Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

I am not leaving a review due to the fact that this book did not interest me enough to finish the story.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

This book archived before I had a chance to read it. But I was really interested in it, so I bought the kindle version.
Because this was a final printed copy I was surprised to see a spelling error, at the end of Chapter 35 the word "maybe" is spelled "maye"

Given 18 months to life Nick visits a hypnotist in a last ditch effort to quit drinking.
But when he taps into a life that is not his, into memories that are not his, he is lead down a road of atonement for crimes that are not his.

I enjoyed the story and the writing, I like chapters with alternating view points.
Although the author tries to throw a couple curve balls, it is very predictable.
but it was a fast and enjoyable read.

This was such a good read. The ending was suspenseful and unexpected, I couldn't read it fast enough. I loved Ireland setting, that was a fun touch. It kept me guessing and that's exactly what I want from a thriller. It's fast paced and filled with twists and turns.

Nick is an alcoholic who turns to hypnosis to help him stop but while under he sees something that will change the lives of the 3 main characters. I liked the hypnosis elements, it's unique. I found it easy to follow the three characters and transitions between past and present.

Very good suspenseful story. Peoples lives will change forever. People will meet through strange circumstances. Nick is trying to stop drinking because he needs a new liver. He winds up at a hypnotist. He has a girlfriend Michele who will stand by him.

This book's premise was interesting but a little too complex for me...I got confused with how the characters were connected in the book and found the 3 main characters to be unlikeable, which kind of ruined it for me. I wasn't rooting for any of them which made me feel like I wasn't really invested in what was happening. I felt that the ending/conclusion of the book was very rushed...
Thank you Harper Collins for an Advanced Reader copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Nick is an alcoholic who has been given a death sentence by his doctors ... if he doesn't stop drinking, he has less than a year left. He's resolved to get his life back and goes to a therapist to undergo hypnosis to help curb his cravings.

But while under with eyes closed, he sees something that absolutely petrifies him.

What he sees will change the lives of 3 people ...himself, his fiancee, and his fiance's new friend.

The chapters go back and forth between these main characters... some past, some present. Normally this type of writing can be confusing, but the author has made it very easy to follow.

But beware .... everything you see may not be the truth. There are long-buried secrets, plenty of lies and betrayals leading to an unexpected ending.

Many thanks to the author / HarperCollins UK / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Psychological Thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I wasn't too impressed with this book. Half-way through I started skimming because I wanted to know what happened, but was bored of the story and dialogue. The ending was really ridiculous and I didn't like it at all.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the book in exchange for an honest review.
I read the book through until the end and I just wasn’t convinced about the previous life and Nick being Caitlin’s father. He was an alcoholic and needed a liver transplant. The writing was good and the storytelling was good, I just didn’t really like it that much.

Thankyou to NetGalley, HarperCollinsUK, HarperImpulse and the author, Tanya Farrelly, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of When Your Eyes Close in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.
I thought this book offered a good read. The plot was well thought out and written and the characters were intriguing. 3.5 stars.
Well worth a read for fans of the genre.

This book was a bit of a great book and not so good book. It's one that I think you definitely have to have a right mindset to read it, or you just will not get what the author likely hoped readers would get. I think that it was written good at times and other times it needed more work. Will let Chapter Chatter Pub members know to give it a shot!

Very realistic and believable storyline! I loved the concept of this book and the plot will keep you hooked the entire way through. You will be rushing to see how this story all pans out.

The whole past life regression concept of hypnosis didn’t seem believable to me. While it was interesting to read the climax felt rushed. The plot was complex and needed careful reading. The main characters are not really likeable.

When Your Eyes Close is a psychological thriller that unfortunately had me battling at times to finish it even though the storyline is good and I feel a lot of people will like this but it wasn’t for me.
Nick is an alcoholic and unless he is clean for six months he can’t be put on the list for a new liver that he desperately needs as his life expectancy at the moment is twelve months. As Nick is struggling to give up the booze he decides to try hypnosis. Whilst under hypnosis he has a strange experience and becomes almost obsessed in finding out the truth.
As a character I wasn’t keen on Nick and maybe this was the problem although I did like Michelle, his girlfriend and the other main character, Caitlin and it was because of these characters that i managed to finish the book. I had high hopes for this and am almost sorry I didn’t enjoy it totally as it should have been right up my street.
I would like to thank Netgalley and HarperImpulse, Killer Reads for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

This was different then any book I have read. I almost passed it up because of the three intertwined stories, not sure if I would be able to follow every story but I thought this was an interesting book. I am glad that I did read it. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this.

"These three people’s lives are set to collide. And as long-buried secrets, lies and betrayals come to light, they will be lucky to escape unscathed…"

I was a little apprehensive reading this one because of how many main characters it included, but I was able to keep track of which character was which. I enjoyed reading each characters point of view and seeing how they were all connected. This is a great weekend read that promises suspense!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

Having loved the Girl Behind the Lens, I was looking forward to Tanya Farrelly's next book. I was intrigued by the description of the book as I like reading about hypnosis, and this novel didn't disappoint.
This is an engaging pacey psychological thriller told from various points of view. The narrative held my attention early on and didn't let go until I finished the whole book.

I didn't have problems keeping track of the characters as the writing is clear and engaging without being unnecessary wordy or repetitive. I was also pleased with the unpredictability of the plot and thought that the ending didn't leave loose ends.

All in all I highly recommend this novel as it isn't only exciting and entertaining, but also tackles several social dilemmas in modern Ireland which provided some food for thought. I will be eagerly anticipating the author's next offering.

My thanks go to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
