I wasn't sure I would like book#2 as it seemed slow to start. Boy am I glad I was wrong. Loved this and couldn't stop reading it.. Once it really got started there was no lull just a lot of fun and surprises. Wahoo!
This is a sweet romance about a pretend engagement that turns into something real.
Greer owns Two Love Lane dating agency and she meets Ford at an auction and Greer bids on a wedding dress. She gets Ford to pretend to act as her fiancée and thinks he is an up and coming artist but of course he isn't.
It is lovely to see love blossom from nothing.
I love these kind of stories, they are such easy reading.
A Wedding At Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is the second book in the Two Love Lane series, however, it is the first book I read and did not feel lost.
In this book, Greer Jones is the practical one. Though she works for a match making firm, she is the one who works on the technical side. She is professional and smart. But what no one knows is she secretly plans her wedding on Pinterest. A woman can dream, right? When she sees a beautiful wedding gown with a history that calls to her at an auction, she decides she must have it. And so her crazy adventure begins.
Ford Smith is trying to move forward from the woman that broke his heart and left him bitter when it comes to love. He is in the United States to work on his art and move forward. The last thing he needs or want is love in his life. But when he meets Greer, something about her draws him in. And it is more than her beauty, but her good heart as well. But Ford has secrets he guards. Can he find a way to let Greer in?
I love how Ford and Greer meet. She is feeling down after hearing her ex-boyfriend is set to marry another woman, even if she was the one who left him. She sees a dress she must have, even if she is not engaged. So, Ford sets out to help her, as he wants to paint her for this next project. But the more time they spend together, the more they are drawn to each other. But with his time coming to an end, can they learn to let love in?
A Wedding At Two Love Lane was a cute and charming story. Though at times it felt there was so much more going on, I loved Greer and Ford and seeing them open up to each other. Their attraction was real and raw, even as they fight what is happening between them. I look forward to reading more from this author.
3.5 stars. Happy reading.
Greer Jones is a practical lady who has a bustling career in the match making business with her best friends. What people don't know about Greer is that she is also a closet romantic, working in her wedding scrapbook, dreaming of the perfect wedding. A beautiful story starts to unfold as Greer is bidding on a wedding dress, a special dress at an auction when she happens to meet a stranger. A dashing stranger whom she runs into again, but this time it is with Greer's ex boyfriend who is getting married, the boyfriend Greer broke up with. Ford, her dashing stranger gets tangled into Greer's attempt to win the same dress she was bidding on that is now owned by someone else, who is having a contest. Their story twists and turns and twists again as the contest is soon over. Will Greer win? Will Ford become more than her "pretend" fiance? Is Ford really a starving artist? I can't tell you the end, but what I can tell you is that this is a beautiful story. One that you can wrap around yourself and get lost in.
Kieran Kramer has another hit on her hands. This is the second book in her series and once again we get to visit our friends from the first book as they rally around Greer cheering for a happy ending. I was gifted this book by St.Martin's Press for my unbiased opinion and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read it. I can't wait for the next book!
I loved Greer she is so sure of what she wants in life. Its funny how when Ford shows up her life is suddenly upside down.
Greer scrapbook her wedding for as long as she could remember. She has the best job at Two love Lane setting up matches. Now her past and her future are right before her eyes and she needs to make the choice that is best for her. With her friends behind her she will win in the end.
** I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review**
No one does charming but quirky characters better than Kieran Kramer. Here in the South, it is almost a requirement to be “unique” which Greer Jones, found-her-place-in-the-South-gal, has in abundant. A Wedding At Two Love Lane is her story along with British artist, Ford.
Instead of a wedding chest, Geer has the updated version of the perfect wedding scrapbook. I could see someone really having this, maybe someone not as old as Greer, but still. Fun galore along with shenanigans that are a hoot as Greer tries to win her “perfect” wedding dress from bad sport, Pierre Simons. Witty dialogue, wonderful supporting characters with a solid plot of a “faked engagement” make this a truly marvelous read. Spring in Charlton right here in the middle of winter; like a cup of hot chocolate it hits the spot.
I adore this entire series! Greer is the technical person for the matchmaking service she helps run with her friends. The book starts with a wedding gown up for auction that has a magical affect on Greer. She knows she just has to have the gown, even if she doesn't have a wedding in her immediate or even near future. When the gown is the focus of a contest, she asks for the help of a handsome Englishman that she has just met. Ford desperately wants to paint Greer, so he agrees to pair with her for the contest in exchange for her posing nude for him (the nude part was Greer's choice).
I love the characters and the humor Kramer has brought to this series. The book is full of fun, yet you come to care for Greer and the other women in the contest for the beautiful gown. Ford is a very interesting character in that he is actually a Baron, yet is living in a run down bachelor pad with two other guys that are your typical college type guys--clothes everywhere and beer bottle strewn around type. Ford never tries to present himself more than his roommates, nor does he tell Greer who he truly is in order to win her over.
Will Greer win the dress? Will Ford win Greer? The read to find the answers is well worth it!
