Cowboy Stole My Heart by Soraya M. Lane is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming story about unrequited love and the trials and tribulations of following one's heart, all set in the world of Texas ranching.

I think I'm starting to develop a serious crush on cowboy romance..I was watching The Horse whisperer on TV the other day and while reading this I kept picturing Robert Redford. I don't know it that was a good thing 😝

For most part I really liked Sam: from his confidence, how sweet he was with Tex, up to how he tried to push his feelings aside and ended up hurt the one person he said he wouldn't.
Mia is my spirit animal. The way how she never asked anybody for help and was honest to a fault, the way she loved Tex. I could relate to her on so many levels.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I'm looking forward to the next Soraya Lane book 👍

Cowboy Stole My Heart by Soraya Lane
A special things to St. Martin’s press and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this title all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sam had it rough growing up his mom took off and the longer she was gone the more hands off his dad became. While he was growing up he realized he had a way with animals. After his little sister out the pressure on he took off on a career teaching and working horses.
When Sam is asked to come to Ford Ranch. They have a stallion that has already killed his rider and put a groom in the hospital.
Mia loves these horses she works hard to prove herself. When Mia first meets Sam she thinks he’s an arrogant ass. But as he begins to work with the stallion and figures out what’s wrong with him they develop a relationship. The agreement is just casual no feelings. But can they keep things that way or is someone going to catch feeling?
This is the first book River Ranch series.

Sam Mendes is a famous horse whisperer. Mia Ford is a strong woman who loves working with her horses. Though they clash at the start, Mia needs Sam to tame a stallion and he agrees to do the same. They both has some crush , some attraction and then it develops into love.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

COWBOY STOLE MY HEART - Soraya M. Lane

SEXY - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - Sam is hired to work with Mia's prized and unpredictable stallion. Sam and Mia's sexual attraction becomes evident right away, although they both fight it. And both spend a lot of time resisting their true feelings, of course, which adds to the sexual tension.

Writing - 4 stars - Lane always catches my attention right from the first page, and this book is no exception. I enjoy her casual and easy-to-read writing style, and the book moves forward quickly and pleasantly. And her characters are always people that I'd like to get to know better.

Characters - 4 stars - Mia is a strong and independent woman, although she's got a big chip on her shoulder about not being taken seriously because she's from a rich family. When we get to know her better, though, we find that she's cute and appealing. Sam is the typical handsome and talented romantic hero, although he also has a negative history with a woman and is trying to fight his attraction to Mia, especially since she's his boss for the moment. He's a nice guy, but he handles every relationship badly because of his extreme desire to protect himself. It's frustrating that he can't see that Mia is different from his ex. Supporting characters of sister Faith and her husband Nate (from the previous series Texas Kings) are kind and supportive, and it was great to revisit with them.

Title - 3 stars - I found this title to be somewhat grammatically uncomfortable and awkward, although it definitely sets the scene for the romance we expect.

Cover - 4 stars - Nice cover, with a full-clothed sexy cowboy in a richly-colored setting.

Overall - 4 stars - An enjoyable cowboy romance. It didn't take me long to realize that this is a spin-off series from The Texas Kings that I enjoyed previously. So it was great to revisit with this group of people, although Mia and Sam's relationship is totally new and in a different setting. I particularly liked these characters despite (or perhaps because of) their flaws. Mia is sweet and tough and seems like a lot of fun. Sam is the perfect cowboy hero--smart, talented, handsome, but not too alpha. The tension between them made sense, and their attempted resistance to each other created a sizzling sexual tension as well. My only complaint was that the ending was just a bit rushed, but it was still satisfying and a very enjoyable read.

This is my first Soraya Lane book. I really liked the characters and their personalities BUT Sam constantly harping about his past and why he can’t move on gets old really fast. We get it, you got hurt, badly. But at some point you need to suck it up and move on and not let it define you. Mia is pretty awesome to wait and put up with him, even though she is his boss. I may pick up the next book just to see where it goes.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

I'm still trying to figure out how I felt about this book. It had all the elements of a story I would really like, but there was just something missing to bump it into that 4 star category. I think maybe because the story seems imbalanced. There is a lot at the front where they don't really like each other, but are very attracted to one another, and then it seems like they're in this arrangement, and then it's over. But there's pretty big stuff that happens along the way that I think Lane kind of glosses over.

I wish she would have gone a little deeper into Sam's past instead of just throwing us crumbs to explain things away and I wish we would have seen more of Mia's siblings since I think they're going to get the next books. Like I said, it had a lot of great elements but something didn't gel for me. I'm going to read the next book (Tanner) and see what happens.

Cowboy Stole My Heart is the first book in the River Ranch series by Soraya M. Lane. The boss/employee trope is one of my favorites and it worked for me in this book. It is a little slow, but not too slow and I was able to enjoy the book. I might not have loved it, but I liked it enough to give it 4 stars. It was a good beginning for a new series and I liked how almost everything was set up. I am not a fan of the manwhore trope. I believe that Sam could have treated Mia better and he is the reason why I didn't go for the 5 stars. Some people are not ok with swearing words and this book has some, so if you don't like them, I would recommend skipping the book.

