What happens when a bitter feud, a magical wedding dress, an auction and a determined matchmaker collide with an English Baron who is soured on love? You get A WEDDING AT TWO LOVE LANE and a fun read that puts both the magic of love and some romantic comedy together to create the nearly perfect light-hearted reading escape!
Greer is force to be reckoned with when she wants something and she wants that wedding dress, even if she doesn’t’ have an intended groom. Too bad the vile little dress shop owner wants it, too and he outbids her at an auction. The dress becomes Greer’s obsession when a promotion offers the dress as the grand prize. All Greer needs is to enter, right? Not so fast, there. She may just need a partner in crime so to speak and that’s when she enlists Ford, the man she thinks is a starving artist. The man who also just happens to have painted her ex-fiance’s current fiance’s portrait. Small world, huh? And it keeps getting smaller as her ex moves into town with his new future bride.
Did I mention that Ford wants to pain Greer’s portrait, too? Or that these two have a growing chemistry that only a big fiasco or a lack of communication can quash?
Fun characters, a few awkward moments that probably didn’t have to be, a few awkward moments that were needed and a crazy contest for a magical wedding gown that makes the perfect foil to love! Kieran Kramer’s A WEDDING AT TWO LOVE LANE is a fluffy romance that will leave you smiling! Low angst, high entertainment, finding love and the perfect gown-priceless.

This is the first book I have read in this series. The story is easy to follow and all characters and situations receive well developed explanations. So, the reader is never lost.
Greer is a partner in a matchmaking business in Charleston SC. The business is not just about finding someone for a client. The business also helps the client manage the relationship up until the wedding.
Greer has found a wedding dress that she covets. She covets it in a big way. She does not have a fiance nor does she have specific plans for a wedding. But, she has been building scrapbooks about the perfect wedding since she was a child. It is one of her secret passions.
Greer enters a contest to win the dress. But, since the contest involves women who are engaged and have a wedding in the future, she gets a helper. She publicly gathers a fake fiance, and everyone knows it.
Her helper is Ford. Ford is an Englishman, a painter and a secretly wealthy member of British nobility. He has chosen Greer to be the subject of his next painting and he has high hopes of this painting being the one which makes his career. He is willing to put himself in an unusual position in order to help Greer and entice her to pose for him.
This is a well written book. Ms Kramer is obviously a very talented author.
I liked Greer and Ford. Both of them are attractive, charming and intelligent people. Unfortunately for me, their actions do not always show the intelligence I would have liked to see. Each of them act in ways which seemed out of character for two people who are so capable and together in their lives.
The plot is pretty straight forward. Greer and Ford learn about one another and fall in lust. Greer feels love for Ford, Ford feels extreme fear of commitment.
There were parts of the plot which made no sense to me. The love nest bedroom was one of the no sense things. Why would a woman feel lust with Baywatch posters on her ceiling? The addition of an internet billionaire seemed to be out of place.
Most of all, I could not believe the book ended so abruptly. It is like getting to the soda fountain and finding there is no ice cream.
I believe the book would have benefited from having a short final chapter about the lovely wedding, the guests and the couple who were so deeply in love.
But that is just me. I like a Happily Ever After not a Happily Ever.
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions expressed are my own.
A Wedding at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer.
A contemporary romance of instant attraction and following an impulse. Fake romance that turns real. 2nd in the matchmaker series and can stand alone.
A flirty romance. I liked Greer, the heroine for going after what she wants. Even better, the hero is adorable in supporting Greer on the wedding dress contest. His impulsive proposal to help her for the contest was sweet.
A lot of secondary details from the matchmaking agency other owners and clients. The author used a telephone call to describe an event which was unique the first time but seemed contrived the second time.
I read an early copy that needed polishing including an abrupt ending.
Overall, I enjoyed the connection of the two lovers.
“He had a natural presence that made women and men look twice. And she really like him. Him. His personality. His honesty. His humor. The way his eyes lit up when he smiled.”
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley.
I love Kieran Kramer Historical Romances and I hope she writes more of those too. This book is about Greer Jones who runs a matchmaking agency. She is more focused on business and not falling in love. But she wants this wedding gown that is the prize at a party. So she asks a handsome Brit she’s only just met to go to the party with her and he agrees. Ford Smith, who just had a breakup with a money hungry women. But he sees more to Greer.
