I have read this book but I am really none the wiser as to the purpose of it nor who is the intended target readership for the book.
It is broken into three parts. The first part concentrates on how much one can waste time when working remotely (but the author herself does not come up with any new solutions just refers to some suggested by others she tried and then concluded she reverted to working as and when she could to stop being the type of boss she hated).
The second part reads like a university student’s dissertation with lots of quotations and theories.
The third part (I just about stayed with the book this long) was the most interesting and referred to her reverting to working back as an employee (albeit still remotely) and then talks of her taking a year off to go travelling. I would much rather read a book about her year working and travelling than the book she in fact wrote.
As I say it is hard to see who the target audience is. I chose the book as I spend a large part of my time working remotely. But it seemed as though it was written twenty years ago when this concept was unheard of; as though she was describing a totally novel idea and did not have any insights, tips or even anything amusing to say.
