Really enjoyed this - it’s been on my TBR list for a long time but I should have read it sooner. Funny, touching, raw, emotional and that’s just Charlie’s relationship with Gary Barlow!!

Truth be told it’s a fun book with a deeper message but one that will particularly appeal to Take That fans (First or second time around).

5 lovely stars 🌟

I saw no purpose in this book although previous books were reviewed as y so humorous - I sure didn't see it. Not my cup of tea at all.

I received the e-book Millions Love Songs to read and review. This book was the first book I have read by the author Carole Matthews. You could tell this book was from a British stand point some of the slang was hard to know if you have not read anything like this before or weren't British. I would recommend putting some of the British terms in the beginning of this book in case you have other reads that read this that might not understand exactly what the terms are. This book flowed very well. The book had an interesting plot an few shocking things in it. But a great story that you are never to old to start over again. And that you can find true happiness.

This is a sweet summer read about a woman who was truly lost after her divorce and how she found her life and confidence back. I wish they had included more of the story of her self discovery in Paris and less about her best friend's obsession with Take That.

A fun British gal makes her way through a divorce and a new life with two different prospects in men she meets.

Review: I would like to thank Stephanie at Little, Brown Book Group for asking me to take part in the blog tour for Carole Matthews new book Million Love Songs. I was super excited to be asked. I am a massive fan of Carole Matthews and her books.

Million Love Songs is about Ruby Brown, a girl after my own heart, I love her. Caroline has created another very strong character in Ruby. The story is told through her eyes and follows her journey after she left her cheating husband. Two men appear in her life and as she makes choices to discover who she is, she finds both these men are very different.

I enjoyed reading about Ruby doing things out if her comfort. Especially, becoming a Take That mega fan! Now, who would I have as a cardboard cut out sitting in the corner of my bedroom watching over me, properly Chris Pratt, without a dinosaur chasing behind him. Carole's sense of humour runs throughout this book.

Million Love Songs is sure to be a hit this Spring!

Whilst I have many of this author's back catalogue to catch up on, I am always delighted to be able to read her latest novel.

And if you have just broken into a bit of Take That when you read the title, then trust me the book is for you! But even if you are ambivalent over Gary Barlow, et al this is still a wonderful story which tugs at the heart-strings and in fact made me cry!

Ruby is single again, divorced, new job, new place to live and she wants to embrace everything, she does not want to get involved with anyone and certainly not seriously.

Mason Soames is the boss where Ruby works and has a nickname worthy of any lothario. Ruby has been warned but there is something about him, which excites Ruby, which means she throws all caution and reason to the wind. Trouble is he seems to be missing something

Joe Edwards, is Ruby's initial scuba diving instructor (you have to read the book to see how she manages to get into that situation!) and he is everything that Mason is not, especially as he comes with two teenage children and an ex-wife.

Charlie is Ruby's friend and she is determined to make sure that Ruby makes the right choices for her future and that if all else fails there is always Gary Barlow to fall back on. The dream is always best, the reality no doubt would be disappointing.

Looking back now I have finished the book, a lot is packed into Ruby's life in these pages. She is trying to make her way as a new woman and she tries many things. Some not necessarily are her thing, but she embraces most of them with enthusiasm even if they are not to be repeated. Through all her ups and downs she relies on Charlie as her friend and Carole Matthews has a way of showing wonderfully strong female friendships within her novels.

Of course there is plenty of romance thrown in along with the laughs but as I approached the end of the book which I did not want to end, I was worried about Ruby and the choice she was going to make. I had a little cry at the one she did make, but I am not telling you if that was tears of joy or sorrow, you will have to read the book yourself to see. Whether she made the right one, no one knows as the characters can only live on in our imaginations unless the author decides to pick them up again.

A great book, which might have overdone the Take That/Gary Barlow obsession a bit too far for my liking, but was probably well researched and there is no doubt many fans out there who experience what Carole Matthews was showing us. Carole has an ability to tap into the moment, the time, the world which we see around us and present it in a such a lovely way, you can forget all the bad things out there as you lose yourself in this book.

I highly recommend this book.

Loved this. Carole Matthews is always an enjoyable read and this is no exception. Maybe this book went a liiiiiittle bit overboard with the Gary Barlow fan club stuff but it was still quite charming. I enjoyed most of the Take That bits and reading about Ruby and Charlie's friendship as well as Ruby's love life woes.

All in all a good cozy read.