This was cute! I fell in love with the characters immediately and felt all of their emotions. The story line was a bit far-fetched, within the timeline, but that's part of what made it a romantic dramedy! I would like to see a follow up here...whose babies are they? How does the story end for the main couples involved? What happens next!?
A Wedding At Two Love Lane
by Kieran Kramer
Definitely a buy book.
A nice light hearted romance that I found to be entertaining. While perhaps the plot was not all in all believable, I still enjoyed it! The author has such a unique way of writing that it made the entire thing enjoyable and entertaining. I sincerely liked her characters and ditzy way of having the matchmaker step out to get a wedding gown she did not need. It reminds me of all the times we buy things we do not need but think of what we absolutely feel we must have. I found the author to be a very good story teller and look forward to more from them. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom
DNF..Will not leave a review any where. Don't remember the first book having such graphic sex.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley to read in exchange for a fair review. I’ve read all of Kieran Kramer’s historical romances and enjoyed them very much so was delighted to have the opportunity to read one of her modern romances. This book is the second book in her Charleston Matchmaker series and I think can be read as a stand alone as I have not read the first book and still enjoyed this one. The main story is about Greer Jones a partner in a matchmaking business who is all about the technical and mathematical part of the business and not so much the love part and Ford Smith aka Stanford Elliott Wentworth Smythe, the Eighth Baron of Wickshire an artist who has come to Charlotte to recover his muse after being stood up at the alter when his bride had an affair with one of his groomsmen. There many interesting supporting characters, including a nasty pair of villains, a magical wedding dress, an ex boyfriend and his new fiancé who end up in a cut throat competition with the heroine to win said dress. I would love to say that the book has a satisfying HEA but the copy I read ended abruptly and I felt it needed at least one more chapter... I kind of felt stood up at the alter myself. I didn’t get the Elvis painting over the headboard and the Baywatch babes poster on the ceiling over the bed in the heroine’s boudoir. Pretty sure looking at those would either give me the giggles or break the mood at a crucial time. As well the subplot about the billionaire seemed lacking somehow... I think the storyline would be stronger without it, but then I am so over billionaire romances. This is a nice lighthearted romance with some quite steamy moments and I did enjoy reading it. Publishing Date January 2, 2018.
Greer bids on a fantastic wedding dress, even thought she is not engaged, let alone dating someone. She even offers to split the cost of the dress with the unknown gentleman sitting next to her at the auction. He doesn't chip in and she loses the dress. However.....the owner of the dress decides to have a contest in which the dress will be the grand prize. Little does Greer have any idea how her life is going to change, but it sure is a fun ride for the reader.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
This is Greer’s story. She is one of the partners of Two Love Lane. She gets Ford, a British man she’d just met, to agree to go with her to a party where a wedding gown she fell in love with was going to be given away. I like that Greer has gumption and faces challenges with poise and takes risks. Ford supports Greer and I liked how he jumped in and got involved.
What a lovely book. It’s about a girl who owns a match making business. She has dreamed about her wedding day all her life with all her perfect wedding books. She even finds the perfect gown. Just to find out that none of that matters if you have the perfect man.
Greer owns and runs a match making organization. She falls in love with a wedding dress at a charity auction her company sponsors, so, though she has no man in mind, bids for a wedding dress, only to be out bit by her nemesis, a former disgruntled client, just so Greer cannot have it. This spoiler/nemesis then puts the dress in his store as the prize in a contest he is running. During the bidding at the charity auction, Greer meets Ford, a starving artist, who she tries to convince to partner with her to get the wedding dress she wants, but he defers. Then, Ford becomes her partner in this new contest. The contest is narrowed down to five finalists, one of whom is Greer and another of whom is the fiancée of Greer’s one-time love. Greer’s parting from this ex was not a happy one, and her mother and the small town where she lived keep reminding her of her age and the fact that she remains unmarried, with no prospects. How will this turn out for Ford and Greer? The book covers their pairing during the contest and its ramifications.