Most little girls (okay, older women, too) dream of their Perfect Wedding. As we are now in the digital age, there are Pinterest boards devoted to each woman’s ideal of what their Perfect Wedding should look like; many (most?) of them planning even before they have a groom. Such is the case with Greer Jones; she is up to 19 Perfect Wedding books. She is so moved by a wedding dress named Royal Bliss at auction that she decides she must have it. Such begins Kieran Kramer’s latest Two Love Lane book, A Wedding at Two Love Lane.
Royal Bliss lives up to the promise to bring the wearer (or bidder) their own lifetime HEA as Greer literally falls into the lap of Ford Smith, aka Stanford Elliott Wentworth Smythe, the English Baron of Wickshire. Both Greer and Ford are wary and slow to trust. As they compete together to win the gown, Greer realizes that the Perfect Wedding doesn’t matter; it is the who, not the what, that is important.
I really love Kramer’s writing style, it is sweetly southern. There is a solid cast of supporting characters who add richness and depth to the storyline. This novel feels very much to me like an old Hepburn and Tracy screwball comedy. The action and the dialogue are fast and witty. Once you start reading you won’t want to stop.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
The well defined characters and the good storyline kept my interest throughout the whole book! Really good story
Kieran Kramer has topped the almost unbeatable “Christmas at Two Love Lane” with Greer’s story. Almost anything I tell about the story will be a spoiler, but “Wedding” had me laughing out loud by the end. Kramer’s inventive plot twists are always entertaining, and paired with a charming couple, actually several charming couples, “A Wedding at Two Love Lane” is a winner.
The well defined characters and the good storyline kept my interest throughout the whole book!

A Wedding At Two Love Lane is the second book in the Two Love Lane series by Kieran Kramer. The story follows Greer a matchmaker who enters a contest to win the wedding gown of her dreams and Ford, a duke/artist who is her willing sidekick and poses as her fake fiance in order to help her win.
I didn't like the way Greer and Ford met and to be honest, I was expecting more from Ford and I was disappointed when he didn't help Greer. I understand now that he had issues, but I wanted the hero of the novel to act, well, like a hero. I couldn't warm up to him and I was slowly losing interest in Greer as I was reading further on the book.
The author should have dedicated more time on Jill and her second chance romance rather than exclusively on Greer and Ford. I felt cheated when it came to Jill. She seemed to have a very interesting story and it was a sub-sub-plot, just enough to fill two whole pages. I wanted to see more of them and forget about the perfect dress and Greer.
The couple of the next book is uncertain, but I think I have an idea about who that person might be. The man who took the dress Greer wanted at the auction was a lot on the spotlight by the end of the book and he went through some drastic changes. I am still not sure about his age and the reason he was acting like he was. If the next book is his, I hope we will find out a little bit more of the reasons why he is the man I saw in this book.
An enjoyable story that kept my interest from the start, would Greer find out that Ford isn't who he says he is and will Ford realise that not all ladies are money grabbing, this is what I wanted to find out and which kept me turning the pages
I received a copy from Netgalley and voluntarily leave my own opinion
I picked this up as part of my quest to find more contemporary romance tropes and authors that I like. I hadn't realised that I had DNF'd one of Kramer's historicals at the time but they're different genres and doing different things so I'm glad I gave this a chance.
I was thinking about what to say about this and the best I can do is that this wasn't terrible. I didn't love any of the characters and I sort of sympathised at times with the people Greer was competing against. I also didn't ever really feel like I got to know why Greer and Ford had fallen in love with each other - probably because so much focus was on the wedding dress competition. There were also a few too many things going on in this - too many tropes - which may be to disguise that lack of character development and connection. There were also some proof reading issues - character names transposed, prepositions missing - which lifted you out of the story as well. So overall ok - but I won't be going out of my way to look for more of these.
Ford is done with women who are beautiful but that’s all there is to them after his almost marriage falls apart. When he meets Greer, a professional matchmaker, he is not impressed, but he does like that she doesn’t realize who he really is. While they get to know each other, Ford revises his opinion of Greer, but realizes at some point he’s going to have to tell her the truth about himself. How will that go over? You’ll have to read to find out!
The second book in Kieran Kramer's Two Love Lane series, A Wedding at Two Love Lane is equally well crafted as its predecessor, Christmas at Two Love Lane. With the glorious backdrop of Charleston, this second offering features Two Love Lane partner and matchmaker Greer Jones. She is a Wisconsin farm girl responsible for the tech edge and algorithms the company uses. While quite successful in finding others their soul mates, she has been on her own since turning down her high school sweetheart's proposal four years ago. But something shifts in Greer the day she learns of that boyfriend's engagement and she begins a more open and engaging path.
While attend a charity auction, Greer is besotted with am exquisite wedding dress called Royal Bliss. While the dress is beautiful, it is the royal beading and legend that calls out to her. Although she loses out to Pierre Simons, Charleston boutique owner and somewhat nemesis of Two Love Lane, she does meet apparently struggling British artist, Ford Smith, and the attraction is great. There is an instant connection that serves Greer well.
