This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Miranda and Luke. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

You know how picking up a "new to me" author's book can sometimes be scary? Well, I'm so glad I picked up with Come Home with Me by Susan Fox. Luke and Miranda are destined to be together. Both broken in their own ways but their road to redemption is paved on the same path. Miranda has no faith that she's good enough for anyone in her life and she protects her heart with and iron fence. Luke is just the one to break it down!

If you love a great redemption story with adorable kids and dog I highly recommend this story! This may have been my first Susan Fox book but it won't be my last!

Susan Fox's Come Home with Me was the perfect rainy day read. It was sexy, sweet, and humorous! The trifecta!

Two characters, both single parents resulting from very different situations. While they're both trying to get their life together and doing the best they can for their children, love has a way of bringing the perfect people into their lives.
Don't get me wrong, there were times I wanted to strangle Miranda, but this is one love story you won't forget!

Miranda Gabriel has returned home to Blue Moon Harbor after hitting rock bottom, but she's determined to get her life back on track. Her priority is her two-year-old daughter and doing online classes to earn her degree, yet there's no denying her attraction to Luke Chandler. However, the more time she spends with Luke, the more she finds herself falling for him. Will she be able to get over her insecurities, or will she lose her chance at happy ever after?

The first book of this series features Miranda's brother, and so I was looking forward to getting to know more about the heroine after meeting her in that first book, and I've got to say that I'm so glad she got her own happy ever after. Because she definitely deserves it after everything she's been through with a mother that couldn't clean up her act; grandparents that couldn't care less about their grandchildren; and then falling in love with Mr. Wrong over and over again. Has she finally found her Mr. Right in Luke?

As for the dialogue, it was captivating and fascinating due to the main characters back stories, as Miranda hasn't had the easiest life and it's about time she finally gets her life back on track, even if she does need help from the secondary characters in order to do so. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine met that had me really enjoying this story, as there's instant chemistry, and certainly, both have reasons to want to keep their relationship as friends for a while. However, in saying that, I liked that they took a chance on each other and overcame one of their toughest obstacles. Will Miranda be able to win over Luke's parents and his in-laws, considering Luke's mom knew what Miranda was like when she was younger? A time when she was a rebel and couldn't help acting out and doing things to prove she was strong, so she wouldn't turn out like her mother to deal with the challenges life threw at her.

While the hero, I really felt for him because his sons never got to know their mother and being a father to twin boys isn't easy. Luckily, he has family that are there for him. Moreover, there was so much to like about Luke in that he's kind, caring and will jump into action whenever someone has an emergency to do with his job. I also liked how determined he was to win over Miranda, even when old insecurities rear their ugly head and have the heroine running scared. Will he be able to prove to Miranda that he loves her no matter what? Will the heroine be able to believe in Luke's love for her?

Overall, Ms. Fox has delivered another wonderful read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance was charming and made me think that Miranda was one lucky woman to have the attention of Luke; and the ending had me glad these two were willing to fight for their future together, as they've both been through a lot and deserve their chance at happy ever after. I would recommend Come Home with Me by Susan Fox, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, small town romances, or books by authors Roxanne St. Claire, Catherine Anderson, Jenn McKinlay and Barbara Freethy.

Luke Chandler is Destiny Island's local veterinarian. Her is a widower with twin boys. His wife died in childbirth and he has been hesitant to open his heart to anyone else again.

Miranda Gabriel has had a hard life. Her mother was a drug addict and prostitute and it if t hadn't been for her brother, Aaron, she wouldn't have survived. She always seemed to choose the wrong men to bring in her life. But, now she has a daughter, Ariana, and she has to be more cautious with her heart. She believed in true love. She had just never found it for herself.

Miranda knew Luke from high school. He was always a good person. She had been the Goth girl in high school and had dropped out of school and run away to Vancouver. Now, she was back on Destiny Island because she had needed help from her brother. She felt pathetic and undeserving of love. But, as she and Luke began a friendship and then something more, could she hope for a happy ever after?

