I don't think I will ever not be excited to see a new book in this series. I loved the friendship between Reed and Josie in the beginning. Their banter and the easy way they slipped into something more. Fairly low drama and fun, sexy times made this a great read.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Reed, always looking for a good time, just never with the same lady. He has a type... a barbie! They all look the same, but they are all a little different. One night it all changes when his next-door neighbor bangs on his door and asks him to keep it down... she can hear the bed hitting the wall she shares with him ;-)
Josie, the sexy Dr. who works and works and works with not much of a social life finds her next-door neighbor sexy and funny as she see him with his many dates who all look the same to her. She does not know he is a famous hockey player and as soon as she finds out she understand the revolving door of woman.
Reed sees something in her that he has never seen in another woman and wants to get to know her. Their friendship turns into a little something more, but what? As they spend more time together, they both are enjoying where this is going..... but with hockey season starting soon and a lost love who comes home to find Josie... what will happen? Does Josie see herself with Reed? Is Reed good enough for Josie? There are some big questions they need to get answered, will they be able to find true love or was their relationship just a summer fling?
Another enjoyable story in the hugely successful Cold Fury Hockey series.
Reed was a bit of a quiet and unassuming character. I expected bravado but he came across as a sweet but insecure character. Living a relatively shallow life, with a line of Barbie-esque women spending an all too brief time in his company, Reed has never experienced love, until he meets the effervescent Josie.
When Josie unexpectedly bangs on his door thanks to Reed’s headboard banging against her bedroom wall, he finds a spitfire of a woman who is the complete opposite of one of his so-called Barbies. Josie, as Reed’s neighbour, knows he likes a certain type of women and as a result, gives all of his woman a Barbie themed name.
Josie is a doctor working in emergency medicine at the local hospital and is the polar opposite to Reed, or so he thinks. Despite this, the duo quickly forms a friendship and Reed, who’s in the off-season, finds himself wanting to take care of Josie and ends up spending more time with her. Keen to take their friendship into unknown territory, for Reed, he doesn’t know how to make the next step with Josie. With Josie’s confidence though, they soon have a romantic break-through.
The story doesn’t really have any ups and downs to it until Reed starts to doubt the part he plays in Josie’s life and as a result, this was an easy to read story which was relatively short. The story was lacking in plot somewhat and didn’t have the same fast pace as other titles in the series. That said, this was still an enjoyable read. The build-up to Marek’s story looks to offer a much more complicated storyline though and I can’t wait to read it.
Reed has meet his match in Josie. She's not his normal type even remotely. This book has no hockey, which is pretty unusual for the series but the entire storyline is after the Stanley Cup win. We get more one on one time with Red and Josie. It's a nice glimpse into her career as well. And of course we get a sneak peek at the drama that will surely ensue in Marek's book.
Oh Reed...dear God...Reed. He is all things that you are looking for. He is tall, handsome, he is flirty, and charming. He is gorgeous and he plays hockey.
Josie is smart, intelligent, confident and sexy. She has a big heart and is fun to be around.
These two start out as friends and it morphs into something more very quickly. Nether one of them know how to handle it. They give it a go and it's amazing to read it unfold. Josie helps Reed be a better man and Reed helps Josie be more relaxed. They are prefect for each other. They have amazing chemistry. When Josie ex's come back to town and Reed starts thinking he is not good enough for her is when all the nagging problems start to take a toll on their relationship.
This book is chalk full of hot, dirty parts and equally as sweet and gentle ones. It's a must read. Sawyer's books are always a must read.

I really enjoyed this newest addition to the Cold Fury series! Though this is book 10 in the interconnected series, it can be read as a stand alone. I definitely recommend reading the earlier books though because previous characters in the series do appear and the books are wonderful!
I think Josie might be my favorite Bennett heroine so far! She is independent, intelligent, and driven, as well as sexy and confident. She knows what she wants and speaks her mind. I loved that she challenged Reed and that they each brought out the best in the other (even if it scared them). Yes, their meet cute was anything but cute, but it did offer them the opportunity to truly be friends first and lovers second. I appreciated that even though they were strongly attracted to each other, their relationship progressed naturally. It's no secret the manwhore hero is my very least trope, so it was hard to get past Reed's colorful history initially. His revolving door of Barbies made me cringe, but I did like that once he truly noticed Josie, there was no one else in the picture. Throw in some incredibly swoony and romantic gestures and I was solidly on Team Reed.
