Is rest as important as exercise? The author claims it is and backs up his argument with data and example. A good read for athletes and for those interested in the science of fitness.

When the book summary starts with "How can you optimize your performance through recovery training?" one expects a book focused on exercise and training. However, this book is more focused on overall health and living based on determining what makes you tired and how to address that. A great idea and book, but not really what I was expecting to read.

Mr. Geys first outlines the various forms of fatigue, how to identify them, and how to treat them through nutrition, sleep, and exercise, etc. This information is organized by treatment instead of type of fatigue making the book a bit confusing once you have identified your own form of fatigue. However, since much of the information Mr. Geys includes is applicable across the fatigues, breaking down the information by fatigue would either be less informative or duplicate a lot of information.

For less than 200 pages, this book imparts massive amounts of information. It is a bit overwhelming. Mr. Geys tries to combat this overload with a recap at the end of the each. However, I would definitely suggest approaching this book with a highlighter pen and a set of tabs.

Very informative, I enjoyed this book. Lots of explanations on why your energy levels are as they are and what to do about it. I particularly enjoyed the chapter about sleep as it explained a few things I am experiencing.
