Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury Series is one of my favorites and Reed was a fantastic addition. While this book can be read as a standalone, I think reading the series in order makes it more well rounded.
The season is freshly over and Reed Olson is ready to celebrate. Not only will there be plenty of parties, he knows there will also be plenty of women just like he likes them. Reed definitely has a type and he's ready to party with them all. So ready in fact that his bed frame and his wall are getting quite the workout, which leads to him meeting his new next door neighbor when she pays him a visit.
All Josie Ives wants is some sleep. After her long shifts in the ER at the hospital, she just wants to get some rest while she can. Instead she's listening to the incessant banging of the headboard on the wall in the apartment adjacent to hers. Josie goes and pays her neighbor a visit and she gets a lot more than she bargained for when she meets the carefree hockey player who resides there.
As Josie and Reed settle into an unlikely friendship, they begin to spend time together and they realize that maybe there is something to the old adage of "friends with benefits." Will this unlikely duo be able to make something last long term or will things from the past come up and cause problems?
This book was full of heart, off the charts chemistry, humor and emotion. There were times I was laughing out loud and other times I felt extremely emotional for the characters. Sawyer Bennett has a knack for balancing these emotions so well and in the end gives us a well rounded, absolutely beyond enjoyable story! The other thing I can say is that I am very intrigued and ready for Marek's book! It should be a good one!
4.5☆ I loved Reed, both the book and the guy. Him and Josie are so adorable together. I love their relationship, especially how they meet and get to know each other. Reed is really sweet with Josie and he brings out the spontaneous side to her. Josie is a very smart, hardworking, and compassionate person. I like how simple she is and how she doesn't need much to make her happy. I would have liked to know a little bit more about their pasts, but I still felt like I knew their present selves pretty well. I enjoyed the storyline even though there really wasn't any hockey in it. We still had some updates from the other players, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a really good book that made me smile and laugh.
I love the cold fury series!! Every book is better than the last, and Reed was no exception. Reed meets Josie when she knocks on his door because he is being too loud and is keeping her up. These two start an immediate friendship. Their friendship is the foundation of this story and makes their romance even more special. What starts as friendship becomes so much more. This book is a must read!

Reed by Sawyer Bennett is such a good read!
The storyline is well written, easy to follow and hard to put down!
I loved Reed and Josie together, they're likable characters that I easily connected with while watching them fall in love.
These two appear to be such opposites, one looking for a good time right now and not worrying about tomorrow and the other is head down, serious and giving her all to her job.
But the more time they spend together, we get to see they might not be as opposites as they first appear. They both have a big heart, they're passionate, giving and honest people who find comfort and love when they least expect it.
Love wasn't something they were looking for but how can you not follow your heart when you find that person who just gets you?
Reed and Josie made me smile, they made me laugh with their banter and they made me swoon with their love story.
I truly had a great time reading their story.
Reed is a great addition to the Cold Fury Hockey series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all!

Reed was your typical playboy/athlete. He team won the Stanley cup and life was good. He was going to enjoy his off season. To him that meant a different woman every night. He didn't do relationships. Didn't want to be tied down. Every night another notch was added to his headboard. That was until the night Josie knocked on his door.
Josie was an emergency room doctor and was getting tired of Reed's nightly activity with his "Barbies" and the noise of the headboard banging on the wall she and Reed shared. When she finally had enough she knocked on his door. From this day on a friendship was born. She was unlike any woman he involved himself with. She was smart, intelligent, and beautiful. As time went on he not only wanted to share a bed with her but wanted to share himself. Wanted to spend time with her outside of the bedroom. He was falling for her and enjoying every minute. Until he meets her ex-boyfriend Aiden. It was when talking to Aiden that he realizes he doesn't really know Josie and thinks that maybe he isn't good enough for her. Cannot see that he has anything to offer her. I mean she is a brilliant doctor and he just plays hockey. Will she be satisfied with him? Is he enough? Will she get tired of him and move on to someone else? There is a saying opposites attract and these two definitely have sparks and chemistry. Maybe this saying can apply to them. Reed was a story without the usual jealousy bull. Josie and Reed were always honest with each other. The relationship went from neighbor to friend to lover. It was an enjoyable journey. It had it all: sex, laughter, romance. Another Cold Fury winner.