I do want to note that Reed was a little different than the previous Cold Fury books I've read because there actually isn't any hockey in the story (besides the mention of training camp and the appearance of the Stanley Cup). It takes place during the off season, so calling this a sports romance is a bit of a misnomer. There was a great lead in to the next book, Marek, and I'm excited for the next installment to the Cold Fury series ( secret baby - check, high school sweetheart - check, a possible second chance at love? - SOLD! )
*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*
Ahhh Reed! I’ve been so excited for his book and it did not disappoint! Reed is sexy, fun and Charming and Josie is smart, independent and probably one of my favourite heroines of the Cold Fury series.
I loved the way their relationship develops from friendship to more and I just enjoyed more of the Cold Fury series! I need more!
I may not know much about hockey, but I am a huge fan of Cold Fury! And now I'm a huge fan of Reed and Josie. The way they met is so comical, I loved it. Cracked me right up.
Reed and Josie may come from two different worlds, but they find lots of common ground together. I like that they discover how much better things are together than how their lives had been in the past.
BTW, Reed is a TOTAL romantic- omg loved all his sweet surprises!
This has dual pov, a HEA, and can be read as a stand alone. It also gives us a small glimpse into what might be starting out in the next book, so yay! I read this in one day, so good!
5 star Review Reed (Cold Fury Hockey # 10) by Sawyer Bennett
This is book 10 in one of my favourite series and this time it is Reed Olson and Josie Ives who heat up the sheets.
Can it really be true that opposites attract? Reed is a player, both on and off the ice not looking for romance, just a good time with a hot blonde who is not too bright. Josie is the girl next door, a dark haired, lovely and obviously clever woman.
Josie desperately in need of sleep, heads over to her neighbour Reed’s to request he be considerate. All she wants is a little less knocking of the headboard on the walls at night which is keeping her awake. Josie is surprised to find that not only is Reed as handsome and tempting as she thought he would be, but he is also extremely funny and charming. A friendship soon forms but can it develop into more when these two obviously have nothing in common?
Josie is one of those feisty characters that I loved from the start, Reed not so much although I am pleased to say that he grew on me as the book progressed. Together the two of them absolutely sizzle, their chemistry smoulders to a point where you expect them to explode.
The banter between Reed and Josie had me in stitches at times and there were quite a few funny moments. Sawyer Bennett’s characters are always strong, yet vulnerable and her writing is excellent.
This series gets better and better and the Cold Fury team seems to me to be a family and I loved catching up on the previous couples and seeing what is happening in their lives.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book through NetGalley from the publisher.
I just love a good friends-to-lovers book and this one is a gem. Reed and Josie are neighbors-turned good friends-turned lovers and I absolutely loved watching them fall in love. Of course, there's the initial attraction and appeal that they found in each other, but they were genuinely friends first and I really appreciated that. This book was a touch different from the rest of the series, since it takes place in the off season of hockey, so you don't get much of Reed playing or practicing. It does come into play, but not as much as it did in the other books, which I didn't mind at all, but just letting you know. There is a ton of focus on their developing relationship with a bit of Marek's story added in so you're intrigued about his upcoming book. I have to say, Marek is going to have to do something pretty monumental to win me over after I learned more about his in this book.
Anyways, back to Josie and Reed. Josie is a successful doctor and a homebody who loves puzzles. How cute is that? I related to her a lot and genuinely liked her. Her attitude toward Reed was very refreshing as well and I loved their banter, especially when it came to Reed's "barbies" and their chemistry was amazing. Reed is your typical playboy type who never commits, but he also has a sweet demeanor and is indeed a really nice guy. You get a good amount of fun times, serious moments, and low-key drama in this book, which made it one of my favorite of the series.
I'd highly recommend this book if you're already a fan of the series and of Sawyer's. If you haven't given this series a try yet, what are you waiting for?!
Wickedly engaging from the opening scene.
Reed and Josie work well together as friends who click, have witty banter, beer, pizza and puzzles in common and then later as closer companions as their relationship progresses.
A truly lovely read, with spicy bits thrown in, and thought provoking tangents about life and love. Loved the progression of friends to lovers and the connection these two had from the very beginning.
Reed was a sweet romance. I loved that Reed and Josie started out as friends and it turned into more. I loved watching their relationship grow and change, it was one of the best friends to lovers I have read in a while. I loved the banter between them, it had me laughing a lot. I also loved that this one wasn't full of drama and angst. I can't wait for more.

We're back with the hotties from the Carolina Hockey team!
Reed.
The season is over - they won the Cup again!
And now Reed has the whole summer in front of him. And nothing planned but having fun with some casual sex. His favorite kind of hook-up is the Barbie type. Lots of boobs, not too much brain.
And on one of those Barbie nights he meets his new neighbor Doctor Josie.
