This book is a good fit for readers looking for a lighthearted and fast-paced romance between two strong-willed professionals who must navigate their attraction while competing against each other for a lucrative contract.
A fun story of two rivals that are as different as night and day, William and Poppy are both trying to land a contract for their ad agency. Their names are fitting as William is as rigid as his name implies, while Poppy is his total opposite. A great read for an afternoon, it is a feel good story that is lighthearted and entertaining. With very little conflict in the story, I felt it was more of a YA story. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "The Billionaire's Sexy Rival". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4 Stars!
It was an ok read. The rivalry between two CEO’s of ad agency’s leads to them working together on a specific project. I didn’t get much sense of what drives either of them. They have different views of how to run their respective companies that lead to some charged arguments. Best way to bow off steam, kiss it out.
There was low drama and the arguments were over pretty quickly. Overall the story was just too quick for me to make a connection.
In the 3rd installment of the Jameson Brothers series, it's the eldest brother, William Jameson's turn to meet his match.
As the Jameson Ad Agency are loosing clients to the Wildflower Agency, William makes it his mission to stop it. But when William and Poppy meet, it's a different kind of pitch meeting for their companies. and with the two assigned to work together on an account, sparks starts to fly, although they do try to deny it.
With two CEOs, who wants their company to come out on top, they will have a lot to figure out, some mistakes to make and a bit of groveling to do.
This book is a funny, fast passing and emotionally thrilling romance, that will give you some laughs, have you cheering and fully engaged in the story.

I liked that this book was a quick yet sexy, lighthearted read. Poppy really annoyed me for some reason. It was frustrating. William on the other hand, just sounded so sexy! I’m glad there was a happy ending of future collaborations.
I liked the concept of this book but felt that because the book was so short the author didn't do it justice. There was not enough build up for me, one minute they are rivals and the next they were in love. I wasn't invested in either character at all. Additionally, the language was far too flowery for my taste in places.
William commanded his families ad agency wth an iron fist. There was no challenge he would not accept and facing down his rival was just the beginning. Poppy was a bitter thorn in his side and he was anxious to win. She provided the perfect balance in his life. They complimented each other remarkably in all areas and their ideas thrived together. But is that enough when he is so used to ruling everything and letting all other things slide away until he get what he wants? Will they continue to be rivals or work together? Absolutely a great series!
I am typically not a huge fan of Billionaire trope- but this was Leslie North so I had to try and I enjoyed it immensely! A quick fun jaunt!
This is a fun, fast passed and emotionally thrilling romantic journey that will have you laughing, cheering and fully engaged in the outcome. Perfect late night reading.
William Jameson is the CEO of Jameson Advertising and is used to being in charge in everything. Then comes along Poppy Hanniford, CEO of the Wildflower Agency, and he is fascinated by this unique, colorful and sexy rival that has taken two accounts right out from under him. Determined not to loose a third he personally handles a pitch for a Romance publishing company against Poppy. Loved the dynamic between these completely opposite CEO's and how brilliantly they work together.
The Billionaire's Sexy Rival is a fun, sexy romance with hints of both intentional and unintentional humor.
This was fine. The main plot line is different from the usual billionaire stories and it's evident how much effort is taken to give this a non-cliche premise. This is the third installment in the Jameson Brothers' series but I found this novel sufficient as a stand-alone. The concept of an ad agency and how a project weaves the check-posts for William and Poppy's romantic journey is interesting and I liked the scenes where both the main characters were firm on thier decisions, trying their best to be the right one of the two. It added the hilarity occurrences, whether it was meant to for that purpose or not, I can't tell.
The characters were too stereotypical for my liking; I was expecting a billionaire who's grounded and not so stern about anything, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting for such a character. The chemistry between the two was actually good, for one who was stubborn man and the other a perfect woman. Though both weren't compatible, they did understand how to get there and worked their way up. The exciting scenes were okay but most of the time they were an interruption to a good scene and just jarred me out of the story. Having said that, I liked the pacing of the story; despite being a novella, it did well to end the story (or the series for that matter) with a good enough conclusion.
I would recommend this to those looking for a short, predictable billionaire romance with characters that have a good chemistry.
I'm giving this book a 3/5 Stars. This was a cute story between Poppy and William. I definitely felt the chemistry between them and I liked the characters. Poppy was warm and had some fire to her. William was a little rough around the edges but it worked with his character. However I had a few problems with this book. We didn't get any back story on the characters at all. I felt like I really didn't know these characters besides what they did for a living. The characters didn't have any conversations that didn't pertain to their jobs. I questioned how much they really knew about each other. I also needed a bit more rivalry between the businesses. We really didn't get to see what makes both companies the best. It missed the tension that most hate to love romances usually have. The story just needed to be fleshed out more. Overall cute story but lacking in a few areas.
