If only all cross-stitch books were this easy to read! The patterns were done so well ands illustrated perfectly. Each one was adorable and I really enjoyed their layout in the book. This is one that I'll have to purchase for myself once it's released since I loved every pattern but especially those based on "Tortoise and the Hare."

I would like to thank the publisher, author, and Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is adorable!
I love the designs of almost all of these and I've bookmarked so many pages for future use! I really like the animal ones, especially The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, maybe because its one of my favourites... I don't know?
The instructions are very clear and easy to see and I really like the section at the end that helps you transform your projects into things more than just a cross stitch, like bookmarks and bunting etc. Its nice seeing the patterns in context and being shown how to recreate it yourself.

Love this!

Una meraviglia!
Fiabe, favole e filastrocche che rivivono in schemi da ricamo delicati e ironici.
L'unico difetto? Che non si sa davvero quale scegliere per iniziare. *__*

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the Publisher for this review copy, given in exchange for an honest review.

I have been known to do cross stitch, although it has been a while since I've done any. Reading through this book certainly gives me the inspiration to pick up my hoop and needle and start a new project. The book features so many pretty and intricate designs, there has to be something for everyone in there. There are designs from fables, fairy tales and nursery rhymes and are accompanied by clear colour charts and keys. There are also ideas for making projects at the back along with templates for these. The instructions are well written and make it simple, even for the beginners. Lovely book!

The designs in this book feel somewhat old fashioned, and kitsch, and that may not appeal to everyone. I personally like it, and found that I could isolate something cute, or interesting to stitch in nearly every project, even if I didn't like the overall project design. This is very thorough in its knowledge of fables and folk songs, and I had to look up some fables to remember them, while others like The Tortoise and the Hare immediately sprang to mind. These are not Disneyfied designs either, but pulled from an imagining of the original stories. Some Disney classics like Snow White, or the Little Mermaid show up, but they look like their fable versions (though I thought that Cinderella looked strangely like Disney's Belle). The last section of the book is devoted to French nursery or folk songs, which I have no knowledge of, but I enjoy expanding my French words and might try my hand at the counting sampler-esque song. I would try flipping through a preview or a few pages to see if this book matches your tastes, but if you enjoy fables and fairy tales, you may find something to work with here.

This cross stitch pattern book has so many colorful patterns and shows them used in many different projects. Then it also gives finishing tips to make the completed project once you've finished the cross stitch pattern.