She knocks on his door to tell him that his Barbie should try to be a bit quieter in the throes of passion!
And that little encounter in the middle of the night turns strangers Josie and Reed into very good friends. They suddenly spend all their free time together having fun and doing puzzles and eating and going out. But only as friends - even though both are very attracted to the other. But they're also SO not each other's type ... or are they? Could they be? Will they? Won't they? And what happens when her ex issuddenly back in town?
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO JOSiE & REED????
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺☺☺
JANEANE
Woohoo, time to head back to North Carolina and spend some time with the hockey hotties from the Cold Fury.
Reed is a very sweet, very cute friends to FWB to more story that I read in one evening.
Ms Bennett had me laughing in the first chapter (hello Screaming Barbie) and the wallbanging moments, and I was hooked from then on.
I adore Reed and Josie. From their first interactions I just loved their banter. The chemistry between our lovelies was off the charts, and I couldn't help but need them to be more.
I love Reed's banter with his team mates. We don't get much hockey in this one - hey, they boys need a break after winning Sir Stanley - however we still do get most of the lads and their ladies. I love love loved getting more of where Alex and Sutton were at in particular (oh, it seems so long ago that we were introduced to them!)
What I particularly liked was that that there was no drama for drama's sake. Did Reed and Josie have their problems? Sure, who doesn't. But they acted like adults and sorted their sh!t out!
I have said that a few books ago the quality in this series had disappointingly dropped (to me anyways) so it is great to say that Reed is up there with the best of the series.
We have great set up for the next book, Marek. Oh boy, this is going to be a story and a half. Is it May yet?
Bring it on Ms Bennett, bring it on!
"Put a muzzle on Screaming Barbie."
The author had me laughing out loud in the first chapter of Reed and totally invested from the get-go. I devoured this latest installment in the Cold Fury Hockey series in one sitting, unable to put it down.
Reed & Josie are a perfect example of the opposites attract theory. His tastes run to what she calls Barbie dolls, the tall, blonde and stacked variety. She's witnessed his neverending supply coming and going and has started labeling them #ScreamingBarbie #CarbieBarbie #FashionistaBarbie #DitzyBarbie, etc... She's not threatened by them, she just can't get any sleep with all the noise and headboard banging coming from the bedroom next door. She's an ER Physician and works 12+ hour shifts, she needs her sleep. When she knocks on his door at 1:00 AM to complain he's highly amused by her snark. He's mentally agreeing with her description of the blonde currently standing naked behind him. She's nothing like what he's drawn to in a sexual way, but she seems like she'd be a lot of fun to hang out with as a friend.
Josie is not intimidated by Reed's celebrity status because she doesn't even own a television. Since she's not trying to draw his attention, she just takes it in stride when she gets it. She finds their friendly banter amusing and she doesn't pull any punches when she teases him about his Barbies. When he sees her coming home late and offers to share his pizza they become buds. Since she is not his type, being short with brown hair and a brain, she is not expecting more. But that doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate his physical perfection and have fantasies about being the girl in the bed that's banging against the wall.
It was a delicious delight watching this cute couple argue with themselves and each other. Of course, I knew that they would eventually give up and give in. It was so fun anticipating how and when that would happen. I can't get enough of this series, and I hope it keeps going forever. The author teased me mercilessly by giving me a glimpse into the future regarding another #HockeyHottie and I'm excited to get to know him and the lady in his future better. The line forms here...
Reed is the tenth book in the series Cold Fury. Every book, Sawyer Bennett delivers a great story that makes me want to never have to say goodbye to these guys.
Here we have the story of Reed and Josie and who knew a doctor in the ER and a sexy hockey player would be the perfect match.I don't, but believe it or not, they won on the first pages on the unusual meeting that turned into a friendship that obviously turned out to be much more.
I loved how the Sawyer Bennet developed the relationship of these two, was believable and fun to read, I loved watching Reed and Josie doing the transition from friends to lovers and I really enjoyed this book didn't have unnecessary drama. Thank you so much for this lol.
Reed is a great addition to this series, bringing a great romance with touches of humor, ideal to get me involved with this story to the end.And of course as it should be, the glimpse we had of the next book left me here looking forward to the next adventure which I'm Board with these guys..
Reed is a fun, sexy, friends to lovers story, and a great addition to the Cold Fury series! When Reed's extracurricular (*wink wink*) activities start to interfere with Josie's sleep she confronts her hockey player neighbor.
I loved this book. It was funny, sexy, sweet and full of swoon. Josie was a strong, slightly damaged, heroine that was lovable. Reed was portrayed as a bit of a manwhore but I found him to be charming. His harem on blond barbies, and Josie's name for each of them, added just the right amount of humor. THe chemistry was off the charts and the banter was a lot of fun.