I liked this story but was turned off by the descriptive sex scenes. There were a couple of f-bombs, too, that were unnecessary. Unfortunately, because of this purpose I wouldn't recommend the book to my friends.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Miranda returned to her hometown even against her will to try to give a better life to her daughter and to live with her brother .Now he is getting married, she think that must find a place to live. Her sister-in-law's family provides a place for her. The affection that she and her brother have never had from their relatives, they find in this family, but Miranda is very hurt and can not imagine being accepted as an integral and beloved part. Everything complicates even more when Luke, a widower with two children and her highschool schoolmate begins to take an interest in her.
Miranda has serious self esteem problems, always thinking that her past makes her someone that no one wants close, however Luke can gradually reach her heart and their relationship ends up leaving her more insecure because his dead wife was the type of girl ideal and with a loving family that still shares in Luke's life.

The story is very fluid bringing a message of struggle for what wanted, self acceptance and mainly to see that even with defects we can be loved.
I liked it a lot and enjoyed the light plot full of sensual moments between the couple and very interesting with the interaction between families.
It only had one detail that did not please me in the story that was the interaction of Miranda and Luke’s brother.

For me, what could have been a touching love story about growth, self-worth and second chances, was tainted by over the top graphic sexual descriptions. I appreciated the setting and the characters, but I couldn't fully appreciate the book because of the coarseness.

While this is book 2 in the series, you really don't need to have read the first book to enjoy this one! Miranda and Luke were so different that you are not sure that they are going to make it at first. I did find it hard to like Miranda at first but as she matured and grew during the book, she became much more like-able and I could relate to her more than at the beginning of the book.

How could she think that Luke was too good and not her type of guy! He seemed like the perfect boyfriend material and he also loved children and pets.

Miranda's concept of a relationship changed when she started dating Luke and I loved that she wanted to take the time to get to know him and be his friend first. Theirs was not an instant connection for a blended family and it was great to watch as the kids grew to like each other.

After meeting Iris and Justin, I really want to read the next book in the series - they are another couple that just don't seem to "fit" and it will be interesting to read their story.

Susan Fox’s Come Home with Me grabbed me from the beginning so that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. The themes of family, especially parent and child relationships are at the heart of the story along with the second chance at romantic love for a father, Luke Chandler and a mother, Miranda Gabriel.

Vivid descriptions bring Blue Moon Harbor to life as Miranda finds her way home in the mist of the wreckage that her life has become. A master story teller, Ms. Fox gives the reader insight and empathy into Miranda, making us root for her to succeed, not just for her sake but for her daughter’s too. Heartfelt and inspiration for anyone who has seen hard times. Also for those who lives has been much easier.

I read Aaron and Eden’s story and was so ready to read Miranda’s. I had to know about her and her life. And I’m glad I read it!

Miranda and Luke balance each other out perfectly! Miranda was all goth girl who falls for the bad boys and Luke is the golden boy. Miranda knows that Luke isn’t her typical bad boy and she doesn’t want to tarnish him, his reputation and his twin sons with her image. Luke knows once upon a time that Miranda was a bad girl but now she’s a single mom, doing everything she can to give her little girl a better life.

They are so sweet together and are the perfect couple!! Plus Luke is a Vet so I’m all about the animal doctors 😊

This was a wonderful heartwarming story packed full of emotion. It's beautifully written and I loved how the relationship between Luke and Miranda was a nice slow build. These two both have baggage. Miranda has returned to Blue Moon after vowing she'd never return. She has more to think of than herself though. Being a single mom means you do what you have to do. Luke has always loved Blue Moon and he returned after University to take over as the local veterinarian and raise his young family. After tragedy struck and he lost his young wife he never thought he'd find love again. Until Miranda. Will he be able to open his heart and will she be willing to take a chance? This is the story of their journey as they deal with the past in order to look to the future. Definitely a book I would recommend to everyone.

Come Home with Me by Susan Fox
Blue Moon Harbor #2

Not sure how I feel about this book. It definitely is not my usual go-to type of story but instead a more long and drawn out romance with the couple trying friendship and family dates with children before committing to actually “dating”. Both do communicate fairly openly and grow the relationship in the right way and this is something rather new and different for Miranda who has always jumped into a relationship with both feet and not much talking at all. Luke, on the other hand, met his true love early in life and never took his eyes from the prize and was rather devastated when she died too young.

