A WEDDING AT TWO LOVE LANE - Kieran Kramer

#2 in the Two Love Lane romance series

SWEET - 4 STARS

Plot - 4 stars - Practical tech expert Greer is more interested in the business of love than the experience of it. Ford Smith, fresh off a breakup with a money-grubbing woman who deceived him all the way to the altar, has no desire to fall in love. But soon Ford realizes that there's more to Greer than meets the eye and they become involved in a wedding dress contest...and more.

Writing - 4 stars - It felt quite comfortable to settle into this series, even having only read the first book so far. This time I felt much more empathy for the characters and found their budding relationship to be interesting and fateful.

Characters - 4.5 stars - This is where the story shone for me. Greer is one of the members of the Two Love Lane matchmaking organization. She has no special paranormal talents, but she's very smart and creates the algorithms for the matches. She hides it well, but she's also emotional and feels strongly about her own lack of relationships. But as the story goes on, she feels independent and proud of her "singleness," revealing it and refusing to make apologies. Ford, on the other hand, is hiding his true identity as a wealthy baron so he can fit in among his new American friends. He is immediately attracted to Greer, and finds himself admiring her purpose and her kindness. They work together well, and I found myself rooting for their success as a couple.

Title - 3.5 stars - We're not sure, but it seems as though there will be a wedding eventually. Actually, the whole book is about weddings since the contest revolves around a wedding dress and is sought after by a number of couples headed to the altar.

Cover - 4 stars - The cover is nice, representing a place setting at a wedding reception table. The bright blue background catches the eye.

Overall - 4 stars - This is a book about independence. Greer has always been working on her "perfect" wedding, despite the fact that she doesn't have a particular groom in mind. But she's in love with the trappings of true love and keeps herself busy with them. She's not afraid to admit that she is alone (so far) and enters the contest as a partnerless candidate. The perfect wedding dress pushes her to join the contest to win it, and her chance meeting with Ford helps her along. Ford is actually the last person that you'd think would become involved in this sort of competition since he recently was left at the altar. Not to mention the complications of his ex's revelation. He's trying to remake himself after his recent debacle, slowly rebuilding his independence. Plus he's attracted to Greer, and their relationship grows gradually, with a little extra push from the contest. The whole plot is a little different, and I enjoyed watching it unfold. The solidity of the characters and their strong personalities added an extra enjoyment to the inevitable relationship.

An auction, a wedding dress, an Englishman named Ford and an American named Greer is the setting for this novel. Greer believes in fairy tale weddings and all that goes with it. With her 3 best friends, she runs Two Love Lane. Pierre owns the dress store and has never had a good match from them. A bridal dress with royal history comes up for auction. Losing the bid to Pierre, she enters his contest set up to publicize his shop. Greer’s former fiancé and new bride to be enter the contest too. Ford, an artist and baron, asked Greer to pose for him and proposes to her so she can have a “groom” for the contest. What ensues is an entwined story of how love concurs all and wins in the end.

An American matchmaker. An English painter. A contest to win a wedding dress. A charming romance.

Another great two love lane novel, with the same lovable and fun characters that run the two love lane dating service...this story is about Greer and a new artist in town from England who happens to be more than just a starving artist......

This book makes me sigh just thinking about it. Greer is a complete dreamer and at her heart a romantic. Ford is a man trying to get past a breakup with someone who was just after his title and money.

Can a simple case of mistaken identity lead to true love? Find out in A Wedding At Two Love Lane!

With a Cinderella flare, the next installment of Two Love Lanes series is a definite hit. A beautiful and successful woman with no thoughts of settling down to a baron in the need of someone who looks past his title, A Wedding at Two Love Lane is adorable, fun, and full of surprises for sure.

It was nice to be back in Charleston, South Carolina, in the second book of the Two Love Lane series, A Wedding at Two Love Lane. It returns us to Two Love Lane, the matchmaking agency owned by best friends, Greer, Macy and Ella and Miss Thing, who helps keep things lively, is their office manager. This is Greer’s story along with Ford’s but it also weaves the others in and out along with Ford’s family in England and Greer’s in Wisconsin.

We learn of Greer’s and Ford’s past which are not always happy. Unfortunately, Greer’s ex-boyfriend is front and center since he moved to Charleston for a year with his fiancee and they run into each other immediately. Due to a contest she and Serena, the fiancee, enter, they are bound to keep seeing each other but also be at the same place at the same time. The contest is all about weddings and winning the stunning Royal Bliss wedding gown that Greer lost out at an auction where her arch-nemesis, Pierre, is the winning bidder. When the contest idea is hatched, Greer jumps right on it, even if she isn’t planning a wedding for herself right now.

It was fun watching Greer and Ford’s interactions and chemistry but also how they got each other. He fit right in considering he had a few secrets of his own. His camaraderie with his college-age roommates was a hoot especially since he was always so generous to them and they thought of him as a starving artist. There are family and friends, happiness, dreams, sadness, sorrow, angst, businesses to run, small town life, the contest, all things wedding, rivalries, tears, happiness, laughter, romance, loving and love. The book has many story lines but all are woven together effortlessly. There are ups and downs along with twists and turns but ultimately several happily-ever-afters in the offing. There is some closure but not enough. An epilogue would have been the icing on the cake. There are enough loose ends to bring us to the next book in the series, Second Chance at Two Love Lane, and I for one can’t wait especially since the book won’t be released until August.

