LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SERIES!!!!
Reed is the 10th book in the Cold Fury series. Some would think that by book 10 a series might be getting old. NOPE, it is getting BETTER!!!!!!
Reed and Josie….sigh. I love these two. The chemistry between these two practically set my Kindle on fire. I read this book in one sitting, I just could not put it down, I just kept flipping pages until I read the last work. Then I was pissed because I finished it, I wanted it to just go on and on. But that happens when ever I read one of the books in the series. I LOVE the fact that we get to see what some of the previous characters are doing. I guess that is why I love reading this series. I fall for all of the characters and I ALWAYS want to know more. Yeah, I guess I am a stalker in a way….. But da…rn I love these guys.
I discovered this phenomenal series and author thru NetGalley when I read Zack the 3rd book in this series and I have been a fan ever since of both the series and the author.
I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my reading pleasure and it most definitely enjoyed it and I wanted to tell you why.
I helped you make the decision to purchase this wonderful book. Now, what are you waiting for, go hit that one-click button!!!
Thank you for reading my review.
I think this may be my new favorite Cold Fury book. Reed was the manwhore.. or at least one of them and when the book starts nothing really changed other than we can see he really wasn't feeling his manwhore ways. Then he meets his new neighbor and BOOM his world changes and he really doesn't know what to do. It is a great book. I loved it and it has wonderful character growth and not just Reed.
These two have some amazing chemistry and of course, it has some great humor. This book is one to come back to time and again for a good laugh and a great pick me up romance. I loved it. I highly recommend it.
*4.5 stars*
A girl next door romance that made me smile, smile, smile!
You would think by now, after nine book in the series already, that I would be bored of the Cold Fury boys and their shenanigans. NOTHING could be farther from the truth! They are a team, a family, with each story intertwining their lives yet offering something new each and every time. I’ve been waiting for Reed’s story and it was all things adorable… and hot… and fun…
I LOVED how Reed and Josie met! Nothing like a confrontation to get the blood – and the conversation – going. It didn’t play out quite like I would have thought yet this first meeting was hilarious and opened the door for so much goodness to come…
Reed is a self-proclaimed manwhore. He wasn’t ashamed of it and was looking forward to reveling in it all summer long. Enter the girl next door who was going to challenge every thought he had on the opposite sex, and how he viewed them…
“…and as much as I’d like to say we’re just friends, the truth is I don’t want to be just friends with her.”
Their story was romantic and incredibly hot. Turn up the fan, grabby hands all over, HOT! And if that was their focus, all the other stuff – friends stuff –snuck up on them while they were, um, busy. And a sneak attack of the feels as well! It was a slow burn. It was a lovers to friends story to savour.
“Like toe curling, mind blowing, and I’m ruined for any other type of sex.”
If the ending was a bit quiet for me, a bit hidden in the deliciousness of Marek’s story yet to come, Josie and Reed’s romance delivered exactly what I was hoping for – book happiness!
“It’s just… love.”
Marek and Gracen are up next and I can’t wait. CANNOT. WAIT!
Reed is now my favorite player for the Cold Fury and he didn't play a single game in this book. Josie was great as his friend with benefits as well. Mostly very realistic medical aspects helped me to enjoy this book as well. Can't wait for more of them as the series progresses as I'm sure Reed will have an active role in Marek's book.
Working long shifts as an ER doctor, doesn't leave much time for dating or socializing. Upon returning home from a long shift, Josie is rudely awakened by screaming and a headboard banging against the wall. So Josie storms over to her neighbor's where she meets Reed and one of his many "Barbies".
Reed, a player for Cold Fury, has just come off a winning season--nabbing the Stanley Cup. So Reed plans to use the off-season having as much fun as possible. Although Josie isn't really his "type", he finds her intriguing. Reed finds ways to insert himself into Josie's life, while encouraging her to be spontaneous. No more puzzles every night!
Quirky, adorable, funny, endearing...all words to describe Sawyer Bennett's latest Cold Fury novel. The Barbie nicknames were incredibly innovative and hilarious. Reed, so far, is my favorite Cold Fury player! Even though he was portrayed as a player, he had a kind heart. Josie was sassy, intelligent, sarcastic, caring, but also broken. Reed was able to slowly break down those walls to earn her loyalty and trust. I absolutely loved date night under the stars! Josie and Reed had so many layers to delve into, but it was so worth the time. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy from the author.
