Millie has had a tragic childhood and life is constantly knocking her down. Will she be able to overcome and find her place in life? This was beautifully written with well defined characters. It was very thought provoking. Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Millie Reynolds grows up in the Depression era in her home of Mississippi. Her family life is abusive and trouble is her constant companion.
This book has strong characters and is a real page turner leaving you wanting to know more. Great for book discussions with questions in the back.