Kramer is a fairly new to me author whose books I’ve enjoyed in the Two Love Lane series. I look forward to reading more of her books both in the contemporary romance and historical fiction genres.

What happens when you throw together Greer Jones a computer Techie and part owner of Two Love Lane matchmaking service; Ford Smith, an aspiring artist who sees his muse in Greer but is hiding his true identity; he is actually Stanford Elliott Wentworth Smythe, the Eighth Baron of Wickshire. Both who have not had much luck in love .
Then add in A magical wedding gown with a name "Royal Bliss",one that Greer wants more than anything even though she is not getting married, she wants the gown so much she ask the complete stranger at the time Ford to help her to win it afte auction, Then , for good measure add in a disgruntled customer Pierre , Greer's former fiancé and his new fiancé ; a fake engagement and put it all In the beautiful setting of Historic Charleston South Carolina .
Well what you get is a hard to put down comical sweet contemporary romance with a side of drama and a story well worth the read and just maybe an HEA for a few people along the way!
I received an Arc copy graciously supplied via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review .

Greer Jones decides her engagement to Wesley isn't a good match so she relocates to Charleston, SC. She and friends open a matchmaking business called "Two Love Lane." Greer, a romantic, compiles several scrapbooks with pictures of the "perfect wedding," though wondering if she will ever meet "Mr. Right."

At a local auction, a wedding gown goes up for bid. Mesmerized, Greer wants this no matter what. Even if she isn't engaged, this is the dress of her dreams. Dubbed "Royal Bliss" this is a one-of-a-kind garment designed to beckon true love to the wearer. Greer gets outbid by Pierre Simons, owner of La Di Da clothing store and Greer's enemy. He cannot forgive her for not finding him a partner, and he ends up with the winning bid.

To Pierre, this dress is a marketing ploy. He has future brides vying to win it, and though with no groom in sight Greer enters the contest. British artist Ford Smith, whom she befriends at the auction, offers to stand in as her fiancé if she will pose for him. With a palpable attraction, Ford shocks Greer with a proposal in front of the contestants.

Greer is chosen as one of the five finalists. Her obstacle is Serena, Wesley's betrothed, whom both unexpectantly have moved to Charleston. Greer, wishing to never to see Wesley again, is surprised by how much she likes Serena.

Greer lusts after Ford, shocked his feelings reciprocate, yet his past causes him to be apprehensive. Many obstacles between them question pursuing a relationship, though with love anything can happen.

Well-fleshed-out characters and a bit of mystery add to the essence of this second release in the Two Love Lane series.

A Wedding at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is a 2018 St. Martin’s Press publication.

If you are looking for a love match, Greer Jones, who operates Two Love Lane, a matchmaking service, is at your service. With only one exception, she has managed to find a match for all her clients. Yet, for Greer, helping others find love leaves little time to find her own Mr. Right. However, she is sure that someday she will meet the man of her dreams, so despite having no boyfriend, or fiancé, and okay, she’s not even dating anyone, she still has her heart set on the wedding dress which is part of a local fundraising contest.

Enter, Ford Smith, an artist looking for his next model, who happens to be hiding out from a really awkward situation back in Britain, which is where he is from. Ford agrees to accompany Greer to the cocktail party and fundraiser and knows immediately she’s the person he wants to paint. He then finds himself entangled in her quest to win the wedding dress, when it appears her lack of a fiancé could hurt her chances of winning the contest.

As Greer and Ford begin to spend more time together they find their light, flirty relationship becoming more serious, but both are in denial. The timing couldn’t be worse for either of them.

But, love has its own timetable and for Greer it’s now or never- but does Ford feel the same way?

This is a really cute and sweet contemporary romance full of quirky characters and oddly humorous and awkward situations that added to the story’s charm. I wouldn’t have thought a droll British aristocrat would be a good match for the vivacious Greer, but somehow the British manners complimented the southern charms of Charleston. South Carolina.

This story has a lot going on, and touches on various themes, one of which is to avoid settling for comfort and companionship when you can have everlasting true love instead. I also enjoyed the artistic threads with added a extra dollop of depth to Ford’s understated stoicism.

Overall, I had a lot of fun with this story. It is very light, very easy to read, but I found myself completely enchanted with it!

This is the second book in the Two Love Lane series and in it we follow Greer and Ford’s road to happily ever after.

I am such a sucker for second chance at love romance and this book just hit the nail perfectly for that genre. Both characters had experienced failures when it came to romance and they both had aversion to it, but faith had other plans for them.

I just loved the misconception, misunderstanding and wonderful chemistry between these two.

Fun and thoroughly enjoying read from start to finish! Loved it! Highly recommending it to all Rom-Com lovers.
