Very popular, electric pressure cookers look like a real solution to time-starved cooks. But all too many cookbooks for these devices disappoint.
This one doesn't. It's full of delicious looking and sounding recipes that mirror the reality of how many of us actually cook. There are tons of recipes for chicken, recipes using convenience foods, and recipes that can be done quickly.
The book will be a great help to home cooks.
I haven’t had time to try many of the recipes in this cookbook but there are many helpful hints for someone new to pressure cooking, which describes me. I didn’t know how to adapt for different textures and times of cooking for ingredients. This book tells you how to do that. There are quite a few recipes in here that I plan to try. Also the hints in here will help me to adapt some of my recipes to the pressure cooker. I would recommend this book to someone new to pressure cooking or old pros. There is a wide variety of interesting recipes, with a lot of pictures, which I like, I’m a visual person, I don’t like cookbooks without pictures. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy of this cookbook.
The author is extremely knowledgeable on pressure cooking which is very reassuring. However the recipes are aimed more at the American market so a lot of them just didn't appeal to me. As a beginner I am interested in using one for saving time and effort at mealtimes and being able to cook meat from frozen, so many of the chapters such as breakfasts and sandwich fillers just didn't appeal to me. I was a bit disappointed that jars of pre-made sauces are used in some recipes. It is probably just not what I was looking for however it would be an excellent book for someone looking to use their pressure cooker for all sorts of things, and for those with a little more experience with them. Good Luck with it,