Reed is the 10th book in the Cold Fury Hockey series. This book can be read as a standalone, but IMO is better read in order. I blew right through this book, couldn't put it down, loved it!! The books in this series just keep getting better and better. I absolutely loved Reed and Josie. I'm not giving any spoilers away, but I couldn't stop laughing when they met! It was hilarious!!!! I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the chemistry between the characters. If you like hot and steamy, this book will not disappoint, not only that you get the just the right amount of humor, romance, strife with just a pinch of drama. This book takes off from the beginning and doesn't stop, like a rollercoaster when it's done, you aren't ready and you feel off kilter. I loved seeing a strong female, who is a professional (emergency room doctor), not struggling, didn't need someone to be in her life, but wanted it instead. I enjoyed the glimpse given into what will come in book 11, Marek. I really enjoy getting to see how other characters are doing and their significant others. My only gripe is I wanted more at the end, a little epilogue or something. I know I will read about the characters in other books, but I like that little bit extra. Definitely wasn't ready for the book to end when it did. Overall the book is awesome, the stories truly do keep getting better. I hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!
Well we are back with the Cold Fury Hockey players. Reed is the 10th book in this series and I have to say it felt different from the other books in this series. I think what made it different is because the timeframe is during the off season for hockey. So there really wasn’t a lot of hockey references.
I also felt like this book had a little bit of a role reversal. I really liked Reed, I thought he was sweet, funny and sexy but I also got that he felt more of the heroine role in this story and Josie was the strong, independent one and was the one to talk Reed down off the ledge so to say. You get it more once you read this story.
With saying that, I still really enjoyed this story. I thought it was a great addition to this series. I did love how Sawyer took Reed and Josie and made them friends first and built the relationship that way and then turned it into something more. It shows people how a great relationship starts with a strong foundation of friendship.
This story is a complete standalone novel told in Dual POV. We do see some past and future characters in this story. But it is NOT necessary to read the previous books in this series. I would suggest it because I think this is one of the better sports series out there and you want to meet all the men of the Cold Fury, but you don’t have to.
In this story we follow Reed and Josie who are next door neighbors. To say their first meeting is unconventional is an understatement. They meet when Josie is banging on Reed’s door to tell him to keep down the noise. (his headboard is banging against the wall) I loved how strong and to the point Josie is throughout this whole story. Reed is your typical “player” and has a revolving door of “barbies” (Josie’s word) and you can see he has a type when it comes to the women he hooks up with. Josie being the complete opposite of that…. Reed finds her intriguing. So he pursues a friendship with her. As time rolls on, they both feel more towards each other, but are afraid to take that next step. Will they cross that line?? What happens when Josie’s past comes back to haunt her?? Can Josie and Reed get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
I will say the one thing I didn’t like about this story was the ending. I thought it was too abrupt. I wanted an epilogue for their story. Hopefully we will get more in Marek’s story and get more of a finished story between Reed and Josie. I will say I liked how she set up Marek’s story that comes next. From what I have read of Marek…I’m not sure how to feel about him. His story is going to be interesting….I think!!!!
So if you have or you haven’t read any of this series, you don’t want to miss Reed!!! I thought this was an enjoyable easy and sexy read that many will enjoy. There isn’t a whole lot of drama in this story either.
I was very surprised with the level of maturity that Reed has in this story. It felt refreshing to see the player non committed guy have that attitude and willingness to try something different. Granted with a bit of struggle because he is out of his comfort zone, but it is great how his relationship with Josie falls so naturally into place. It becomes a friendship first and even a bump in the road like the return of an ex, helps along the way. Who would have though that said ex would be so vital and have so much insight? That also made it refreshing. And I really loved Reed's patience and easy going attitude. You need to read it.
I love a good story about a raunchy player neighbor and the woman next door who brings him to his knees. Reed meets Josie when his sex-capades keeps her awake after a long shift as an ER doctor. She brazenly bangs on his door and a friendship between the two starts almost immediately.
