This is an informative book about the history of the meat in our plates. The book should be in the libraries of any school or public libraries.

I would not categorize this as a general interest book..It is more of a textbook, scholarly in tone and perspective. It discusses the role that the meat industry has played in history since the 19th century to the present date. Because of this, I 'm not quite sure how to rate it as I'm sure that as a textbook it will rate higher than as a general interest book.
