I Really Loved Rocco's story. It was really great. Intriguing, passionate and mysterious.
Highly Recommend it to all readers.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to read and review this review book by Sarah Castille, Rocco that released on January second, 2018.
I immediately dived into Rocco, the third book in the Ruin and Revenge series upon completion of Luca. I was curious to learn how this story would unfold as the hero of this installment was a cold-blooded killer. The second most feared enforcer for the mob. I met him in the previous instalments and I recognized that beneath his cold-blooded exterior he harboured deep-seated pain and I was desirous of learning what made him tick. What I learned was heart-breaking and painful.
Rocco knew only pain and loss for most of his life until the Grace Mantini, the daughter of an underboss, entered his life. Despite their ten-year age difference, they forged an unbreakable bond. He became her protector, her best friend and her lover. They had plans to spend the rest of their lives together, but when Rocco was forced to kill to protect her their dreams were shattered. That incident changed their lives forever. Rocco became an unfeeling and cold-hearted enforcer who never questioned his orders to kill.
Grace left home after that fateful incident and spent most of her time trying to live her life separate from the mob. However, she would learn that no matter how far she ran, she could never out run her past.
This was a beautiful written second chance romance, and I enjoyed every moment spent in Grace and Rocco’s world. Watching them both find their way back to each other was such a delight. Their moments together were intense and passionate and their chemistry was hot enough to burn a hole through my headphones.
The flashbacks provided by the author allows the reader to understand the horrors they suffered along with how their relationship had developed. Reading about their past and watching them in the present fuelled my need to see them get their happily ever after. However, before they could accomplish that, there were several obstacles they needed to overcome.
The story had its share of danger and drama one would expect with a mafia romance. It was fast paced, engaging and emotional.
My issue with this installment was how it ended. I had hope to get an answer regarding Rocco’s heritage, but that information was never revealed.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Rocco delivered a steamy and passionate second chance romance that will put a smile on your face and leave you feeling contented.
The best in the series...
I don't know what to say, I'm at a loss for words. All that comes to mind is the writing structure and scenes are a bit J.R. Ward-ish. Particularly some scenes reminded me of the BDB series in that she incorporates an entire cast of characters and as a reader can easily follow the timeline and grasp the entire story from the cleverly chained multiple character perspectives. Sub plots were great, expertly woven together and shed to light, almost effortlessly so. Clear and engaging info-bombs, back-drop inclusion.
ROMANCE WAS FIRE!!!!!!
SEX SOOO GOOD! OMG...
HIGHLY RECOMMEND sticking it [the series] out till the end, you won't regret it.
Although I really loved the 2nd book (Luca/Gabrielle), this one didn't work as well for me. My main problem with this and the 1st book are the side characters. In this case, it was Mike... an overly eager yes-man who felt cartoonish with his eagerness. As a comparison, Paolo (book 2) had more depth and I can see him in a future book.
I am very disappointed with a bit of a cliffy for the series for the reveal of Rocco/Frankie's birth parents and what ultimately happens with Tony vs. Nico's control of the family. As of a November 2018 Facebook post, the author said she has no current plans to continue yet. Grrr.
Rocco was adopted by a major mafia leader. He was trained from the beginning to kill and not have any feelings until he was hired to drive Grace around.
Grace had no idea what her father did for a living for the longest time. She had a lot in common with Rocco and fell in love with him at a young age until she finds out he’s with the mob too and she runs away.
Several years later they are reunited at a funeral and the attraction is still there. They both try to fight it. Rocco still a bad ass Mafia man but Grace has changed too and she has one heck of a backbone to stand up for herself.
I have loved each Mafia book in this series and hope the author will continue. I would love a story about Graces brother. The mafia, hot sex, alpha male and a woman that speaks her mind makes this book a must read.
At one time, Grace Mantini and Rocco De Lucchi were everything to each other. In fact, they still are, but they've been apart for years, ripped violently from each other the day Grace discovered who her family really was and who Rocco really was, what he really was.
Rocco is a mafia enforcer. The best in the business. He was taught and trained from a young age to be this way by the man who adopted him and supposedly loved him. Now that his love is back in his life, he won't allow her to leave. Grace spent a blissful childhood thinking her father was someone other than a mafia underboss. When she found out, she ran, and she's been running ever since. But now that she's back within the reaches of the family, the family business, and she's back in Rocco's life, will she run again? Will they allow her to run?
