This episode focuses on Hyrum, a young boy who knows everything about nature. We got to know his past and follow him in the present day when everybody in Inez’s group is still trying to decide what to do with Jing-Wei.
I love Hyrum as a character and, of all of them, he’s the one I can relate to the most.
I also enjoyed this episode because we got to know a bit more about the Earth the teenagers are living in and what they must do next.
Sorry but I couldn't get into the book at all. I tried though, I'm so sorry for my ADD brain.
I don't care how, I want a pet dragon. Glad that the group has finally sorted out their differences and decided to let Jing-Wei and Sparky in.
This is the first episode where we get Hyrum's POV. I love that we are finally getting other character's POV. I think it's a nice touch to see through their eyes now and learn more about them. Again in true ReMade fashion, we are left with more questions then answers. It's what keeps the readers coming back.
Will go live on my blog: 1/4/2018

Hyrum is one of my favorite characters in this series so it was great to learn more about him. And heart breaking! I like how he seems to be the heart of the group, yet he still trying to figure out things for himself since he's so young. I just really liked it. 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the first episode we get from Hyrum’s POV. The bible thumpin youngest of the group who has been convinced they all died and are in the afterlife. That is, until Jing Wei comes back to life. Now he doesn’t know what to think, and none of his religious or Boy Scout training has the answers. All he really knows at this point is that he doesn’t like how Jing Wei is being treated. He doesn’t totally know for sure who or what she is, but knows that it isn’t right to let her potentially starve or freeze to death out on her own, with only Sparky keeping at her side. Inez has held very tight reigns on the group and doesn’t want Jing Wei to have any idea where their camp is, and isn’t really keen on having any of her group fraternize with her at all.
While getting glimpses of Hyrum’s backstory and eventual death, we also find out he had a pet dog who really was his best friend. The adjuncts nicely with what is happening in currents times. Which is he frees a baby Cumberbatch (dragon like creatures from season1) and ends up with not only a new pet, but a keen predator who is most definitely going to help keep the group fed.
Hyrum is becoming a very compelling character in his own right, and his confusing for him relationship with Alex is sure to add some serious internal conflicts for the kid who was raised Mormon in Utah. But more pressing is what he believes Sparky has been trying to tell Jing Wei. About why they’re here, and what they’re supposed to do. It looks like the kids are going to have an epic destiny on their hands.
