1930s and two people meet with an attraction that happens from the beginning. He is working for the British and is a British citizen while she is a Germany citizen. He has a German history and speaks German fluently. This makes him a great spy. They get married and she lives for awhile in London with him but then goes home and is drawn in by the Nazi propaganda because it gives her the chance to make films and do the advertising for the party. This is a sad story more for her than for him but the emotional toll is on both of them. Well worth the read.