Reed was a fun addition to the Cold Fury series. I've read every book in this series, some I love and some I didn't. I have to admit that the beginning kind of turned me off of their love story, but I eventually got over it. The one thing I really liked about this story line is how Reed and Josie started out as just friends. I loved seeing the progression of their friendship slowly turning in to more. They were perfect for each other, the professional hockey player and the doctor. I also liked seeing a glimmer of the next book in the series. I always enjoy how each book in this series is standalone but you get to see previous and new characters with each story. If you enjoy this hockey series, then this book is a one not to be missed.
I really enjoyed this charming, friends to lovers romance. Reed Olson and ER Dr. Josie Ives are new neighbors. Their first meeting was a little rough but they soon became fast friends. Reed is looking for a summer of no cares and lots of women. That is until he meets Josie, who is feisty, funny and so not his type. But he can't stop thinking about her and soon she turns his world upside down. Josie had her heart broken years ago, and with her busy hospital schedule, she isn't looking for a relationship. But Reed shows her how to live in the moment, and have fun as he learns that just sitting with Josie, drinking beer and working on a puzzle, are the best times of his life. I really loved the witty banter, Reed's sweet gestures, and their smoking hot chemistry. There are a few bumps in the road along the way to their HEA that kept me totally engaged in this fast paced, sexy romance. This is the first book in this series that I've read, and I definitely want to check out the first 9 books!
I can’t believe this is the 10th book in this series! Every book just keeps getting better and better! I like that this book was a little bit different. It’s not hockey season but rather just after they have won another Stanley cup. Reed and Josie live in townhomes next to each other. Reed has been doing a lot of “dating” and his neighbor Josie likes to give him crap about his Barbie type of girls he “dates”. The two form a unique friendship that will eventually turn to friends with benefits. I really like the chemistry written between the two it was very well done. Some of the Cold Fury gang shows up and was fun to get an update on what was going on with them. Super good book and a great addition to the cold fury series. I highley recommend this book. And I must say I can’t wait to read Marek story!
Another winner and another favorite. If you never read any of Sawyer Bennett books, and you accidently came across this one, you will not be disappointed. You like Reed and Josie, from the start and they made quite the unlikely couple. Reed a celebrity hockey player and Josie, an ER doc who got too little sleep, thanks to him.
It had a little bit of everything from humor and Barbies to Steaminess and you'll enjoy every minute of it.
So if and when you get a chance, pick up a copy and enjoy.
This is the 10th book in the cold fury series but it can be read as a standalone,
oh read how I love him, it's off season and reed is after some different action so he sets out to find a "barbie" lookalike according to Josie to be with.
I loved Josie and reed so much they make me swoon, laugh and cry all at once.
I volunteered to read a copy of this book
Loved loved loved Reed and Josie!! Their relationship started in the funniest way ever and from there a very genuine friendship that turned into more.
Josie is an ER doctor and Reed is a famous hockey player that has never had a relationship. Josie is married to her job. All of that changes the day she finally meets her neighbor that parades a strings of Barbies every day. It was so funny. Reed started noticing her after she yelled at him and from then he was intrigued. She was nothing like the women he’s use to “dating”. He made sure Josie loosened up a little. Then things changed between them. Their relationship was the best.
I liked that no one from Reed past interferes in their relationship. But someone from Josie’s past appears and Reed thinks he’s not enough for her. Who would’ve thought the sexy jock was insecure when it came to his “Doc”.
After Josie set him straight he got out of his head. I’m glad they weren’t apart long and loved how the book showed each growth in their relationship. Throw in two of his teammates and you’ll have a good read.
Reed and Josie's story is the perfect Cold Fury off season romance! I liked that this story wasn't all hot, hot, hot right from the beginning. Their relationship truly develops through the story and you're right there along for the ride.
Josie is Reed's new neighbor, and it's his flings which causes Josie to knock on his door. That's the beginning to their fun, romantic, and adorable relationship. Along the way, there's doubt and frustration, but it's a true test to their relationship.
Love Reed and Josie! Can't wait to hear more about them in Marek's story! Sawyer Bennett doesn't it again!
