A good story and both of the main characters have issues and so they begin to think that they can use the other one to get past the issues that they have. yet they find that the passion that they have in the bedroom is more and it actually could lead to something if they get out of each other's way. I thought this was a very good book and liked the characters also.
Leveled is the second installment of the Blue Bay Crew by Cathryn Fox.
Even though Leveled show the past characters from the first installment, I would say, you don’t need to read the first book since it mainly focuses on Jamie and Kylee who are the main characters.
Jamie Owens hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to high class women. He’s gotten burned multiple times that he knows it’s best to stay away from those who come from money. However, when he sees Kylee Jensen he can’t believe how quick he’s willing to break his rule.
Kylee is sick and tired of being the “obedient” daughter. She wants to be able to make mistakes and rash decisions for once. When she meets Jamie, she’s able to be herself and enjoy her hobby of making clothes. The romance between them is quick and steady you’d think nothing could go wrong, but soon Jamie and Kylee will be tested.
Is Jamie about to get burned once again, or will Kylee step up and show support where it’s needed?
Leveled was a fast pace book which was fine, however, I didn’t like the development with Jamie and Kylee in the beginning. It seemed more like a fling even though just a few pages ago, we were told about Jamie’s problems with other women who’ve come from money. Also, even though the sex scenes were there, I didn’t feel any chemistry between the two. It was an alright book, but I wasn’t invested in the characters.
If you’re looking for a fast and easy read, I would suggest checking out Leveled.
Cathryn Fox's Leveled is a wonderful addition to the Blue Bay Crew series. It was super sexy and hard to put down.
Great sequel to the first! Can't wait to see which brother is next. I hope there is a 3rd to keep learning the family dynamics. Great summer read!
This was a fantastic steamy read!!!! The story line and characters where fantastic!
Kylee was sick to death of being told what to do. Tired of being under her father’s thumb she is anxious to finally break free and has her eyes on the man who will do the job. Jamie is adamant about not falling into her trap. He tries to remain strong but he slowly loses his grip and experiences that moment of absolute bliss. Two souls that yearn to be more than they are and finally achieving their dreams. Will they let go and break free and spread their wings? Absolutely loved the instant chemistry between the two characters and sometimes realizing that you have to take that tentative first step to truly be happy.
I loved this book so much more than the first in the series! Loved reading about the Owens boys' grandmother who was back to her meddling ways. Loved catching up with all the Owens boys again.
A cute little love story that was fairly predictable but still interesting none the less. I loved how Jaime fought his attraction to Kylee and the reason he fought it. Kylee's relationship with her father was an interesting one; I couldn't imagine living with a man so controlling. I think it would have been interesting to see more of that.

