I loved this very readable and practical book. It’s helped me take a new look at my early morning devotional routine and how it affects the rest of my day. I’ve began using several of her simple suggestions, and it’s making a difference in not only my Bible study, but my mindset for the rest of the day. I enjoyed her observations from her own life. I highly recommend this one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest opinion about this book. This is my honest opinion about this book.

I have to be honest, I didn't think I was going to like this book. I am not a morning person, and have tried to be for much of my life. I had heard about "Hello Mornings" and even accessed the blog many times, but felt skeptical. Then, I opened the book and by the end of chapter 1, I was hooked. Kat Lee's tone, sense of humour, and writing style caught me! The promise of a simple 3-minute morning routine certainly grabbed my attention, and as I read the book, I found myself nodding, highlighting, making notes & thinking - "Yes! This is what I've been looking for."
I have already recommended this book to several other 'non-morning' friends, and will continue to do so.

I first became familiar with Kat Lee when I was looking for accountability with Bible study and ran across a Hello Mornings group. This book is full of helpful advice about how to become a "morning" person, even if you are a night owl. Lee offers strategies to help the reader incorporate movement, Bible study, and organization into a morning routine to get a jump start on the day. Her small steps are doable, and she then provides suggestions about how to vamp up these habits. Definitely a premise I will return to again and again. Would highly recommend for someone trying to figure out how to prioritize their day.

"Hello Mornings" was a joy to read. I literally could not put down this book. Kat Lee writes in a very engaging way, and I look forward to reading this book multiple times. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a way to approach mornings. All it takes is a few minutes, and she gives excellent tips to help us refocus our mornings - even if we have little ones at home (which I don't, but this approach is very doable even with chronic illness and I appreciate that!). This is a book worthy of reading and implementing its tools. A must read!

I understood the crux of the book. It disappointed me due to over explanation, the examples, elaboration got all rambling. It took away from the book, if you are someone who wants detailed explanations and things spelled out very specific, go for it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kat Lee for allowing me to read and review this book. Unfortunately, it was not for me. 2 stars.

I have read a lot of books about rest. I have read a few books on improving yourself in the mornings. But this one takes the cake. Kat speaks to you from a place that she knows all too well, and she knows that you are there too. It isn't something revolutionary, but it is something manageable. Instead of asking me to make a big change (the last morning book I read did ask for a big change and it burned me out in the mornings so I wasn't successful), she asked me to start small, but meaningful, and then to grow it. As much as I would love a beautiful end product, I'm in a stage of "give me something I can do NOW." If you are feeling burned out in one or multiple areas of your life and need to feel like you can take small steps to refresh yourself, this book is worth a read.

Thanks to my friends at NetGalley.com for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was not a good fit for me so it would be unfair to criticize it for the main reason I found it so irrelevant to me and my life. The author premises the entire book on "extreme" (to me) Christianity. Not for me. Other than that, I give her credit for an engaging, coffee-klatch, writing style.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Hello Mornings digs deep into Kat Lee's three-minute morning and the reasoning behind it. Though I've never been a morning person, this book has me wanting to try and spend my mornings first with God again. This simple approach of starting small and building small habits is the encouragement I needed to believe that I could actually spend mornings with God once again. Lee reminds us that our mornings are covered in grace and it's more about progress than perfection. I'm one who often gives up when things get difficult, but Lee breaks down the reasons why people often give up and gets to the heart of the matter. By building habits, one at a time, you too can learn to say Hello to your mornings and start your day focused on God.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is my own, honest opinion.

What a wonderful book! I really enjoy the author's relatable voice in writing, and found myself smiling throughout. I would love to sit down with the author and a cup of coffee- what a great conversationalist she must be! This book was so encouraging, and really outlines an easy way to make your spiritual life priority in your overall life! Such practical wisdom that can apply to anyone. I recommend this book to anyone who has been wanting to go deeper with the Lord, but just can't seem to figure it out. This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so thankful she mentioned it!

This is a must read for all busy women. Kat shows us how to plan our days being giving God the first few minutes of it. She gives very pratical tips to create daily habits that set us up for success.

I truly enjoyed this book. I am not a morning person and have struggled for years with the imagined guilt of not being able to get up early enough to have a quiet time with God before my day begins. I already get up at 5:30, and I didn't see how I could fit anything else in. Enter Kat's gentle encouragement to try 3 minutes. Everyone has 3 minutes. After a while, 3 minutes may not be enough, and I may want more, but for now, I can do 3.

The author's casual, encouraging tone makes her sound like she's already a friend, without resorting to the chummy sort of slang that other authors have tried. This book was a pleasure to read, and Kat's suggestions that have been simple to implement and use.