Miranda Gabriel was a woman I had trouble relating to. I know she came by her low self-esteem as the outcome of her fractured family life but she was so very leery of relationships with anyone except her brother that at times it wore on me. How she could be strong in some ways and not so much in others was a bit of a mystery. She was always putting herself down, not thinking she was good enough, etc… And Luke, well he was warm and caring and came from a much different background than Miranda’s. I think that in some ways his interest in Miranda had more to do with his need to heal than a true soul connection. I guess I didn’t see what the two truly had in common but was glad they found one another and do hope they will be happy together. Perhaps I will learn more about how they grow together as the series progresses.

That said, I would like to read book three that is about Shy Iris and Musician Julian…that might be as hard to understand as this book, though. In addition to that love story I am curious about “Creepy Bart” the real estate salesman…is he a pedophile or sleaze of another sort? And, the murder mentioned…will that play a part in future books? And…will Glory get her partner to propose? Many questions…not answered…perhaps in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books-Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review.

3-4 Stars

I received an ARC from Netgalley. While it would seem this book would have an interesting storyline I just didn’t feel the main connection between the two main characters.

There is hope in every bad choice and humor in every mistake. Come Home With Me has the wisdom to speak to ingrained common sense, but the forethought to reach the heart. Deemed the "Wild Child" of Blue Moon Harbor, Miranda was determined to prove everyone wrong. She quickly realized you can take the girl out of the harbor, but you can't take the spirit out of the girl. A few years and a couple missteps later brings an heartbroken and experienced woman back to the place that started it all. Now with a greater sense of responsibility and the love of a precocious little girl, the feisty young girl has become a determined young woman. Will the girl who never learned to trust take the most important risk of her life? Falling in love? Susan Fox has been a favorite author of mine for years. Her to blind realistic with fantasy and create modern day romance makes for a magical experience.

I really enjoyed this read. This reminded me of a Robyn Carr romance, although Miranda was a bit too self-destructive for my taste at times. Much like Carr, Fox takes her time with the story. It doesn’t drag, ever. Rather, she let’s you meet and then settle-in with the characters. I really appreciated this. There are a lot of insta-love romances out there, something that is pretty rare, especially with characters as different as these two. If you stick with this one, I think you’ll be pleased.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the first novel I have read by Ms. McKinlay, and it certainly won’t be the last. There is a lot of humor, friends, small town fun and a very sexy romance, not to mention an awesome dog and cat.

Zach Caine is the owner of Bluff Point Brewery in Bluff Point, Maine. Owning a brewery has blessed him with friends and coworkers that like to party together. They know him as a happy go lucky guy, who gives commitment a wide berth. He has a dog Rufus, a big lovable poodle who is his constant companion.

His next door neighbor Jessie Connolly is the manager of his friends veterinarian office and a single mom of two adorable girls, Maddie and Gracie. He becomes their hero when he rescues their kitten, Chaos, off his roof, and takes a scary plunge into the snow....but Chaos was fine. The kids adore him, now if he could just get Jessie on his side. A blizzard hits Bluff Point and Zach worries about Jessie and her girls when the power goes out, and he and Rufus head to the rescue. What follows is days of playing in snow, lots of hot chocolate and sleeping by the fire. But the logs aren’t the only thing on fire! Jessie is getting over a nasty divorce, and doesn’t want her kids hurt again by someone walking away. Zach has no intention of walking away...but he can’t seem to convince Jessie. Maddie and Gracie take things in their own hands to solve this dilemma.

I loved this contemporary romance, the light hearted banter, and all the characters, including the pets. Just what you need to read when your looking for some sizzles and laughs.

I obtained this book from the publisher and Netgalley for review.

Overall a good story. On the one hand, there is single mom Miranda, and on the other there is widower Luke, with two young boys. A Brady bunch in the making. I liked the story and it kept my interest for the most part, but the references to a mystery threw me a bit (hadn't read previous story in series) and the insecurities got a little tiresome. More details at the end helped with this, and was appreciated. Would highly recommend this book, but encourage reading her brother's story first.