This book had it all. Enjoyed it from the start. Hotness and all. Go get it.
This book is the third and last in the Jameson Brothers series, though I haven't read the others, and I think it worked perfectly fine as a stand-alone. The series is based around three brothers who work at the family ad agency, with William, the eldest, as CEO.
In general, I liked Poppy. She's brave, fearless and excellent at her job. However, I don't feel like I got a good sense of Poppy herself or what motivates her. What I did get was that Poppy is very supportive of others. She excels at "plussing:" basically, taking a design and adding a certain something to make it better, like using violet eye shadow to add highlights to a printed presentation! William felt more well drawn out, though most of it involved his thoughts about Poppy. William is, basically, a control-freak skeptic who's constantly trying to figure out everyone's angle. He's also 100% focused on his company - at once point he equates his family and the company as one and the same.
“There was no way he was going to let her call the shots. He was going to have his way, and he was going to prove that his methods were the right way to win.”
Now, of course, since this is a romance novel, William's alpha-ness is eventually modulated by Poppy, and Poppy... well, I'm not quite sure what Poppy gets out of relationship. Poppy says it's his perspective and experience, but I'm not sure that was reflected in the book, as the only time he helps Poppy out it doesn't turn out well.
Since the project is for a romance publisher, there's some particularly funny bantering about various romance novel couples that I loved. It also includes what I thought for certain would be an oxymoron - a romantic powerpoint presentation!
As for other cons, I thought the team building scene was odd and unnecessary. I'm not sure what the purpose was for the plot, and without getting into spoilers, I thought the added "excitement" didn't fit in well with the rest of the book and really jarred me out of the story.
Overall, this is a fun and sexy novella. I do wish it was longer, as I think that'd taken care of some of my quibbles. I'll be looking up the first two books in the series for sure!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.
The Billionaire’s Sexy Rival brings the Jameson Brothers series to its conclusion. It’s been an amazing ride with these brothers and their ladies Yet watch for Poppy and William to ratchet up the heat a bit in business and in romance.
Recently William’s ad agency has been losing out on clients that they probably felt they had completely in the bag, until a rival agency came along and snatched those clients away. Now William has decided that the next client presentation will be handled by him. He’s the head of the company, his leadership and determination has driven this company and if there is anyone going down in flames this time it’s not going to be his agency. Well… life and business doesn’t always turn out exactly the way we expect. His rival turns out to be just as good at what she does as he is in what he does. With an unusual client request standing between them both Poppy and William have to learn how to “play nice” …for a bit at least. Neither one expected the sparks that flew between them personally or the choices they would have to eventually make. Love or business. Winning isn’t everything if you lose the most important thing in the victory. That’s a lesson they’re going to have to face – and make a choice on.
William and Poppy fire up the pages with their personality and chemistry. I liked these two individually and together. Both strong, smart, sexy, determined and not used to losing. Their story captured me from the start and never let go. I enjoyed my time in their world very much. And even though this one brings the series to an end, what an ending it was. If you love strong characters and explosive chemistry then you’ll adore Poppy and William’s adventure. Indulge yourself and enjoy.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Another Jameson Brother meets his fate with William and Poppy who are competitors in their field. Good characters and story line as these two work toward their future.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Leslie North is my all time favourite author and I just love her books. Your always guaranteed such fantastic, brilliant, amazing and wonderful stories from her. Never read a book I’ve not liked which I’m itself is truly amazing. This book has everything I love in a Leslie North book. Hot alpha male, strong heroine ( the only one who can handle the hot alpha male), a fantastic storyline and sizzling and steamy and hot chemistry that will set you your kindle on fire. Couldn’t recommend a better author or books than Leslie North’s. Just epic and phenomenal rolled into one!
Surprisingly, I love this last last book more than the others. William and Poppy are rivals in Advertising Industry. And since William already lost clients to Poppy, he personally holds their next presentation to a client instead of delegating it to any of his employees. But he wasn’t expecting to be captured by his rival’s not just beauty but personality. The story was so well-written, it seems so real. Even the characters acted as real people would, well except one time. Which is the reason why I cut half star in the rating. I was baffled when they kissed on that first meeting with the writers when they shouldn’t have. 🙂 But anyway, overall this final book in the series is a good ending and a great story. The Romance was even better than the previous books. And the attraction between Poppy and William are just so good. 🙂
William Jameson is the head of a top ad agency. Poppy Hanniford is the head of an ad agency which is giving William way too much competition. They find they are to work together for a romance publisher. Together they can come up with some out of the box type of advertising that the company is really liking. Sometimes William has a problem with working as a partner rather than a boss. Will this come back to bite him?
This is Poppy and William ‘s story. They ran rival advertising agencies. They were vying for the same client. The client told them they had to work together. Can they work together on a project or in life. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
