A great title to purchase for a very popular trend at the time. Best for public libraries looking to build their cookbook collection and reach out to those looking to get into Keto.

I'm excited to try these recipes, since my cooking experience growing up did not include keto recipes, and whenever I try to get too creative the results don't always turn out well -- so I'm very glad to have a blueprint! I'm a little worried about keto desserts, but hope that I will be pleasantly surprised!

My husband and I are just getting our feet wet in the keto diet world, so I was eager to review a new keto recipe book.

I really appreciated the beginning section that explained the keto diet. I really liked that she co-wrote the book with a clinical researcher. However, many of the recipes had very exotic ingredients that I simply cannot obtain at my small-town, Midwestern grocery story. I would probably have to drive two hours to the big city to find a grocery store that had some of these. Quite honestly, some of the ingredients I had never even heard of, and I’ve been cooking a long time. Also, some of the recipes had a relatively high carb count which could throw someone out of ketosis.

Overall, I’m glad I read the cookbook. But I think there are other books out there that meet my needs more than this one.

I gratefully received this book as an eARC from the author, publisher, and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Great recipes! It has really helped expand our choice of meals and help me learn a few substitutions for meals I was already making.

I couldn't get this book to download. I tried a couple of times and now it is no longer available for me to download. I've never had this problem before, so I'm not sure what went wrong.

***Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review***

It's rare to have a cookbook that has so many recipes; I was shocked. There was a wide variety of meals that cater to everyone from the keto beginner with recipes feature household staples to the more experienced chef with recipes that require more difficult to find ingredients.

I have read a lot of Ketogenic cookbooks and there are a lot of good points to this one. I like that there are a few "classic" dishes re-done to Keto standards. I also like the layout of the book, especially in the beginning where the authors go over the science behind Keto. That being said, this is not my favorite Keto cookbook. Many of the recipes use heavy dairy, which isn't tolerated well in my family. This book is middle of the road for me, but would probably be well received for those without dairy issues.

I received a copy of The Deliciously Keto Cookbook by Molly Pearl and Kelly Roehl from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Although I am new to the keto diet and am still in the learning phase of meal planning/creation, this book was a huge help! The beginning of the cookbook spells out the "rules" without over explaining or underwhelming the reader, and then provides mouthwatering - and not terribly difficult! - recipes that you'll actually enjoy eating. It's a lot easier to stick to a type of diet when I know the reward of good food is achievable without needing to go to culinary school for it to taste yummy!

I've only tried a few recipes thus far, but am looking forward to attempting more soon!

The kitchen is not my go-to place, but it is where the food is so it is where you will find me most days, eating that is. Cooking and cleaning are necessary evils, but if the results produce great results then I guess I can make an exception (but my takeout game remains strong). I came across keto about nine months ago and it's a P.R.O.C.E.S.S. It is not for everybody and I am by no means a die-hard keto(er??), but when you are trying to avoid the white devil (i.e. sugar) and bad carbs than you may want to give it try. There are differing degrees of keto, but The Deliciously Keto goes right into the phases of ketosis and is more hardcore than casual. The book breaks all that down in the first chapter. Science is not my thing, (unless you're talking scifi, syfy, or beauty stuff - my fandom and vanity know no bounds) so I skimmed that part and went straight for the recipes. I found most of the recipes are heavy on the dairy so if that's not your food bag then you may want to skip this one. I like dairy, but there is only so much cheese one gal can take (butter, on the other hand, I'm all in). The recipes are straightforward and the info is laid out in a traditional cookbook format but is a little light in the visuals IMO. Overall a good base, but if you decide to try keto you may need a bit more inspiration.

This is a great Keto cookbook. Having a diabetic in the family and one that follows the Paleo diet, this cookbook will come in handy.

I'm always looking for new recipes to help me stick with my diet and when I ran across this cookbook I was excited. I've been on a ketogenic diet since late March 2016 and I've lost 110 pounds. I'm still looking to lose about 20 more pounds but the past year has been a bit tough on me so I've been maintaining. The recipes all look delicious and aren't super prep heavy where I'd be spending half the day in my kitchen for one meal. I've had that issue with a few of the other cookbooks I've tried and I'm too busy to do that. The book starts out explaining a bit about the diet and the benefits and things then moves on to the recipes. The types of dishes are grouped nicely into each chapter - breakfasts, snacks, appetizers, salads, soups, then the different types of meats each have their own chapter, and don't forget about the desserts at the end. The pictures are large and done well and I appreciated the nutritional information included with the recipes.

I tried out a few of the recipes and my favorite so far is a super simple Chicken Alfredo with Broccolini (I used broccoli). With my food allergies I haven't found a good store bought low carb alfredo sauce that I wouldn't react to and always thought it was more difficult to make than it really is. The flavor was excellent and it reheats well which is a major plus in my book. I have a feeling several of the dishes from this cookbook will make it into our weekly meal rotation. It's always nice to try out new meals and I've found several which to me makes this book worth it. If you're starting a ketogenic diet or looking for more recipes to try like I was I highly recommend you try this cookbook!

This is so much more than a cookbook! I recently read a book about the keto diet plan. It contained long chapters with information—some of it very repetitive. This book offers all the information you need to get started without being overly wordy; why the keto plan is good for your health; what forms of fat you should use; the proteins that are best; the role of carbohydrates; monitoring ketosis; and maintenance. It tells you what to stock in your kitchen and gives you a sample keto day. It also gives you an idea of potential problems and how to handle them. Then it moves on to recipes.

