An interesting and informative read on the topic of alcoholism, with some great first-person insights, but not told in a way that really grabbed me or compelled me to read on. I got to about 30% and gave up on this one.
Unfortunately this book lost me half way through... I guess I could not identify or empathise enough with the protagonist in order to finish the book.
Very disturbing book about alcoholism and one I struggled to finish, so gave up half way through as it was making me feel uncomfortable.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
The author wrote about his family's struggles with alcoholism in an informed way. All aspects of this disease were highlighted in a non-exaggerated manner. So many are affected by this disease, so it was a very relatable book.