As Greer stumbles upon the contest Pierre is running for the dress, and Ford comes to her aid on many occasions to help her win, the story tumbles and turns into a delightful, humorous romp. As one whose love story began "at first sight", I so enjoyed this story and do recommend it! I also look forward to the next book in the series
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from NetGalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. This book is the second in the Two Love Lane Series. When I was approved to read the ARC, I was unaware it was part of a series. I gladly purchased the first book in the series from Amazon and devoured it. The books are stand alone, however, I wanted to start at the beginning. I flew this book. Greer and Ford Smith were very likeable characters. Greer is a strong female who knows what she wants and follows her heart, including stopping a wedding to her former fiancée' who shows up in Charleston with his current fiancée. Greer gets into this bridal dress competition due to a fierce rival of her outbids her at an earlier auction for the same dress. She is the only single woman in a race with other couples including her ex-fiancée' and his current. Ford helps her out in proposing to her at the beginning of the competition, so she is not left in the dust by the other contestants. She also is unaware that Ford is really Stanford Elliott Wentworth Smythe, the Eighth Baron of Wickshire. She also has her own issues with marriage due to her upbringing. When the truths are discovered about her fake fiancée, all hell breaks loose!!!! You must read this to see how it ends which is one for the record books! Happy reading! I cannot wait until the next installment comes out!!
I have been a fan of Kieran Kramer since her regency romance books and even though I missed the first book of this series, I must say that Kramer is one of those exceptional writers who can do both regency and contemporary romance with the same finesse, heat and sensuality. And what better way to bring the two worlds together than to have a hero who is a baron and also an artist and a heroine who is a matchmaker who has been planning her perfect wedding since she was a little girl and who has now set her eyes on a wedding gown that has pieces of a wedding gown once worn by a famous Hollywood actress who married a prince. A gown that supposedly brings the wearer great luck in love and life long happiness!
Greer Jones takes care of the technical side of the matchmaking agency Two Love Lane, which she co-owns with her friends. She has albums full of ideas for her dream wedding. All she needs is a groom. Her family still blames her for breaking up with her fiancée Wesley. But Greer knows that it would have never worked out with him. All she wants is to find an all consuming love and spend the rest of her life with him. It seems that she may be one step closer to her dream wedding when she finds her dream gown. All she needs to do now is win a competition. So when a dashing British artist offers to be her fake fiancée to enter it she gladly accepts. All she has to do in return is pose for him.
Stanford Elliot Wentworth Smythe is the eighth Baron of Wickshire. After his fiancée cheats on him with one of his groomsmen he leaves England and travels to Charleston to find inspiration for his next painting. When he sees Greer for the first time he knows that he has found it! All he has to do now is convince her to pose for him. So he decides to help her out and proposes to her. What starts of as a fake engagement soon turns into a scorching romance.
A fun romance that has everything that you would wish and more! Can't wait to read more from this great series!
Publisher's Description:
Never say never when it comes to love.
Greer Jones has made a real name for herself at the elegant matchmaking agency Two Love Lane. For a lot of reasons—including a past engagement she broke off—practical tech expert Greer is more interested in the business of love than the experience of it, but she can’t help but covet a gorgeous wedding gown that’s the prize in an upcoming cocktail-party contest. In a moment of brazen inspiration, Greer asks a handsome Brit she’s only just met to accompany her to the party. He agrees—and Greer believes her date is a starving artist. Little does she know the truth. . .
Ford Smith, as he calls himself, is actually Stanford Elliott Wentworth Smythe, the Eighth Baron of Wickshire. Fresh off a breakup with a money-grubbing siren who deceived him all the way to the altar, Ford has no desire to fall in love—especially with Greer who, like the desired wedding gown, is beautiful but only skin-deep.
But soon Ford realizes that there’s more to Greer than meets the eye. Her professionalism is matched only by her passion for life and love. . .and, best of all, she has no idea that he’s to the manor born.
Could it be that true love is priceless after all?
My Thoughts:
This is the second book I have read by this author in this series and this genre.
Even though I read mostly historical romance books, after I read Christmas At Two Love Lane and was offered this one to read as well I couldn't resist.
I really loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I loved the well constructed storyline and the characters, some of which we met in the first book.
Greer is a romantic at heart and has made books and plans for her dream wedding for years. She is a partner at Two Love Lane, a Charleston, SC based agency known for their matchmaking capabilities.
Ford is a member of the English aristocracy and a talented artist. He is fresh off a break up with a fortune hunter who he was certain he was in love with. After being deceived by his ex he has no desire to fall in love again.
He is entranced by Greer at first sight and follows her to an auction where she spies a wedding gown she just has to have.
She tries to enlist Ford as a partner so she won't be out bid.
When the dress ends up as the prize in a contest set up by the auction winner, Greer enters and still enlists Ford's assistance.
Ford asks only one thing, that Greer poses for a portrait.
How will this tale end?
I couldn't put down this book. This is a sexy and delightful romance with unexpected twists and turns.
I gave this story 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 4 of 5 flames
There is not an abundance of physical intimacy in this tale, but just enough to wet the reader's appetite.
I received an invitation from the publisher to read this book. I received a complimentary digital ARC from them via NetGalley to read and review.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