From what I could see about this diet so far, the risk of boredom is pretty high on the list of why people would not be be able to maintain a keto diet. The recipes in this book would be a big help to sticking with it. Because I like an idea of what is in a cookbook before I buy it, here are some of the recipes : Baked eggs with ham and gruyere; peaches and cream smoothie bowl; buttery vanilla latte; parmeschini fritters with basil mayo; granola parfait; Mexican omelet; mushroom and Swiss frittata; kale chips with bacon; guacamole deviled eggs; pepperoni and black olive pizza bites; bacon wrapped stuffed mushrooms; buffalo wings; jalapeno poppers; keto cobb salad; shrimp and avocado salad; French onion soup; hearty Italian stew; seafood chowder; Texas chili; chicken alfredo with broccolini; chicken tikka masala; chicken enchilada casserole; steak au poivre; bacon brie burger; Thai-style braised beef ribs; beef stroganoff; and Philly cheesesteak.

All that and I didn’t get to the seafood, pork and dessert recipes! If you were a bit concerned that the above recipes often contain more carbs than you would be permitted, that’s not at all true!

I think you can see that this is one fabulously complete resource for the keto diet.

Thank you to NetGalley and DK for an e-ARC of this title, in exchange for my honest opinion. I've just delved into Keto...literally starting this week. This book was perfect timing for me. The recipes look so good, with pictures to accompany them. The book didn't delve too much into information on Keto, which I appreciated. When I get a Keto book, I want information; with a cookbook, I want recipes. I enjoyed this book a great deal, and I'm pretty certain I'll be purchasing a hard copy for my library.

Having adopted a ketogenic way of eating last summer, I am constantly on the hunt for recipes and tools to keep things interesting. I love that this book starts with a keto overview, Q&A and things to generally know about eating a ketogenic diet. It's a nice "starter" for anyone just starting out. I loved the pictures and the general layout of the cookbook and - best of all? I discovered some new recipes to work into rotation!

That said, it wasn't a perfect fit. Some of the recipes are higher in carbs than I would like and some of the recipes seem a little more labor intensive than I am up for. As a busy working mom - I typically am looking for something quick, easy, and practical and some of these recipes definitely fall into the "special occasion" category for me. Overall though, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to check it out and definitely have a few new tools in my keto toolbelt!

Warning, this book is being reviewed by a life-long vegetarian.
Release the judgementalness!!!!

This is the Very First Keto cookbook that I have read. I like cookbooks, right? I usually find a few recipes. Let's see how this cookbook fares.

The book claims the benefits of a Keto diet include:
☞Better Mental Clarity ☞More Restful Sleep
☞Weight Loss ☞Steady Energy supply
☞Lower Risk of Chronic Disease

Keto diets consist of low carbohydrates (5% of diet), medium protein(20% of diet), and high healthy fat (75% of diet), and is def not vegetarian. One positive is that the diet does encourage lowering your sugar intake.

So, the cookbook has recipes for meals, desserts, salads and snacks, etc. Helpfully (for me), the author / editor flagged the meaty sections, so they could be skipped over, if necessary.

I see a lot of bacon, liberal use of coconut products, and butter everywhere (and I do mean everywhere, keep reading). Wow, so many of the salads list bacon as an ingredient!

Here is a snapshot of some of the recipes:
For breakfast, an egg dish with ham, butter, heavy cream, and cheese. To accompany that, why not try the Buttery Vanilla Latte. That is coffee, butter and vanilla. Mixed together for you to drink. Then for a snack, have 8 radishes with 8 teaspoons of butter. Dinner time, relax and partake of the magical combination of duck fat, bacon, kielbasa, pork ribs and sauerkraut.

Wait, WHAT are Zucchini Noodle Carbonara and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna doing in the pork section? No, never mind, I don't want to know.

There is a recipe for a pizza crust made completely out of sausage. The recipe keeps referring to the word 'crust,' but I don't think it means what they think it does.

Page 192, I just found my first vegan recipe, for Romanesco broccoli with rosemary and garlic. It doesn't look bad at all, but perhaps that feeling can be attributed to meat viewing fatigue. Nice, there are a few vegan sides that look good.

I made it to the desserts, none of them have meat in them! Done!

At first glance, I think this book might be way too unctuous for me, After reading it, I am sure of it!

And I am still recovering from "Whipped lard is combined with butter, orange zest and rosemary for a unexpectedly delicious ketogenic dip." Serve with salami!

It seems like a scheme to allow people to eat bacon-brie burgers every day. Reads more like the menu at a sports bar than a 'healthy lifestyle diet book.'

All right, do your Keto thing if you must. Here is a book for you.

I absolutely love that Deliciously Keto has a short intro to the Ketogenic way of eating for newbies and then goes straight into the recipes. This is a no frills book and that is exactly what I want and need sometimes. At this point in my Keto journey, I have bought and/or browsed through countless Keto cookbooks and I am thrilled to say there were some new and innovative recipes to be found here. The breakfast section, my favorite meal of the day, included several fantastic recipes that I can't wait to try. Another section I was super excited about in this book is the sides section, I really struggle there so it is always nice to have new ideas. There were a couple of recipes I was really excited about, especially the chicken tikka masala and the enchilada casserole. This book is a winner. I recommend this book to anyone eating a ketogenic or low carb lifestyle or anyone wanting some delicious new recipes to add to their meal plans!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Wonderful pictures and recipes with a short but informative section on living the keto lifestyle. My only complaint is that there were quite a few recipes that were higher in carbs then I would have liked, given the serving size.