I liked this story, but I enjoyed the other book I have read in the series more. I guess I just did not take to the new character and the new story situation. However, this is still a great romance to read, for those who love romances. Once again, the author has created characters and an interesting situation for Greer and her matchmaking company. I am sure I will look for the next book in the series, as I expect it to be another interesting and enjoyable read. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
This was a rather sweet novel about a matchmaker finding her match as she inexplicably pursues buying a wedding dress even though she has no boyfriend or prospective match. She’s helped in her endeavors by artist Ford Smith, a hunky Englishman, as she has to appear in a reality-type show hosted by the nasty owner of the dress in Charleston, S.C. Greer and Ford make a fun couple and they fall for each other in the rapid way that romance novel characters do.
I just had some problems with the whole set-up. We are told early on that Ford isn’t some starving artist as Greer seems to think. Instead he’s the Eighth Baron of Wickshire. Well, that’s fine, but then later on we find out that he has an older brother and his father is still alive. Come on. As a younger son, he wouldn’t be a baron, especially if the father were still alive. That just irritated me. Anyone who’s read a few romances involving English aristocracy would have glommed onto the concept of primogeniture.
And the business that Greer and her two best friends manage to personally matchmake couples and help walk them through their subsequent relationships just doesn’t seem realistic. Perhaps there are businesses like this in the world of match.com and other websites, but I’m not aware of them. I found it hard to imagine that these three women would be successful enough at this that they had office space in downtown Charleston.
And then we learn that Greer, a MIT grad, so loves planning her perfect wedding that she has eleven, count them - eleven, scrapbook albums of notes and pictures for planning her perfect wedding. Not to mention whatever she’s put up on Pinterest. That’s just a bit too obsessive for me. I didn’t buy her whole desperation to get the wedding dress or that she was so gobsmackingly striking that Ford would have followed her into the auction just from seeing her on the street and deciding that she is the subject that could help him get over his painter’s block.
I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Cute story with fun and quirky characters. Really enjoyed it.
Thank you publisher and netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
Greer owns a match making business with her friends. She moved to South Carolina after turning her boyfriend down when he proposed. Greer has been making wedding scrapbooks for years. She goes to an auction and sees the dress she wants. He and a fellow store owner starts a bidding war. Of course she looses but she meets a handsome English man. Ford is an artist, in town trying to find the perfect subject for his painting. One look at Greer and he knows she is it.
After losing the dress, the man who won decides to have a contest and the winner gets the dress. Greer doesn’t have a boyfriend or fiancé so goes for it as a single woman. Ford proposes at the first so she’ll have someone with her. The contest is made up of different categories and the one with the most votes wins. In between her working her job, being in the contest, she always agrees to pose for Ford.
At first it’s strictly no sex. But the more the are around each other, the less likely clothes are going to stay on. When Greer reveals her feelings, Ford gets scared and then is called back to England. But he realizes how much he misses her and loves her. Can he get her back or is he out of luck?
Funny. Steamy. Secrets. Ex boyfriends and girlfriends. It left you hanging just a little. Great characters and story.

Who's ready for the wedding of the season? A Wedding at Two Love Lane takes a wedding-loving matchmaker and a visiting painter from across the pond and throws them into a lighthearted contest that breathes new life into the idea of marriage in a romance novel.
Macy from Two Love Lane had her happy ending in Christmas at Two Love Lane and now it's her friend, Greer's, turn. Greer is smart, knows what she wants, and is ready to go for it. Even if that means bidding on a pricey wedding dress without having a boyfriend or upcoming wedding to speak of. I thought her obsession with weddings was great. The Pinterest board, the scrapbooks, the ability to say "hey, I don't need a future husband to want to be a bride" which became central to the story. She's a strong character and her little quirks make her relatable too.
Her partner in crime for what becomes an interesting fake engagement (oh yes, this is one of those books, y'all) is Ford, a British painter visiting to find his muse and she just so happens to appear a couple seats down at an auction for a wedding gown. Well, there's a bit more to it but that's all you need to know. I appreciated that he (and Greer as well) considered the other things going on in their life before entering into any sort of relationship. They start off as friends and it gives them a solid foundation for the romance later on that I appreciated.
Oh goodness, and then there's the contest. I don't know what it is about stuff like that in romances but I love it. In this case, Greer competes for her dream wedding dress against four other hopeful brides, except she doesn't have a significant other and all the challenges require one. . . can you see where this is going? It made for a lot of fun reading and stood out in terms of the contemporary romances I've read recently.
