I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This, like all of the books in the Eternity Springs series, is a very heart-
warming story. I liked it very much.
I love the chemistry between Caitlin and Josh even though Josh only wants a fling. Such a funny and romantic story by Emily March!!! Read and enjoy!!!
This was a very cute story, the chemistry between Caitlin and Josh was off the charts, I was happy they were able to work through all their issues and find their HEA
I loved this book so much. Here is a case where I really wish Goodreads gave us the ability to rate a book with half stars. This would definitely be a 4 and a half stars. 4 stars just feels to low, but 5 stars is just a bit too high. Hopefully by the time I finish this review, I decide whether to give this 4 or 5 stars. This book is somewhat more serious and deep than many of her previous books, but is still full of the magic that is Eternity Springs. Many of the characters from the previous books make appearances. I look forward to the next book in the series that I believe comes out in the fall to prepare us for the holiday season. I really like that although this is a long series, each book can also stand on its own without a new reader being confused.
I would like to thank St. Martin's Press, NetGalley and the author for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When you come to Eternity Springs you know that the characters will be recovering from tragedy. It's a given. They have to be able to "earn their wings" We all watched Caitlyn grow up so she really didnt have anything too tragic, Josh on the other hand, whew! Emily sure put him through the wring.
LOVE the meet-cute ( they meet on a mountain gondola that gets stuck, with his wheelchair bound dog along for the ride). I enjoyed this one very much!
This was my first time reading anything by Emily March, and it was a tad slow for me starting out, but I did get into the story and really loved Josh and Caitlin. I could have done with less of the journal entries. Josh and Caitlin have great chemistry throughout the story, and I'm more than likely going to go back and read the other books in the series just because the other characters seemed really interesting.
What a amazing Emotional book. This was a first read for me from this Author. I will be going back and reading the rest of the series. This book was very emotional touching on many different emotions. Love, hate, hurt, healing. Josh has had a ruff life and seems to get knocked down everytime things seem to be going right. Caitlin has had a great life and career but it’s missing joy. When she meets Josh things all seem to fit into place. She just has to convince him.
A 5 start read and have your tissue ready.
I received a advanced copy for a voluntary honest review.
The First Kiss of Spring is another winner in the Eternity Springs series for books. I have enjoyed each of the books I’ve read in the Eternity Springs series to date. I know I am guaranteed a sweet and emotional romance and The First Kiss of Spring have me what I was looking for.
I adored both Caitlin and Josh from the moment we met them both. I loved how they just clicked from their very first meeting. They had really great chemistry and yet they maintained a sweetness to their relationship as well.
I loved how Caitlin knew what she wanted to do and moved home to make her dreams come true, even when her parents didn’t see eye to eye with her decision. I didn't love they questioned Caitlin's decision because her dream wasn't their dream. I understood their concern for Caitlin changing careers, but wanted them to support her decision faster. I also hated to see her parents were keeping secrets about her dad's health from Caitlin and her brothers, but understood their need to know what was going on before sharing the news.
I was glad to see Caitlin had Josh in her corner along with so many friends in Eternity Springs. I absolutely adored seeing Caitlin and Josh grow closer and closer the more time they spent together and it kind of broke my heart when Josh started pushing Caitlin away rather than being honest about his issues. I got he was embarrassed about what he was going through, but I hated seeing him push Caitlin away rather than let her know what was really going on with him. I actually fell a bit more for him once he was honest about everything he was struggling with than when he seemed perfect.
The First Kiss of Spring was a sweet and emotion filled romance that gave me all the feels. Emily March has become a go-to author for me since I discovered this series and I look forward to each new book she writes. I highly recommend her books to readers who love emotion filled romances.
Rating: 4 Stars (B)
This book has that small town feel with a cast of characters you grow to love, I especially loved Celeste with her sayings and predictions and charms, but I have a sneaking suspicion she was responsible for Caitlin finding out Josh’s secret..
Josh and Caitlin’s love story was a wonderful read from their beginning when they first met and got stuck on a gondola together through all the good times and rough patches right to the awesome ending, no cliffhanger here, thank you Emily!
This book shows up the struggles of being an addict and how the important people stand by you.
Caitlin has a good life she comes home to open a business.
Josh is a mechanic with a shop and has an addictive past.
A chance meeting between the two of them turns into a deep friendship. When a tragedy occurs it will tear them apart. What happens after everything clears.
Reading about what they both are going through do to his past addiction showing its ugly face was something that really pulled me in. This storyline was hit exactly as it should be.

This book is part of series so if you have not read other books you will get lost. This book is not meant to read as a stand alone!
AS always a hit with me. Love visiting Eternity Springs. I always get lost in the story and want to stay there. Highly recommend
A perfect romance for those who enjoy their stories low on major angst. The characters had great chemistry and lots of banter.
Caitlin Timberlake was thrilled to be a bridesmaid for her friend, and was delighted that the wedding was to be held in her native Colorado. While waiting for the rest of the wedding party, Caitlin took a gondola ride to sightsee, and shared the car with a handsome young man named Josh who had his disabled dachshund, Penny, with him. Caitlin felt an instant connection with Josh, and asked him to be her date at the wedding. After sharing a steamy kiss with Josh at the reception, Caitlin was thoroughly embarrassed to have been caught by her parents, who lived in nearby Eternity Springs. When she discovered that Josh’s automotive repair shop was also in Eternity Springs, it solidified her decision to quit her job in New York and return home to open a day care center.