I'm not a morning person. I've wanted to be a morning person since I was a teenager. I've bought countless fancy journals thinking that would make me want to get up and have quiet time with God. It's been my goal constantly.
I love the concept of this book. I honestly went into reading it thinking it was going to be a waste of my time. I'm 37. If I haven't figured out how to be a morning person in more then 20 years of trying this wasn't going to change anything.
What I found in this book was permission. Something I really didn't even know I needed. My morning routine doesn't need to look like anyone else's. That will be ok. What is important is for the whole month of January so far I've started my morning with scripture. I'm taking it slow and adding things in as I can.
I will probably never have the picture perfect morning of coffee, bible, fancy journal all curled up and cozy before the sun comes up. What I am developing is a rhythm that makes sense for me right now.
Will be going back and re-reading parts of this book over and over!

I highly recommend this book. Her personal story had me tearing up twice within the first few chapters. She has created a wonderful morning routine that you can start with only three minutes a day. She encourages you that it doesn’t matter how many times you may have tried and failed to have a quiet time in the morning to please try this plan. Her goal of the book is for us to have a relationship with God. She is also the founder of hello mornings.org. I recommend checking it out also for additional resources and support.
It doesn’t matter if we are morning people or not we can start this plan. It’s a three minute morning routine. All of us have three minutes that we can spare. The first part of the book shares why mornings are important. The second part gives us a blueprint on how our daily routine can work. In the third part she offers tools to help make the morning routine a consistent part of our life.
So the three minute routine consists of
1. Read / Memorize / Pray Psalms 143:8.
2. Review your calendar for the day.
3. Drink a glass of water.

Now that seems extremely doable for all of us. We can start our day with purpose. We can remember why we do what we do and we can fill our tanks so that we can serve. It’s progress not perfection. It’s those small things that we do day after day that build up and have big impacts.
Our will power is strongest in the morning before all the craziness of the day invades our life.
She challenges us to track our time in 15 or 30 minute increments. She said it’s well worth it to understand where you’re spending your time and where you can take something out and add more value added activities into it.
Questions to ask ourselves:
where you spending most of your time?
Am I getting enough sleep?
Does any of my schedule need to change?
Are we taking time for personal refreshment?

One of my favorite quotes from the book wise. “Never underestimate the impact of your life and the effect of living it well in”. The verse that she has us read is Psalms 143:8. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Hello Mornings is an inspiring book that is based upon a really simple 3-minute, 3-step routine that helps you begin your day by focusing on God first – then establishing your plans for the day – then doing something healthy. While Kat offers specific steps to get you started, she also provides workbook style guidance – with space for journaling – to help you identify any potential barriers to getting started and to help you customize the plan so that it fits your personality, lifestyle and season in life.

Hello Mornings is a personal growth book that will help you to grow spiritually and to be more effective in managing your time and taking care of yourself.

Hello Mornings by Kat Lee explains that it is possible to wake up for your life and not just to your life. Kat Lee runs three successful podcasts—The Inspired to Action podcast, the Hello Mornings podcast, and the How They Blog podcast. I have long enjoyed her podcasts and was excited to pick up this book to learn more about her philosophy of waking up early to change your life. Her plan is surprisingly simple to implement and highly effective when I have used it. I would highly recommend this book as a quick read for anyone who wants to live their life with purpose and not simply reactively. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review.

Kat Lee has one of my favorite podcasts (Inspired to Action), so I was excited to read her new book. Hello Mornings is a Christian how-to book on setting up easy, quick habits to make your life run better and with intention. I appreciated how easy it is to set up - 3 minutes is all you need, and you can expand it as time allows. But what I appreciated most is that if life gets hectic, you can always scale back to the three minute routine and begin again. The author has a very calming tone in her book, staying away from a preachy voice I often hear when reading books on forming habits. I would encourage young Christian moms that want more intention in their morning routines to read this book, and look forward to seeing more from this author.

Hello Mornings presents an easy method to take control of your mornings. The method is simple and doable, but buried in a lot of information.

The morning routine method in this book is helpful. It’s a great way to make a healthy change without causing you to become even more overwhelmed; in fact, it will likely alleviate stress.

I plan on trying the morning routine as well as two other ideas. I loved the idea of making tiny goals instead of New Year’s resolutions. That way, you’re more likely to accomplish them.

I also like the part about building habits. The process progresses slowly. You start with an action that’s so tiny, you can do it no matter what and without thinking. If, after building up to bigger actions, you have to scale down, you can fall back on that first habit, instead of quitting altogether.

The book offers a wealth of ideas, which is good since just about everyone, regardless of personality, can benefit from at least some of them. The main problem for me was that I already spend a lot of time planning my schedule and figuring out how to improve, and so some of these ideas are ones I’d already thought of. In addition, many of the examples and scientific studies were already familiar to me.

This book takes a long time to get to the practical stuff. I came looking for a quick, sparse, practical, and simple morning routine. It was all those things, except sparse. Just about every point gets an example of some kind—a story or metaphor.

The early chapters are about getting to know yourself, but personality tests, mission statements, and time tracking are all activities I’ve done before. If that’s you, too, you can probably skip these chapters.

The quick review list at the end of the book is helpful because you can finish the book knowing what you need to do next.

I recommend reading this if you need a better morning routine, but be ready to do some skimming.