Book #2: Blue Bay Crew Series
Source: Netgalley
My Rating: 4/5 stars
I have no idea what’s in the water in Blue Bay, but it sure produces some beautiful, hard-bodied bad boys looking to settle down and behave. Lickable, right?
Jamie Owens has one rule, avoid rich girls looking for a little fun on the other side of the tracks. When he was a much younger man, Jamie played that game with the wrong girl, and all it earned him was time in jail on a false rape charge. Experience is the most valuable of teachers, and Jamie learned his lesson well. For years, Jamie hasn’t had a bit of difficulty abiding by his one rule. However, for all those years, he didn’t know Kylee Jensen existed.
Blue Bay is Kylee Jensen’s last hurrah before she returns to the life her father wants for her. Thanks to her father’s coercion, Kylee is a lawyer and not a fashion designer; thanks to her father’s coercion, Kylee is associated with a man she has no interest in nor attraction to and; thanks to her father’s coercion, Kylee is going to be saddled with a life she doesn’t want rather than forging her own path. However, in the months before all the awful comes crashing down around her, Kylee is going to enjoy her summer and the hot construction worker next door looks like the precise kind of enjoyment Kylee needs and wants.
From the moment he sees Kylee, Jamie’s instincts war against one another. One instinct says to stay far, far away from the hot, rich girl, and the other says to run straight toward her and regret nothing. Unfortunately, that second instinct is backed up by Jamie’s libido and in no time flat he finds himself in Kylee’s bed. From the outset, the ground rules are in place: this is nothing more than sex, Kylee is leaving at the end of the summer, and Jamie is not the kind of man you bring home to daddy. Once the understandings are in place and agreed upon, the sexcapades begin in earnest and holy hell are they hot!
Though neither Kylee nor Jamie are keen to take their arrangement public, it isn’t for the reason either would suspect. Jamie is struggling with his feelings for Kylee and that makes him incredibly nervous given his history. He doesn’t want his past to color his future, especially given his growing and very real feelings for Kylee. He knows if they go public, she’s going to find out about him and that is as terrifying as his actual feelings. For Kylee’s part, revealing her “relationship” with Jamie would mean opening herself up to more pain than she knows she’s going to experience when her fling comes to an end and she is forced to leave Blue Bay. Furthermore, she isn’t at all embarrassed by Jamie, but he’s right, Jamie isn’t the guy she introduces to her father, and that has everything to do with her father’s attitude and control over her life and not Jamie.
As so often happens when there are secrets and very little verbal communication, all the secrets come crashing to the forefront in one spectacular public display. Kylee’s father and her “fiancé” come to town unannounced and Jamie’s past is outed with little to no preamble. In fact, Jamie and Kylee are both so surprised by the revelations that neither is surprised when everything falls apart. To be sure, both are incredibly hurt, but neither is particularly surprised.
The Bottom Line: Here’s the deal, Leveled is all about the sexcapades and while that would normally cause me to grumble, it makes sense to the characters in this particular read. Both Kylee and Jamie agree to a sex-only arrangement, and boy do they make the most of the time they have with one another. It isn’t really until the end of the book that the story takes precedent over the sex. Depending on where you land on this issue, you’re either going to love this book or hate it, and I don’t see a great deal of in between. Having read the first book in the series, I went into this one with my eyes wide open and suspecting the high-count sex scenes which means I wasn’t disappointed. I got what I expected and enjoyed the ride. 😊
This is a smoking hot romance by Cathryn Fox! Leveled is the second book in the series and Jamie and Kylee's love story.
Jamie doesn't trust women especially rich ones who live off their father's money and don't take life seriously. He's back in town trying to help his family run the family business and is working on opening his own tattoo shop when he stumbles upon Kylee sunbathing.
Kylee is enjoying her much needed break at her family's vacation home before starting her high stress job in the fall at her father's law firm. Having the Owen's family redo her back deck is an added bonus because Jamie is definitely worth watching while he is working and as an added bonus he is nothing life the man that her father has picked out for her to marry.
Their attraction to one another is what draws them together, but they soon realize that there is more to them and their relationship than what is just on the outside.
This was one steamy, sexy, fun and romantic read! The twist was a bit expected but still well done as well as the angst it added to the end of the story. I enjoyed this book very much. 3.5/5

This book has just the right amount of steam, drama, smut, and intrigue to make it a good read. It can definitely be read as a standalone without any confusion.
Jamie and Summer meet when Jamie is working a construction project next door to Summer’s new home for the summer. The attraction is immediate between the two, but Jamie’s been burned recently by a “rich girl just looking for some fun” and is very leery about getting involved with Summer, though that doesn’t deter her. Summer is determined to have some fun before going back home and joining her father’s law firm. What starts out as just a fling quickly turns into something more, but Jamie is still hesitant to trust that Summer is honest.
Both Jamie and Summer have their own thing going on throughout the book and I found that refreshing – though their stories were intertwined of course, it almost felt like you were getting two stories in one. I really like all the characters, and Summer and Jamie’s relationship is the sweetest. My least favorite part of this book has to be that the author really harps on Jamie being the “poor little rich girl” and Jamie being such a “tatted up bad boy,” it was beyond cliché and took away from the story a bit. Also, it was a bit lengthy and drug on in the middle.