The strength of this story is that friendship. While the attraction between these two was there from the start it was the foundation they built as friends that made the move to lovers all the more exciting. It’s the kind of story that gives you tingles of excitement when they get that first kiss. The kind of story where the pages burn with passion when those kisses become more passionate. And the kind of story that stays in your heart when all the pieces come together and something magical happens.
Reed has quickly become one of my favorite books in the series. If you are a longtime lover of the Cold Fury boys like me then you don’t want to miss this one and I guarantee that if you are grabbing this one as a standalone it will make you want to jump in feet first to the entire series.

This is the 10th book in the Cold Fury series. There have been good and better books, but overall, great hockey club and great writing by this author. This one is about Reed. The Cold Fury have just won the cup and he is gearing up for a summer off with as much meaningless sex as he can muster. During one of his late night headboard banging sessions, his neighbor comes over to say she is not impressed. However, Reed is intrigued with her.
Josie is a busy ER doctor. She has no time for any social life. Although she is not like his "barbies", Reed works his way in under her skin and becomes one of her close friends. And then there becomes more. Both Reed and Josie are out of their elements with this new twist in their friendship.
This book is not a hockey book but it is so much more! Classic Sawyer Bennett writing. As much as I love sports romance, I am so very ok with the way this book played out. Hockey is int he background and spurs some of Reed's actions but it is really a great love story. Wonderful humor and sensitive romantic moments. Loved it all the way around!
I always want to read more from this author. Great twist in the story for Reed's friend Marek--Can't wait for his story!
Reed is the 10th book in The Cold Fury Series by Sawyer Bennett and I loved it. The book can be read as a stand-a-lone. This is the story of Reed, an NHL hockey player and his neighbor Josie, an ER doctor.
Reed has just won the Stanley cup and has been “burning his way through the hot women in Raleigh” who all look like Barbie. This is amusing to Josie and at the same time his new neighbor intrigues Reed.
They begin to hang out and one thing leads to another. I think of all the Cold Fury men, Reed is the sweetest and Josie is a smart, beautiful woman. I liked that her ex was not conniving. Loved the banter between the two and this was a cute, no drama story.
We get a glimpse of Marek’s story, which is next and there appears to be quite a bit of drama coming our way. Can’t wait for book 11 in the series.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Reed was possibly the best of the Cold Fury Hockey stories... I just loved his and Josie's relationship, how they were friends first, and then wanted more.
Loved it from cover to cover! Likeable characters and story! One of the best of this series for sure!
Well. My love of the Cold Fury Boys is no secret, and contrary to the book’s blurb, Reed Olsen is, in my eyes the sweetest and most understanding of any of the Cold Fury guys. So, yes, at first glance he appears to be a typical manwhore with no feelings, he has no scruples when it comes to his never ending line of willing ‘blonde Barbies’ and following the teams Stanley Cup win he needs to unwind, that’s what he intends to do during his off time. What he didn’t count on, was his dark haired sexy little neighbour entering his life and turning it upside down. Josie Ives is an ER doctor working shifts who needs her sleep, so when she knocks on her neighbours door to complain about his bedroom activities she isn’t expecting it to be the start of one of the best friendships she’s ever had. Wonderful writing, both Reed and Josie work so well together and the chemistry between them is, as with all Sawyer Bennett’s main characters, super charged. This is primarily an easy going love story, cute and funny, with minimal stress, some emotion, and lots of feel good vibes. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.
Oh, how I LOVE Reed. He's right up there with my favorite Cold Fury guy, Ryker. He's so sweet, sexy, and wonderful! Josie held her own with him, and is just what he needs! A great addition to one of my favorite series!
Reed and Josie are by far my favorite in the cold fury family so far......I loved their story......this book was such a fast read it made me wait to read it all over again just so I could keep Reed and Josie in my life. Reed is a fun loving goof ball that doesn't mind showing his sensitive side for Josie. Josie is a Dr. that likes to plan and do puzzles. Reed shows her that being spontaneous is great. The picnic under the stars to watch the meteor shower was by far the best date ever!!
