I loved the accompanying book, Anne's Colors, but this book seemed a bit of a stretch for me. It didn't seem to tell the story, but instead was just a simple counting book that had the image of Anne with it. Unlike it's counterpart, this book did not tell me the same story as I was hoping. Beautiful book and fun for simple counting, but not as connected to Anne of Green Gables as I would have liked.
Children will love the embroidery style illustrations, Anne almost leaps off the page! I like that the focus is on nature and that the overall theme is cohesive, rather then just having a random assortment of things for each number. Really cute, a great introduction to Anne and a fun way to learn numbers!
What a brilliant idea for a book this is! I have a young daughter and she was completely engrossed in the book, the pictures are nice, bright and I love the whole concept and the different way the book is presented to allow little ones to learn their numbers. 5 stars from me!
Beautiful book for young children. A playful way to introduce kids to classic literature before they start reading.