Reed Olson and Josie Ives’ first interaction could not have been more perfect in an ‘I can’t believe this is happening way.’ Reed’s in the midst of his off-season screw fest with his ‘Barbie Brigade’ when Josie, a spirited ER Doc and Reed’s neighbor, has a few choice words for Reed and the ‘Screaming Barbie’ that’s keeping her awake. From there, what follows is a mutually beneficial friendship that has both Reed and Josie attaching feelings to their casual arrangement.
I absolutley loved Josie. She’s sarcastic, intelligent, and honest and she calls Reed on his shit, which is a nice change of pace for Reed because he’s not used to anyone seeing past his built body and professional hockey player lifestyle. She’s a fantastic doctor and people are drawn to her simply because she’s sincere and unflappable.
Reed is the quintessential ‘player.’ The kind of guy who believes that one night stands are all he needs to be fulfilled, but he soon changes his perspective when Josie comes into his life and he can’t help but want to constantly be around her, on top of her and beneath her in every possible way.
Reed and Josie’s story is definitely light on the angst because even though they never really define what they are to each other, it’s clear that what they’ve developed is more than a casual arrangement and despite moments of self-doubt and overthinking, the fact that they can be truthful with one another and talk things through without overreacting, for the most part, allows them to workout any issues they have and realize that what they’ve built is everything they never knew they wanted and ultimately needed.
Reed is a sweet and steamy read that illustrates just how good a relationship can become when it’s built on a foundation of friendship and how looking outside of one’s ‘stereotypical’ type can result in finding someone who ‘gets’ him/her in every way, proving that it takes more than just physical attraction to create something that can withstand busy schedules, a bit of jealousy, a past relationship, and the buxom and beautiful ‘Barbie Brigade.’
4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
Such a good book. Reed is the story of opposites attract. Josie is a doctor, and Reed is a hockey player. They shouldn't match up, but they do in this wonderful tale of lust, love, humor, self doubt, insecurities, and sexy times. Reed proves that underneath confidence some people have, there is always room for self doubt. Told in dual pov.
I do love the Cold Fury Series. Reed comes across as manwhore and you soon find out he really is kinda of sweet. I'll admit the dumb Barbie bimbo lines kept me laughing. Meeting his new neighbor Josie was a great start to a friendship between neighbors and grew into some sexy times for both. Josie is an ER doctor and there comes a time when Reed really isn't sure he is good enough for her. I really loved how Josie was a strong women who knew when to fight for her man. I loved checking in on past Cold Fury members and waiting to see who will fall next!
I love nothing more than a Sawyer Bennett book! And her Cold Fury series gets better and better. Reed, the 10th book in this series (yes, it all can be a standalone), is one of my favorite. It's sweet, sexy and with little drama! Reed and Josie probably weren't the perfect match on paper, but together, they were hot with chemistry!
Reed Olson, a member of the Cold Fury team, is taking it easy during his off season. They've won back to back championships games and he's ready for some fun this summer. But when he meets his fiesty, sassy and cute next door neighbor, his summer plans change.
Dr. Josie Ives is a very busy ER doctor. And when her next door neighbor wakes her up in the middle of the night, with some loud banging and screaming between the walls--she's had enough. But she's more than surprised when the hot neighbor, Reed, answers the door.
Josie and Reed become neighborly and the more they spend time together, the more feelings for each other develop. But Reed thinks the smart doctor needs more in life than just a hockey player. Again, this book is sexy and fun and it leaves you hanging for more of Cold Fury men! Seriously, I need Marek's book now!
Wow; can't believe this is the 10th book in the Cold Fury series, however, you can jump in here as this book can definitely be read on a stand alone basis.
I really enjoyed this one and I think that Reed is up there as being one of my favorite stories from this series. It was a lovely sweet romance that was filled with plenty of humor and I found myself smiling and chuckling throughout. Refreshingly this story had very little drama and angst and I was able to read this one right through. The characters are great and had fantastic chemistry and their initial banter was utterly charming. I had no issues buying into the relationship that developed between these.
All in all, this was a solid, enjoyable read and I look forward to the next from this series.
I was provided with a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley; there was no inducement or obligation and I have opted to leave a review.
New Release & Review: Reed by Sawyer Bennett

I want to start by saying I love the Cold Fury series! And I enjoyed reading Reed!
Reed Olson and Josie Ives definitely fit… though how they meet did set me off a bit… I did enjoy watching their friendship develop. I adored how Reed wanted to know more about the good doctor. I love loved how he was impressed with her career and intelligence.
