I received this book from NetGalley, to read and review. Thanks also to the author.
The book centers on the lives of twin sisters and the different paths each takes. Brooke is a UN fighter pilot, the best of her group. Marie rises to become a well known reporter. Their world is in turmoil, wars, famine and natural disasters tearing it apart. Small colonies established in space are rebellious under Earth rule. Suddenly aliens attack, the countries pull together and unite in defense. What if its all a hox and the twins discover it?
I liked the action scenes of which they're were many. The world and characters were well defined. The problem for me were the long passages describing how and why the technology worked the way it did. They broke up the story while I tried to decide if they made sense or not. On the whole the book evoked no emotional response so I gave it a 2 1/2 stars, just OK.
