An easy, informative read with interesting ideas. I do not agree with the authors’ premise that you can change your personality in 30 days. Improve? Yes. But not change.
This book certainly has some valid points yet some of what is written in the book is common sense. Changing one’s personality in 30 days may be easily done for some but for others would be very difficult as we are products of out environments and families. While I learned some interesting information from these authors, I think that based on some of the personality traits that we all possess, there are a few that are especially adaptable In certain situations. This book gives the reader a better understanding of the our abilities to incorporate new changes and sometimes small changes that will allow the reader to change the things about themselves they can change but I still believe that for some it will be much harder when they have repeated actions for most of their lives.
Thank you to netgalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a very informative book regarding personality psychology. Filled with many case studies of Dr. Small's patients, it discusses the big 5 personality traits, and the spectrum on which we can fall on each of them. It provides checklists and ratings scales for you to rate yourself on each of the traits, and practical strategies to change your personality if you wish to. It was written in an engaging way to hold the interest of any and all readers. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.
How to change your personality within 30 days..... It won't take long if you follow the book...... A great book to change your personality.....
First off,let me say the title “Snap” is a red flag for me. Yes, we may be able to change aspects of our personalities but it is not easy, it is NOT a “Snap”. However there are valid points made by the authors so I don’t want to “throw the baby out with the bath water “. After all, our personalities are not cast in concrete- we change throughout our lives as we experience events in our lives. So I will take what I find useful and apply it. That’s really all we can do,isn’t it?
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.
Snap! Change your personality in 30 days is a fast-paced and pleasantly- read book that is easily applied to your life. Written by Dr. Gary Small, Director of the UCLA Longevity Center and and Gigi Vorgan, the book suggests that with the right knowledge we can change our personalities in five distinct categories:
EXTRAVERSION
OPENNESS
CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
AGREEABLENESS
EMOTIONAL STABILITY
I am always really interested in books that challenge long-held beliefs and this is one of these books. The authors challenge the notions that a person's early life experiences shape his/her personality forever and that personality remains the same throughout his/her life. If you are interested in changing specific traits of your personality, they have a specific method which makes for an interesting read.
It is a very insightful book, I loved the examples, real ones with real people. It was also a helpful book.
SNAP! is an informative book about how to change your personality in 30 days. This book proposes that we can change our personalities if we desire to become a better version of ourselves and unlocks a path to gaining a better understanding of who we are now and which aspects of our lives we would like to change.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Nicely written book with good ideas, even though i have to say that i did not manage to change my personality in 30 days with this book. So while the ideas are good the actual promise of a personality change in the promised 30 days isn't really doable in my option.
Still a nice book if you are looking for inspiration to change something about yourself.
Just don't expect it to be a miracle cure and actually make you a different person in a month!
I was always doubtful about books like this. I always thought, that I never found anything that can be useful to me. But this time I was wrong!
It’s the first time that a self-help book motivated me to try meditation. And I’m sure, that after reading it for the second or even third time I will find it even more useful.
“SNAP! Change Your Personality in 30 Days” by New York Times bestselling author Dr. Gary Small presents a surefire method to better your temperament in as little as a month.
Head of the UCLA Longevity Center and expert in neuroscience and human behavior, Dr. Small draws upon the latest scientific research that shatters the myth that we are locked into negative personality traits — and offers tools and techniques to swiftly improve potential health, happiness and success. Highly recommended!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I read this book due to the positive reviews and my interest in self-help books.
I found this book both enjoyable and informative. This book discusses how extroverts have a longer life expectancy than introverts. This book helps guide you to change your personality for the better and improve your health. Your motivation is the most critical component for success. The book includes thought-provoking questions to help you define the person you want to become and attain it.

We can all change our personality, is the bold claim in this book and the title Snap, makes it sound easy.
Is it easy? No, it takes a lot of work and perhaps some professional help, but you can change...
I enjoyed this title, but beware changing your personality isn’t just a snap, it takes a lot of work and determination
This is a wonderful book that shows you how to change yourself im just 30 days. I enjoyed reading the different ideas in this book. About the change your personality in 30 days, well I haven't tried. But there are some really good advices for changing our behaviors.
Definitely recommended if you like reading about personalities.
Good book on different personalities. Good advice on changing one's personality. I did try one and it didn't work for me. The book is well written and there are some very good observations/thoughts provided. Overall, it cannot hurt to read this book if possibly helping your personality is what one desires. Thanks to NetGalley, the authors and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
I thought this was a pretty good book with lots of instruction. I have other books buy this author and will be adding to my bookshelf.
Truth is, it's been a month since I've finished this book. The only reason why I haven't updated it as read here so I'd be pushed to review it. Well, that's another problem, i don't know how to review a Non-Fiction.
Yep, this is kinda the first Self-Help book that I need to review. :) :) I'm just gonna say what I think in the simplest way.
I like this book. LOL. What? I said simple. Hahaha... (this just shows my personality, isnt it?)
See what I did there?
Okay kidding aside, this book, I requested it because it seems interesting. Changing your personality, or at least having results in doing so, in as little as 30 Days. That's intriguing. What I did was read the book little by little, everyday from 1st of January til 3oth. I'm relishing it and in hindsight, I can say now, I did the right thing.
I can't say that this book is life changing, and in the span of only 30 days. That's just impossible. I mean, if it is possible, ahm maybe I'm not an introvert anymore. :) But I CAN say that this book is so informative. The author explains everything there is that the reader should know about personality. And the tips he shared are somehow sensible. And thus I could say that reading it little by little is the best way. :)
Overall, this book is recommendable. Though i haven't read that many self-help books, I know this is a good one. :)
A good summary of things that you probably already know if you have read about personality, self help, etc. But they are presented in a readable way, and who doesnt love the promise of changing yourself in a neat little time frame?

This is a very lengthy book. I recommend the audio version (if available) or the physical copy.
I do appreciate the plethora of information, I learned and have many things to take away from this. That being said, I do not recommend this book. Especially to a hypochondriac, just saying. I felt like this book was telling me there is something wrong with me, I just needed to keep reading and keep reading to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. I won't recommend this to anyone as a full read, possible as a book for reference.