My main problem with this book (I mean it wasn't perfect, y'all) was the ending. It just. . . well, it just ended. Abruptly. I was expecting an epilogue or something afterward and there was nothing. And sure, it does wrap up, sort of (avoiding spoilers and all that here) but it wasn't a satisfying end and I wanted more closure than I got. For a book about weddings and with "wedding" in the title. . . I expected the ending to feature a wedding? At least more than what you get which isn't much. Talk about a bummer.
I wasn't sure if I'd like this book or not because connected romances with different protagonists don't always sit well with me even though I read them fairly often. It's more the contemporary ones. I get attached to the characters. But A Wedding at Two Love Lane was light, quick, and fun with a great friendship/fake relationship turned romance that I couldn't get enough of! Looking forward to book #3!
A Wedding At Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is a fabulous read. Ms. Kramer has delivered a well-written book. The characters are fun and lovable. Greer is a matchmaker and fell in love with a wedding dress at an auction. She is outbid by her nemesis, only to keep her from having it. He then puts the dress in his store as a prize in a contest. Ford is a painter and he wants to paint Greer. He offers to partner her in the contest. Their story is packed with drama, humor and sizzle. Did I mention the characters are outstanding? Yes, they're my favorite part of the book. A Wedding At Two Love Lane is the second Two Love Lane book I've read but I think I like this one best. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
This was my first book by Kieran Kramer and it certainly won't be my last! Greer works at matchmaking agency Two Love Lane and in her free time plans the perfect wedding - she's a "future bride" who's not actively looking for love but is open to it. Ford, however, is very much not open to love - he's left England to focus on his painting and escape the memories of a conniving, cheating fiancée he left behind.
There's plenty of fun antics and drama in this book, and the whole premise of the book is sweet and quirky, much like the characters. A competition to win the perfect wedding dress, a pantomime-dastardly villain, and a couple of exes to stir it all up - the book has a lot going on, which it uses to develop the characters and their relationship.
Greer and Ford have some sizzling chemistry and their relationship is believable - there's instalust, sure, but there's also a foundation of friendship and trust that is cleverly built up. A Wedding At Two Love Lane was a quick, entertaining and, at times, moving story, and I look forward to reading some more Kieran Kramer in the future!
This romance was an entertaining story. Greer works for a matchmaker agency in Charleston, SC. She is the computer wiz and is logical, practical, and down to earth. At least she was until she stopped in at a charity auction and fell in love with a wedding gown with a history. She bid for it but lost to a failed matchmaking client who has been carrying a grudge against Greer since the agency failed to find a match for him.
Sitting next to Greer at the auction is this British dude in a plaid jacket who catches her attention. Ford Smith is an artist who has come to Charleston to get over a broken heart since his fiance was caught cheating just before they could walk down the aisle. Ford is also an artist who needs one more painting for an upcoming show that could jump his career to a new level. Ford is hiding the fact that his is a wealthy Baron from everyone. He takes one look at Greer and decides that she will be the perfect subject for his painting.
When Pierre Simmons, the failed client and owner of a fashionable women's clothing store, decides to run a contest to gain publicity for his new bridal department, Greer decides to enter. She doesn't have a boyfriend, let alone a fiance, but the rules don't say she has to have one. However, to win any of Pierre's challenges, she needs a partner. Greer asks Ford to be her partner and she will pose for him in exchange. They grow closer as they take part in the challenges but neither is looking for a romance. Ford has his broken engagement and a ex-fiance who is pregnant with twins who might be Ford's children. Greer is looking for true love and seems to be expecting it to just drop into her lap.
There were a lot of things going on in this story. Greer had turned down a marriage proposal from a boy she grew up with and her parents are still guilting her about it. Now he and his new fiance have come to Charleston and end up in the same contest as Greer. Greer is also helping a client get her career as a designer off the ground and helping her reconnect with the man she loves. Ford has family issues with an older brother who is an addict in addition to his pregnant ex-fiance. He also suffers from a lot of doubt about his talent as an artist.
Fans of romances will enjoy this story.
This is the 2nd book in the series. I thought the 1st book was great, but this one is even better! The author has done a great job at making the characters interesting and easy to relate too. The plot of this story kept me intrigued and wanting more. I was sad when the story ended, but I am hoping for another book in this series!
