse after all, no one waits for Jesse, right? Three…two…one….zero, baby.

‘Every move this man makes, everything he says, all his facial expressions and reactions, they all touch me somewhere deep, and my gut tells me it’s all okay. Everything is fine. Instinct tells me how to love him. My mind tells me how to handle him. I’m slowly putting it all together, figuring him out. He is the biggest part of who I am.’

We were sucked back into their world immediately, feeling as if we never left. There is no question, this is Jodi Ellen Malpas at her best. This series is her best, this couple is her best. This series is synonymous with this Author. It was perfection. Truly wonderful. With This Man is a story we didn’t know we needed nor craved. We can finally say we have read the ultimate ending to one of our favourite series and it made us laugh, cry and swoon with our hearts in a puddle on the floor. From the first page to the last we were riveted, feeling as if we were back with old friends. All our hesitancy and uncertainty vanished within the first sentences. This is without question one of the best revisits we’ve ever read to a series we hold so close to our hearts.

“Jesse?” she murmurs sleepily in my ear, and I hum my prompt for her to go on. “I think I’m falling in love with you.”

‘Remember, I demand silently, boring holes into the back of her head, willing the memories to rise to the surface. Remember me. Remember us.’

When Authors decide to write another book in a much loved series that takes the direction of a much treaded path you get wary, however, this storyline was written and handled in such a way that it felt fresh and exciting. There was no repetition nor rehashing of storyline, rather- it felt completely new and exciting. A new chapter if you will. With This Man was brilliantly written and it was so easy to slip back into the lives of Jesse and Ava. Jodi Ellen Malpas is without question completely at ease with her characters, this story coming naturally thus it was a joy to read. It felt effortless.

“You accepted me because you were as hopelessly in love with me as I was with you. You couldn’t be without me, either. You let me take the lead and you followed willingly. You let me lavish you with the attention and suffocation, because you knew it’s what I needed. You learned how to deal with me, Ava, and you are the only person in this world who can.”

We’re not going to go into specifics as every reader who loves this series as much as we do should experience it like we did. We have to say; experiencing this story from mainly Jesse’s pov broke our hearts, whilst the man is still infuriatingly cocky and controlling, he loves Ava and their kids with a passion that seconds nothing and no one. He has a mammoth fight on his hands as a consequence of Ava’s memory loss; however this is ‘The Lord’ we’re talking about here, he can trample anything and anyone; especially something that negatively impacts his marriage to the love of his life; the wonderful and sassy, Ava. Their banter was hilarious, their passion intense and their love for one another immense. Nothing will stand in their way and we were reminded of everything that makes their love so incredibly special.

“I can see why I fell in love with you,” she whispers, grazing her palms over my stubble.

“Because I’m an Adonis in bed?”

“And out of bed….You’re the perfect mix of man. Big, strong, passionate, devoted. You love with everything you have.”

“And I’m nothing without you.”

“And everything with me.”

We really don’t have enough words nor accolades for With This Man, it had everything and more with added ghosts from the past as well as a surprising suspense. But mostly, it was about a love that proves it can conquer anything and everything placed in its way.

‘I’m human. I’m a dad. A husband. My family is both my biggest weakness and my greatest strength. I live and breathe for them, and that will never change. Until the day I die, it will always be about them.’

It's been 13 years since Jesse 'stalked' his way into Ava's life and heart. And he's just as crazy mad as he's always been! ☺

The Wards live a very happy life. Instead of a sex club they now run an elite gym!
Their twins Maddie and Jacob are twelve already!
Everything is perfect. Even though Jesse is a bit sad at the moment, because he's turning 50!!!

Then ... Ava has a serious car accident. She wakes up from her coma after a few days, but she's forgotten the last 16 years of her life. Jesse, the kids, everything.

She thinks she's a 22 year old single girl.

description

Poor Jesse. He's so sad and heartbroken. But he's not giving up. He needs to make Ava remember him and the kids.

description

Challenge accepted. He'll make her fall in love with him again - he did it once - he'll be able to do it again!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH AVA & JESSE???
WILL EVERYTHING TURN OUT OK???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

AWWWWWW!

It's been such a long time since those first three books!
And now Jesse is back!

