I love Silas! New book boyfriend material for sure!!! Clutch was sweet, sexy, and romantic! This was a real win for me! Recommened to those readers who enjoy contemparay romance.
Such a great story! A chance meeting brings Silas and Pansy together, even if she did almost run him over. Their lives are never the same. Working through their own issues, they learn that together they can get through anything. Silas' relationship with his parents will break your heart. Pansy will stand up to anyone and you will cheer her on every time. I loved reading this book!!
Easy and comforting read!
I really enjoyed this book and got totally invested in the story. I just had to keep reading until I finished it. My first book I read by S M West but wont be the last.
A chance encounter changes Pansy and Silas. They need each other without knowing it. Clutch is a must read!
Pansy is trying to find herself. She is somewhat of a ditz. Silas is a rock star, but is tired of living the rock star life. In some ways, they are both looking for something else in life. Silas and Pansy meet by accident...could it be that fate is drawing them together? Will they find their happily ever after in each other? Read this book and find out. This is a twist from your normal rock star romance book. You will love it!

I'm done. I can't do this.
Pathetic, spineless "heroine" meets verbally abusive asshat hero. Not exactlly my preferred relationship dynamic.
No rating for obvious reasons.
Clutch follows the fascinating and swoon worthy story of Silas and Pansy, whose paths intertwine in a very unconventional and unexpected way. He's a notorious rock star and heartthrob, whose tired of his lifestyle and wants out of the band that made he famous. And she's a wild, untamed soul who's in constant search of her own destiny, even though her family openly disapproves of her impulsive ways. Their meeting was spontaneous and marked the beginning of their beautiful and bumpy relationship.
I loved Silas and found him to be very charming, as a main character. Even though he let his anger control him at times, he acknowledges his mistakes and apologizes for them as soon as they happen. Which isn't a trait you'd expect from anyone, much less a famous super star who's used to getting everything he asks for. He has his flaws, that's for sure but, that's what makes him even more relatable than he started out to be. Also, the vulnerability he displayed when he was with Pansy made me swoon and restored my faith in love altogether. Completely impossible to resist, in other words.
Pansy was such a unique and feisty character, I fell in love with her unconventional ways from the moment I started reading Clutch. She doesn't go by the rules and obviously refuses to conform to society's portrayal of how life should be lived. She's never afraid to stand up for her self and what she believes in, which makes her one of the most honest and blunt heroines I've read about in a while, when it comes to novels of the New Adult Genre. You cannot help but envy her soul searching journey, wishing upon a thousand stars that, you had the guts to pursue it yourself. This need to get away from the things that made me unhappy grew withing me after every chapter of this book and I couldn't have been happier for Pansy and the fact that, she was such a rebel in her own way and only settled for the things that truly mattered!
They're both determined to make things work and go through thick and thin to ensure each other's happiness! Pansy's determination to find her happy beginning was truly refreshing and going along for the journey was more than enjoyable! Also, I felt like the author gave a different insight to life than what we're usually used to in Romance Novels, which I was all in for because there are times when I don't know where my life is going either. And it's completely normal, by the way. It shouldn't scare you nor be the excuse people need to criticize and shame you. So, it was nice to relate to a main character on such a level and see my thoughts and uncertainty reflected in her words. It was a perfect representation of reality itself and how sometimes, we all struggle with finding our path in life, even if we're actual adults. I'm always going to be a child inside my head people, just a side note.
The secondary characters were a nice addition to the story and I get really excited with the prospect of more books being written about them. I have no idea if that's going to happen, by the way. Just throwing it out there. Moreover, the writing was great and the story itself was fast paced without feeling rushed whatsoever. Which is always the perfect combination for me, as a reader. The ending came quicker than I was expecting but, it was still satisfying and I got all sorts of fuzzy feelings inside my little romantic heart with the way the author decided to wrap things up!
Overall, if you enjoy hopelessly romantic stories about characters that are the complete opposite of each other, I suggest you pick up Clutch immediately! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it pleasantly surprised me with its character development and the way it progressed. There weren't any plot twists but, it managed to grab my attention from the very first chapter. I could not stop reading it and finished it in like, a day! Highly recommend!
Amazing book. The story was enjoyable from the first chapter. I loved the relationship between Silas and Pansy. Their meeting and their personalities where so amazing and fun to read about. Pansy leaves home and she ends up meeting Silas, after that nothing will be the same. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.
A girl runs over a guy....no, that's not how the story goes.
A girl walks up to a rock star...no, still not right.
A girl takes a chance with a guy that screams "heartbreak". She takes a chance and it is life changing for both of them.
This sweet story about a woman lost without a direction for her life. She finds a less than desirable jerk who just happens to be ridiculously hot. The self exploration brought on by their new friendship changes everything.
Really enjoyed this! Its more than a light, fun romantic rock star. Shit happens, that's life, but there are some real struggles, and you feel for both Pansy and Silas as they battle their own personal demons and struggles. I am so thrilled that this had depth and we had the opportunity to invest in both of them. Romance, check and some detailed hot and sweaty sex. A great read.
Pansy and Silas are both on a crossroads in life. Silas wants to quit the band that made him famous and Pansy is looking for a purpose in life and wants to be treated differently by her sisters. Family issues play a big part in the story.
After a meet cute they have a sweet, growing relationship.
Th writing is very good and it pulled me in. I really liked the story until near the end. Some things are revealed I deemed a bit unneccessary for the story and too contrived. Pansy was quite immature for a 27 year old and at the end she is still floundering in my opinion. The reasons Silas had issues did not convince me and I thought him quite weak at several occasions. In the end nothing was really resolved.
It is obvious there will be more books in this series, because the epilogue stayed vague about certain characters. But none of the other characters was interesting enough for me to be on the lookout for some sequel.
3,5 stars for me.
A sweet romance that makes you believe that your life can take a turn for the best when it feels like you're down and out.
Pansy is the youngest sister who is known to leap before looking. Her eldest sister, Ivy, is the composed one who always spares no thought in reminding Pansy of her folly. This strains their relationship and Pansy takes off where she offers a hitch-hiker a lift, but he's not your ordinary guy, he's Silas, the lead singer of the rock band, Trojan.
Their story is told in a steady pace and though Silas' band mates do fit the stereotype of rockers, there's more to their ambition and introducing Pansy into his world provides him with the clarity he's always needed.
I did take an interest in the supporting characters in this book especially Jorge and Lucia, their presence in Silas' life gave this story the hopeful feeling. I wonder what turn the story would have taken if they had not been introduced.
On the other hand, it dawned on me that Ivy did not get much of a spotlight and I feel as though there's a story to her, something so deep that made her push her sisters to achieve, and then made her lash out at them when they failed to. I received an arc from NetGalley, but honestly speaking, my interest in Ivy's life far outweighs the sweet story of Pansy.