I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but it was easy to pick up what was going on in Rocco. And I found myself absolutely riveted by it. Rocco and Grace are amazing characters, both deeply layered (especially Rocco) with an eternally strong connection. There's no doubt that Rocco and Grace's chemistry is electric, framed by years of missing each other, and loving each other. Now that they're years older, they've changed into much different people. Thank God those people are still deeply in love, even more so. Rocco's a fierce, protective alpha, willing to kill to protect the woman he loves. And Grace is just as strong and fierce as Rocco is. Without a doubt, they belong together - a mafia princess and an enforcer. I will most definitely be reading the other stories in this series now!
Rocco is another super sexy book by author Sarah Castille. I was engrossed in it from the moment I picked it up and I had a super hard time put it down.
Rocco is that dark bad boy you just wanna do bad things with. Sizzling hot. Well written, totally enjoyable dark.
I didn't like this one as much as I enjoyed the past two. I wasn't going to put reviews up but then I realized that I had to for Netgalley.
This is the third in the Ruin and Revenge series and I'm kind of loving it. Not as much as the authors MMA fighting series but almost!! She's interwoven these characters and made them a real-life family and that's what we love to read about. I love to read about continuation characters- characters you see throughout the series. This series does that. Again, job well-done. If you haven't started with Nico- then you really should because these are Alpha men who love what they do, their women and have flaws!
I was given an ARC copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.
Rocco is the third book in the Ruin & Revenge series from Sarah Castille. Although I’ve read the previous two novels in this series, each book in the series is a standalone. Trust me. I had *blushes in shame* forgotten the ins and outs of the two previous novels but had no problems navigating this story.
There is no doubt that Rocco is a hot piece of manhood that I would totally let eat crackers in my bed. But – and it’s a big but – I wouldn’t enter into a relationship with the man. Can you say wishy washy? Grace is mine. I need to let Grace go. Grace is mine. Ugh! Make up your mind already. I liked Grace, although I found her a bit immature for her age and experiences. Her character was believable, even though it drove me nuts how she let other people affect her opinions.
As with any mafia romance, the story is full of hot sex as well as violence and suspense. Most of the twists and turns were predictable – including the BIG reveal at the end. But it was believable that the information was a shock to the characters. They hadn’t spent the previous six hours reading the clues in between the lines, after all.
If you like your romances full of bad boys getting into all kinds of trouble, pick up a copy of Rocco today.
Grace Mancini grew up loving Rocco De Lucchi. And he loved her too. But when Grace discovers that Rocco, like her father, is a member of the Mob, she leaves.
Six years later, Grace and Rocco's paths cross again. And all the love and lust they felt for each other haven't died. But someone's out there targeting Grace's family and Rocco must do what the Mob taught him in order to protect Grace.
Will Rocco and Grace keep fight their feelings? Or will they surrender to them?
I loved Rocco! This second chance romance hooked me from the first page with all its drama, action, mystery, suspense, twists, and steamy scenes. It took me in a rollercoaster of emotions and I couldn't put my Kindle down. I really loved how Grace and Rocco's relationship developed.
I loved that the story of told from both Grace's and Rocco's POVs and the little flashbacks.
Grace Mancini lost a lot because of the Mob. So when she finds out her boyfriend is a member of the Mob, she flees from New York to Las Vegas. She's a very sweet and kind young woman and she can't accept the truth about her family. But throughout the book, Grace changes and grows a lot and becomes a strong woman that will fight for her loved ones.
Rocco De Lucchi is a killer for the Mob. But he's also so much more. He liked Grace from the first moment he met her and soon she became the love of her life. But there's no way out of the Mob. Rocco believes that Grace is his light in the darkness and he will do everything to protect her. He can be a possessive jerk sometimes, but he can also be very swoon worthy.
Sarah Castille did an amazing job with Rocco. Grace and Rocco's story is flawlessly written and it's very easy to connect with the phenomenal characters and awesome story. Packed with drama, mystery, suspense, twists, angst, and hot sexy scenes, Rocco will hook you from the first page!
Well written and an enjoyable story. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
Ok, I have to say this first....Who is Rocco’s Family? You left us hanging....really? Gahhh!!!!