The friendship and the banter between these two allows the reader (or at least me personally) to put some distance between how these two first meet.
As I spent more time with Reed and Josie and as I was a witness to their developing bond, I could feel them connecting. In the end I was rooting for them to embrace the connection in front of them.
The chapters that surround Marek, Reed’s teammate OMG; so powerful. These chapters also spoke to what a great friend Reed is.
Though this book is not my favorite of the series… I did enjoy it and the build up to Marek. Those few chapters may be some of the best chapters in this series, a series that contains some of my favorite reads of all time.
I am so excited for Marek… like it may be my most antipcated read of 2018!
This books takes place during the off season which is different..
Reed is the hot shot playboy hockey player with a revolving door of women. Josie is an ER doctor who has moved in next door.. All she wants is sleep and with the bedroom next door rocking all night every night she is not getting any.. When she decides to confront her neighbor she is not expecting to find a friend in the end. Josie is not the typical woman Reed falls for so a friend is exactly what she is for now.. When things escalate to benefits will they fall in love? When Josie's ex comes back in the picture will Reed just walk away?
Great story .
Friends to lovers romances are among my favorite themes and with this newest addition to the Cold Fury hockey series readers will find themselves utterly delighted by the sweet yet combustible romance driving this story. From its witty and flirty banter to sentimental words and deeds readers will be quickly captivated, wrapped up in a warm blanket of charm that I’m still thinking about long after The End.
Josie Ives is dedicated to being an ER doctor, leaving her little time for friends or a social life. She doesn’t mind not having a social life though as she’s still nursing a bruised heart after the future she thought set in stone vanished before her very eyes on an ultimatum. The moment she meets her sexy, but annoyingly superficial next door neighbor she suddenly finds herself with an unexpected new friend who slowly becomes more in a relationship that put a smile on my face. As their relationship deepens insecurities and a blast from the past come forth to cause a speed bump on their journey to HEA. Through it all though Josie’s an immensely likable heroine who’s not afraid to speak her mind and it made for an entertaining verbal tug of war between her and Reed. She’s a bit bitter at the start of the story over her ex-boyfriend Aiden leaving her to pursue his dream, but being around Reed brought out a more lively and carefree side. She’s a bit of a homebody at times but Reed takes her outside her comfort zone in a relationship that ultimately made both of them better people.
Reed Olson is footloose and fancy free when it comes to living the life of a successful hockey player. He’s always been content with one-night stands with women who have pretty packages but little substance. Recently though he’s grown bored with the same old-same old...until his new next door neighbor makes an unforgettable introduction. While he’s happy to be her friend at first it soon becomes clear that the challenge she presents him with is exactly what he’s been waiting for in a connection that deepens as he tries to get her to see him as more than a friend. Reed’s larger than life, the quintessential book boyfriend for his sexy and heartfelt words and deeds. He treats Josie like a queen, is drawn to her for her mind and body, and doesn’t hesitate to put her on a pedestal. He comes off as superficial early on but there’s a lot of substance to him that I enjoyed seeing revealed as the story went on. He’s so self-assured when it comes to hockey, but when it comes to Josie and matters of love his insecurities came out. I ached for him as he didn’t feel worthy of her but it’s quite clear to readers that he’s exactly what she needs. Ultimately he’s a true romantic at heart and wants only the best for Josie in a relationship that charmed me from the first page to the last.
This is a pleasant romance with only a moment of angst that had me smiling from the very start due to its entertaining main couple who crackled whenever they were together. Their banter was rapid-fire and teeming with sexual tension that culminated in the first of many erotically-charged encounters nicely spaced throughout the story. They’re a dynamic duo in a fully believable relationship where heartfelt talks balanced with scorching interludes which had me rooting for them every step of the way. Surrounding this unforgettable main couple was a small cast of secondary characters who helped drive the narrative while laying the groundwork for their own moment to take center stage. One of those characters is Marek, Reed’s teammate, who seems equally carefree when it comes to women. When he hears his ex is getting married though he and Reed crash the ceremony where Marek discovers a life-altering secret that leaves readers wanting more and counting down the days until his story hits bookshelves. Though this book is part of the Cold Fury hockey series no time is spent on the ice which gives ample time to the burgeoning relationship between Josie and Reed. Through every word and deed, through every fun and flirty act, I found myself wholeheartedly entertained by this decadent delight and recommend it to all those looking for a romance full of heart and heat!