And I just loved this book. Even more than the first ones I think. It somehow has a completely different feel to it. As if it was written by someone else. Or there was an amazing editor involved ;)

The beginning of the book is so very Jesse. Fun and crazy mad and peanut butter and adorable and sexy.

And then the accident happens and it just breaks our hearts!
Poor Jesse.

But he's not giving up. He'll fight until his last breath to make sure that Ava remembers their life.

JANEANE

This is a book that I didn't know I needed.

I was completely happy with the way Jesse Ward had trampled through my life and how the 3rd book ended.

However I had to read With This Man, just to find out where the Lord Of The Manor was today.

What a ride we were taken on with Jesse, Ava and their twins. It was heartbreaking, hopeful, funny, sweet, sexy.

It was wonderful to get more of Sam, John and Drew also.

I loved how Jesse, older and (maybe, maybe not) wiser is still trampling Ava and now his kids. I love how they don't take his crap, I love how they fight back (just like their mother!).

I am not usually a fan of extra books thrown on to the end of a series, however With This Man is a wonderful exception.

So grab your jar of peanut butter and a comfy chair and dive right in.

When I first heard Jodi Ellen Malpas was releasing a fourth book in the This Man series, I was a bit nervous. I was nervous that it wouldn't feel like a cohesive part of the journey between Jesse and Ava Ward, nervous that time might have changed my affection for this couple, nervous that With This Man might feel like an unnecessary addition to a perfectly complete series. Boy, was I wrong. Yes, there should definitely be nerves as you enter this book, but not the kind I anticipated. I should've been nervous about all I'd be made to feel on these pages. I should've been nervous for what Jesse and Ava would face. I should've been nervous about the heartache and the joy that would overcome me. But I never for a second should've worried about what a fantastic story Jodi Ellen Malpas had in store.

This was one of those books that called to me every time I was forced to set it down. It crept into my dreams and it demanded I pick it right back up when I woke. I was CONSUMED by the heartbreaking turn of events that evolves in With This Man. I was overwhelmed by how much I loved it, by how hard I'd fall for Jesse Ward all over again. I was so IN THIS STORY, engulfed by the intensity of Jesse, by the frustratingly difficult but exquisitely romantic circumstances in these pages. It was everything. Every. Thing.

JEM takes us into the current state of the blissfully romantic marriage of Jesse and Ava, showing us exactly where this unforgettable couple is twelve years after we last saw them. She reminds her reader precisely why Jesse and Ava intoxicated us with their gritty love story and why they remain a top favorite couple, but then she turns their world upside down and with it, she upturns the world of her readers, delivering a heartbreaking, wholly unforgettable story that I never wanted to end.

Jesse Ward is still the same controlling, protective, trampling sex God he was at 38. But now, at 50, he's a doting father of preteens and a devoted husband whose world still revolves around his wife. The lace, the countdowns, the bathtub talks and the retribution sex pepper this story, taking the reader right back to where it all began, reminding us of why we love this couple so damn much. But with the tragedy that occurs at the beginning of this book, a horrifying accident that steals Ava's memories and forces Jesse to start from scratch in winning her affections, a new, refreshing, unpredictable story is born. The forceful, mouthy Jesse has to change tactics. He has to bite back his demands and romance his wife in ways that aren't always natural for him. And it's beautiful to watch, gut wrenching to experience, and deliciously satisfying in the end. But true to form, secrets are kept, truths are withheld, complications arise and a messy story ensues.

This book tore at my heart strings but it also gave me deliciously giddy feelings as I got to sit back and watch Jesse and Ava fall all over again, revisiting the past in a way that makes me want to go back to the beginning and reread the entire series again and again. This book was so much better than anything I ever expected, so emotionally gripping, so completely addictive. I love Jesse and Ava even more than I thought possible after reading With This Man. This is the PERFECT addition to this series. Everything that drew me to the first three books-- the sensuality, the treachery, the villains, the jealousy, the addiction, the dialogue, the romance, the friendships, the peanut butter, the obsession-- it all comes full circle in this fourth installment and IT IS PERFECTION. I laughed. I hurt. I was infuriated. I was overwhelmed. This book is EVERYTHING I could've dreamed of getting from THIS MAN but never imagined I would. I absolutely LOVED IT.