Cowboy Stole My Heart is the first installment of the River Ranch series by Soraya Lane.

This is my first book by Soraya Lane and I have to say she’s made a great impression! Mia Ford love’s horses even before she was able to ride one. Her family owns a ranch and is considered a dynasty, but she’s never let her last name gain her wins. She used determination, passion and endless practices to be the horsewoman she is now. As she acquires a new horse, however this stallion is stubborn and reckless. So to help her out, her father hired Sam Mendes. He’s the best horse whisperer and her past crush. But these two start off on the wrong foot and it’s more than just the stallion that’s being stubborn.

I absolutely loved this story. Throughout the story, you can feel the love Mia has over her family and the horses in her life. As she trains to befriend the stallion, she comes face to face with her crush, Sam. However, it’s not like she’d imagine. These two certainly have amazing chemistry and a romance that would be blazing, if only they weren’t so headstrong.

I look forward to reading the River Ranch series.

I liked the story and felt that the development of the characters and their relationship was authentic.

I had a few niggles with the story and found the end a bit out of character.

It was an enjoyable read and I would look out for follow up books but don't think they would jump to the head of the to read pile.

This was just an okay read for me...I wasn't passionate about it and I didn't hate it. I was just middle of the road. So what does that mean? It means that for me - It just didn't wow me. I couldn't write a page about what I've read. The hero was a little overbearing and the heroine was a little wishy-washy and that kind of makes up most books today. This is a first in the series and I don't know that I'll read the rest of the series. I mean, you never know but I don't think I will.

This book is too slow for my tastes. I'm pretty disappointed because I love enemies to lovers stories but this one seems to be taking too long to develop and I don't have the patience to wait. That's a personal taste thing and nothing to do with the writing. This one just wasn't for me.

This was my first book from Soraya Lane but it won't be my last. I enjoyed the look into Sam and Mia's relationship. Overall, I thought the author did a great job of bringing me into the ranch life.

I liked Mia. I liked while yes, she may have come from money, it didn't solely define her. She's smart and stubborn and sassy. I appreciated all of that-this is a character I could be friends with.

I really liked Sam as well. I love a good hero who overcomes an internal struggle. Sam didn't have a great life growing up and that plays into how he handles things with Mia. There were times I wanted to shake him but he really did have his reasons for acting the way he did.

The chemistry between these two is believable. I liked them inside the bedroom and out of it. I really did root for them right from the start.

As I mentioned, this was my first Soraya Lane book. It won't be my last. This book was well written and enjoyable. I would recommend it.

I have a soft spot for cowboy romances and loved loved loved this book.

Mia is a champion showjumper, she has been all over europe competing and winning in competitions and comes home to rest between seasons. She has a horse who is wild and dangerous but Mia refuses to bow to her rathers demands to put the horse down andso her father hires a horse trainer to come in and do something before he kills someone.

Enter Sam, horse whisperer and sex on legs. He comes in to help the horse and is given a month to do so, but in the middle of it, Sam and Mia fall hard for each other.

I had a lot of fun reading this book, it swept me away, and i couldnt put it down.

I loved Mia, and I loved the horsewhisperer work that Sam did, but his constant not letting go of the past throughout the whole book was getting old. I know it was an integral part of the story line, but it was getting frustrating by the end of the book

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book i have read from this author, and I was happy to have been able to read it. This book is multifaceted, as it follows main characters Sam and Mia as they work towards helping Mia's horse overcome a traumatic experience. Sam is a miracle worker in the horse training world, and Mia has a horse that is spooked and continuously acts up. While most typical romance books have two main characters, there is a third main character - Tex the horse. While Mia's father wanted to put the horse down, Mia vows to do whatever she needs to do to save this beautiful yet feisty creature.

Throughout the book, we venture through the journey of Sam and Mia's attraction to each other, and while this was an important part of the book, I wanted to know why the horse was so important and whether or not it could be saved. In working together as colleagues and as more, Mia and Sam are able to overcome obstacles in their relationship and well as in the love and care of Tex. In their relationship and in the care of Tex, Sam and Mia have to dig deeper to find the solutions to making things work.

If you love a great story with the added bonus of a beautiful animal, this is a great read.

He was considered the horse whisperer and was asked to work with a stallion whose life had made him a danger to others. One look at Tex and Sam desperately wanted to work with him and tame the fears that drove him to be angry with the world. Mia had admired Sam’s ability from afar and was extremely adamant about working with her best friend’s horse. Each training session brought them closer together as they both worked towards a common goal.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters are super easy to connect. I'm a country lover and throughly enjoyed reading the descriptions of the midwest. In summary, this is a really nice quick read. I can't wait to see the author add in more novels.