Josh Tarkington had a complicated life with a chaotic upbringing, and had long ago decided he would never enter into another relationship. There was something about Caitlin that stayed with him, and when she happened to buy the house next to his for her day care center, he worried about even entering into a friendship with her because of his ongoing string of bad luck.
I’ve read several Eternity Springs books, and appreciated the opportunity to catch up with the Callahan family and the other residents of Eternity Springs. Caitlin is a strong, determined woman who knew exactly what she wanted and had a plan to get it. Josh was also determined, but he wanted to completely bury the pain of his past and create a new life for himself. This was a feel good story, an HEA with the loving support of the town, and I enjoyed it very much.
3.5 Stars
I've only read one other book in this series which I also enjoyed so I'm very comfortable saying this book can be enjoyed as a stand alone. Eternity Springs is a fun, small town with lots of interesting characters. Caitlin was a great heroine who I really liked. She was strong and courageous and when she made up her mind and went after it she gave it her all. I also liked Josh but I don't think I was expecting the backstory that came with him. He's a damaged hero with an intense background that just made you hurt for him. While the reader only got glimpses of his past it was enough that you could understand his reticence in being in a relationship and really had me rooting for his happy ending. The book has its lighthearted and humorous moments but it also has some darker elements with more emotion. Caitlin and Josh definitely have some hurdles to get through before they can be together and their are some ups and downs between the two of them. They are very different but I thought the romance between the two of them worked well. If you like damaged heroes and courageous heroines then give this one a try.
I was taking a chance on this author simply by seeing the cover. I love it and it drew my attention to reading the blurb. I got the book and of course didn’t realize it was a series and not the first one in the series. I didn’t feel completely lost by not reading the other books in this series first. But there is some mention of other characters and possible spoilers from the first books.
Catlin is ready to come back home and be closer to her family. She has job she is good at in New York City but she is ready to settle down and wants to be closer to her family. Her family is one of the founding families of Eternity Springs.
John comes to Eternity Springs to hideout. He is running from his past. He was a likeable hero who you couldn’t help but hope would figure things out. He was afraid of loving someone.
This was a sweet story that had some things that surprised me. This book had the perfect amount of steam and was a quick easy feel good read.
It's refreshing to read a book where the hero is not fully over his problems and lapses during the story. This is true for Josh and his journey from stardom to being a mechanic in small Eternity Springs. Caitlin has had enough of big city life and after being in a wedding party near her home town she decides to return and open a day care. As these two navigate some pretty intense problems they realize that together they are stronger than apart. This series is well written and each book can stand alone but always gives an update or two on previous couples. The story is written with Caitlin's journal entry's mixed within the book. I've read several of the previous books, this is # 14.
Caitlin Timberlake has a brief, romantic meeting with Josh Tarkington when she returns to Colorado from New York to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. When chance and her suspicious father interrupt their almost-romance, Josh returns to his automotive repair business, and Caitlin continues her plans to move back to her home town and start a new business, a day care center.
Caitlin's home town, and the location of Josh's car repair business, are the same: Eternity Springs.
Caitlin has had limited romantic success, and her father, Judge Mac Timberlake, is convinced no one is good enough for his little girl. Josh has his own reasons, and his own carefully hidden history, for avoiding anything but casual relationships with no commitment.
They have, of course, no chance of avoiding each other, especially after the perfect location for Caitlin's daycare proves to be a lovely, large, old house next to Josh's garage. There's also no chance that Josh's secrets won't come back to haunt them both, or that Mac Timberlake's own secret won't create its own problems.
The relationships, and the network of extended relationships in Eternity Springs, are mostly very well done. Starting at book #14 in the series is a challenge, but I found it not too difficult to just go with the flow and let the background gradually come together.
I don't want to say too much about Josh's background, but some of it is the story of a dysfunctional family that rang very true for me. That's not the whole story, though, and the rest is interesting, too.
I liked the characters, both the main ones and the network of background characters, and I'll likely be looking for earlier books in the series.
Recommended.
I received a free electronic galley of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.
Easy to tell that this was part of a series (several confusing connection lists between people like "begats" in the Bible), but I didn't realize it was the 14th.
The first chapter is solid, but then we are tossed a mysterious journal entry--no idea who is writing it and when the entry was written--and after a few more such inserts, I found them more annoying than intriguing.
I hate criticizing other romance writers because I expect karma will bite me on the butt for it someday. But I wouldn't be honest if I said that I liked this book much. Criticism: Lectures pass for dialogue. A box of silver bars is found in the attic and never is mentioned again? Really?! (I'm guessing it will show up in the next book.) The story often plods. The tone is uneven, with the content of the journals being so much darker than a typical sweet romance, and the level of "sizzle detail" varying widely as well. Many times dialogue went on for too long, with someone saying the same thing three times. Praise: Loved the dialogue and relationship between Caitlin and her brother.
I finished it only because I got it from NetGalley and felt obligated to keep reading.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It held my attention and was full of great characters!
My only regret is that I had not read any previous books in the series! I think that would have helped me to understand some of the back stories better.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.