Ok, now that I have that out of my system. I love that Grace wanted to be her own woman. She didn’t let her father make her do anything she didn’t want. She wasn’t ready to face what she needed to be with Rocco. She was too young.
Now that she was older, I love how she stood up for herself with her dad, brother and especially Rocco. I love how we also got Mikey’s POV on his wonderment of how she was getting away with it. I laughed.
Rocco & Grace are pervect for each other. Her sweetness and his saltiness is a perfect pairing.
Sarah Castille doesn’t sugar coat the violent world of the mafia in this enjoyable series. She balances the dark with that hint of sweet that are our MC’s, who in Book 3 are Rocco and Grace.
Unlike the other two books in the series the relationship between Grace and Rocco was relatively low angst. Rocco and Grace met when she was 10 years old after her father hired Rocco as her driver. When she becomes older they end up falling in love and were together for 6 happy years. But in one heartbreaking twist their paths part.
Fast forward… Rocco sees Grace again when her father needs Rocco’s “services”. It’s clear these two haven’t fully gotten over each other.
But they work through their issues relatively quickly and become a solid pair in a sea of crazy mafia action that characterizes the rest of this book.
Rocco was amazing and my heart ached for him. His life as an enforcer molded him into the lethal person he becomes and it’s been harrowing. Even so he struggles with who he is and never forgets about Grace and the dream he once had for them. But this time around he refuses to let anything get in the way of their HEA. Grace serves as his beacon in the dark.
Grace is equally committed to hers and Rocco’s happiness no matter the cost. I thought she showed the most growth throughout the story. Grace is tough and she becomes more confident and mature. I really enjoyed her ability to face her fears and build on that as the story progresses.
Ultimately, I was treated to not only a lovely second chance romance but a solid mafia story that kept me on the edge between violence and deep abiding love. Well done and highly recommended!
I love the gritty, raw, passionate world Sarah Castille has created with the Ruin & Revenge series. Rocco was a gripping story that’s not for the faint of heart. It had me hanging on for dear life!
Rocco and Grace were excellent characters with an intense story. They had a complicated relationship and really enjoyed learning about their history together and how those details were laid out and the time frame in which everything took place. I liked the challenges they faced and how they challenged each other as well. There was this serious push and pull happening because of things from their past and views of the future but it's what made it such an incredible story.
Rocco was so dominant and in control but was facing a serious internal struggle and I could feel that pain he was going through while he figured it all out. Learning about his past was hard, it was harsh and brutal but it was eye opening in seeing why he was the way he was. Grace was awesome. She was a strong woman but as the story plays out, she really owns who she is and becomes force to be reckoned with. I thought she was a fantastic heroine. Together they had so much passion and I loved their chemistry. when it comes to the heat this story was not lacking. There was definitely a good amount of hotness mixed in.
The writing was excellent. It's violent, brutal and intense. In the midst of it all though, it's filled with love and caring and people who are dedicated to one another and their families. I absolutely loved it. It was filled with so many incredible details and it was easy to get lost in it all. There's a lot going on, lots of connections and characters in play, drama and action, it's just an incredibly full, detailed world. Like the previous two books, this has three POVs, it’s an excellent added element and perspective.
I cannot get enough of this world. Yes, it’s intense and violent but it’s also full of so much love and passion and made for an excellent read!
Such. A. Good. Book.
Seriously.
My favorite in this series. So far at least.
I love me a good mob/mafia story. I love me a good bad boy story. You guessed it, this book has both aspects and combined make an outstanding book. WAY worth the read. One click this story – you won’t regret it.
This is a love story between Rocco and Grace. Not your typical love story. They had such good chemistry which made me keep turning the pages and finish this book in one night. I could NOT put it down. I felt bad for Grace being in this life she did not like, but she knew sometimes people could get out of it (Rocco).
This is book 3 in this series and can be read as a standalone. But, you should definitely check out all the stories in this series. None have left me disappointed.
P.S. Isn’t the model on the cover hot???
Rocco, this is the first book I've read in the series. Even though I haven't read the other books in the series, from what I can see it can be read as a standalone. Anyway, the story is good and the characters are ok, easy to relate with. Overall, it's a good read.
I loved this story and it was hard to read about Rocco and his upbringing but the one thing in his life he lived for was Grace. This series is great and worth the read if you love a great mob story and each story is about a different mobster and each story is just as great.