I'm a big fan of this author and I'm always excited to devour her words. This is the 10th book in this series but it still feels fresh. I can't wait to see what's next.
Reed is the 10th book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. Yes, you read that right. The 10th! I can’t get enough of these books. There is something about them that makes me want to drop whatever I’m doing and read one as soon as it comes out! This was one I was a bit hesitant to read (I wasn’t crazy about the blurb) but once I got into it, it was just as fantastic as the rest!
Reed Olsen is a hockey player for the Cold Fury. His neighbor is an ER doctor who works long shifts. One thing Josie Ives need is sleep. So when Reed starts keeping her up at all hours of the night being inconsiderate, she goes over and gives him a piece of her mind. I loved Josie from the start. I loved her puzzles, her take no crap attitude, and the way she and Reed became friends. They have this pull to one another and once I got into this book, I didn’t want to put it down!
After professing Van, book 9 in this series, as my favorite book in the Cold Fury series (it still is), Reed had a lot to live up to! And after the first few chapters, I gotta tell you, I was nervous. I don’t always love male characters like this. But Reed, he grew on me. I grew to love him! He and Josie were a fantastic match and I adored them together! Reed was deep down a good guy. He was kind, sweet, and a lot of fun. I thought Josie was great as well! I loved her personality and the fact that she was a hard worker and didn’t take any of his bs.
This series is a fabulous sports romance series, and I get excited with each new book. After reading about the situation with our next hero, I’m equally excited and terrified to read his book! For those of you who love friends to lovers stories, this is one I highly recommend!
OMG OMG OMG!
I absolutely loved loved loved this book😍
Every time I read a book written by Sawyer Bennett, I'm surprised (and shouldn't be anymore) at how much I love her writing style. It's like she gets better and better with every book, and even if I have other things to do, I can't seem to help devouring her books when they land on my kindle😂
Reed was absolutely no exception to this Sawyer Bennet’s addiction.
It was everything I was hoping for, and even more.
Reed and Josie made such an awesome couple. The fact that their relationship started as friendship only helped their connection to grow stronger and stronger.
Reading this book I clearly felt an ease in their relationship, the feeling of having found a person with whom you can be yourself without fear. They felt good when in each other’s company.
Reed was, well, Reed. Such a down to earth guy, a kind good guy who won my heart from the beginning. The little attentions he gave Josie, and even the difficult moment in their relationship, are indication of his kind heart and generosity.
He was really perfect for Josie, a woman who was burned in the relationship field, and who brought with her the consequences. You don’t have to imagine a delicate and fragile woman because of this: on the contrary, Josie was really admirable and strong, maybe a little lonely, but absolutely not fragile. She was a self made woman, and by self made I mean a woman who knows her worth, her goals and isn’t scared to enter a rough path to reach them.
This book was so good, I want to read it all over again. I strongly recommend to read it, because it’s really worth it.
And last thing: Sawyer Bennett, that cliffhanger about the next book and its protagonists!!! That was just meannnnn :P
Wow! Just amazing! I think I say this after every Cold Fury book and I hope I get to say it for many more to come! I mean, players retire and new players are drafted on to a team so this should be a never ending series, right? How can all of these men be so lovable and incredible? Because Sawyer likes to make us swoon and smile with her well written, sexy stories.
Book 10 is about the sexy Reed Olson. It is the off-season but Reed plays just as hard with his endless stream of “Barbies” in his bed as he does with his team on the ice. He lives in a town home so his bedroom actually abuts his neighbor’s bedroom. Josie Ives is Reed’s neighbor and she is so tired of the headboard banging and screaming next door especially when she gets off her ER shift and desperately needs sleep. After confronting Reed one day, they end up developing a nice friendship and start spending a lot of time together. I am a huge fan of friends to lovers especially when it is on a slow burn. Watching these two people realize that what they have is so much more than friendship is wonderful. This is a sweet, funny, sexy and steamy story that will leave you smiling right down to the last page.
Advance copy provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.
Reed Olson is enjoying his summer post Cold Fury’s Stanley Cup win. His downtime includes enjoying bevy of beautiful women that do not totally satisfy him mentally or sexually. Until he meets his neighbor. Josie knocks on Reed’s door late one night asking him to tone down the noise from his bedroom. She is the opposite of the women he has been seeing, which piques his interest. After their initial meeting, they develop a friendship that blossoms into more. Their witty repartee and sexual chemistry light up the pages. As always Sawyer delivers a fast paced and entertaining read.
