Great reference guide but I feel like the formatting could've been designed slightly better and a bit more information for some of the more 'main/popular' careers would be more beneficial, although I understand with the amount of careers and jobs in this book, that would take up a lot of room!
I was curious about this book and the perspective it has to offer. This is a complete guide about various jobs you can optain, however keep in mind that these job applies to UK residents only. Still it was entertaining to read.
For students wondering what jobs are out there, this is a great into to narrow down their interests and the fields that they could go into. The requirements for each job are UK-specific, but of course the jobs themselves are available in other countries, too. If students already have an idea of what they want to be, this book may not have much more in-depth knowledge than what they already know, but for someone wondering "What do I want to be when I grow up?" it is perfect.
I was curious about the various jobs that would be listed in this book, though they can easily be found on the internet unless the reader specifically needs a book that they can carry around with them.
It's the kind of book that is worth dipping into from time to time though also one that would need to be updated every few years because jobs and careers are constantly evolving.
It is hard to review a book like this which is after all a reference book used in a particular situation. It is a career guide which provides an overall view of what is required and how to get the foot in so many sectors. For each sector or job title there is only the minimum required therefore it is not the right book for someone who has decided what to do and wants some tips but more for people who are still thinking what to do next.
Ideal for schools and libraries and anyone who gives careers advice to young people. I am familiar with the format as I actually bought the Kindle version of the previous version, this is an update.
