I found this difficult to get into, no reason and not the fault of the book. I just found I didn't reach for it, sorry.
I am a two-time cancer survivor/thriver and I wish I'd had this book as a guide for my own two journeys in 2002 and 2011-12. I am also a very creative person and even though I'm well past my cancer experiences, I found lots of ideas that I can and will use right now on my journey. I especially loved the guided imagery suggestions, and the link to the page on the author's website where I can listen to all of them for free. This book is a hugely valuable resource for anyone on a cancer journey, whether it's soon after your diagnosis, or you're preparing for surgery or going through treatments, or even after the hospital/doctor visits are long over.
I must express my appreciation to Judy Erel for an inspiring and informative book. I have gone through all the allopathic treatment available - surgery, chemotherapies and radiation. They are beyond difficult to endure and indeed life-altering. I used many of the techniques Ms. Erel discusses and found they often make a tremendous difference. They not only helped me during the duration of treatment; they have continued to add enrichment to my life. The cancer experience has life-long Impact so hy not steer that impact in as positive a direction as possible? I look forward to trying artwork! Again., thank you to the author for this book. It serves a valuable purpose.
Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an arc for my honest review.