This is an easy holiday read about a local carpenter who falls for a rich girl who buys a beachfront cottage in his hometown.
This story includes many of my favourite romance tropes: big family of brothers, a holiday fling, and a loveable, blue collar, tattoo artist/carpenter. I should have loved this book, but I really struggled to finish it.
For me, Jamie and Summer felt like types rather than real people. I found their cutesy intimate conversations off putting, not sensual. I still don’t understand how/why Summer instantly becomes part of Jamie’s family. And the pacing drove me mad. Jamie and Summer rush into a fling, spend 80% of the book shagging each other while not really communicating and resisting any sort of commitment. It’s only really in the last twenty or thirty pages that anything actually happens.
My reaction might just be a personal one. Again, this had all the elements of a story I should have loved but I couldn’t connect with the characters or their romance at all.
A delectable romance series, Leveled is book two in the Blue Bay Crew series by Cathryn Fox. Book one, Demolished, was such a fun read, I knew I wanted to read this book!
Jamie Owens has been called back to Blue Bay by his brother Sean. His father passed, and Sean needs all of the family to return home to save dad's flailing construction business. Everybody has been away doing their own thing. For Jamie, he learned the art of tattooing, and is rather good at it. Slowly the crew is returning and taking their place within the family construction business.
Jamie knows he cannot fall for any trust fund beauties that vacation in Blue Bay. He just can't trust them. Considered from the wrong side of town, he was burned by one when he was younger, and he paid the price. Although one look at Kylee Jensen in her tiny bikini and Jamie just can't stay away!
I have really enjoyed reading about the brothers in the Blue Bay Crew series! They all have family dinner on Sunday's with Gram-whose a force to reckon with! She kept these boys in line growing up, and there isn't a thing any one of them wouldn't do for her! She's also a bit of a matchmaker. She invites the newest tourist to the area for Sunday dinner. Kylee is that girl this time and all the guys-Jamie included-are bumbling around her. Jamie doesn't want to tip his hand, but Kylee is his and he will make them all back off, lol!
Kylee is a lawyer and poised to join her father's law practice at the end of summer. Not what she would've dreamed for her life though. She is a clothing designer, but dad said her designs were unsaleable, so she needed to practice law. She's always done whatever her dad wanted, even to her detriment. She's up in Blue Bay for the summer before doomsday hits, and her life goes to crap!
Given the cottage by her dad for a graduation present, Kylee decides to have some construction renovations done. Jamie turns out to be the carpenter on the job. Their attraction goes molten and it isn't just the daytime Jamie is spending with Kylee. Talk about scorch the sheets hot! Before either realize, their little summer affair is so much more. And they are in deep! But both have a few secrets......
Is what Kylee and Jamie have worth fighting for? You'll just have to take my word for it and read this book! You'll be glad you did!
I received an arc from Netgalley. This book was well written and I definitely felt the connection between Jamie and Kylee. Instant attraction between them and loved the close knit family feel of this book.
Very clever ending there by the author and using the “I will” at the end. My heart dropped there for a moment but The author pulls out the HEA ending. 4 stars
This book was both cute and sexy. I love how Jamie helped Kylee find her true self and at the same time find something that he thought he would never have. I thought the ending was a little unrealistic and too quick for my taste, but as a whole this is a great book.

If you're looking for a fast, sexy read, Leveled might just do the trick. It's part of the Blue Bay Crew series, but could be read as a stand alone.
I am a fan of Cathryn Fox's writing; I really appreciate the depth of her characters and the way she incorporates passion in her writing as well as humor. Leveled, like it's predecessor Demolished, centers on a member of the Owens family and their construction business. If you like family centered series, set in small towns and including definite romance and passion, you might want to read this series. I would compare it in style to Sawyer Bennet and Kate Canterbary. I look forward to the next installment.

There are books that are exactly what they claim, and this is one of them. It was a quick, hot read.
It was also well written, with characters you like and a romantic story that was not only believable but one that you were able to engage with.
Jamie and Kylee are from 2 different worlds. A rich attorney summering in a nice house, and a construction worker with a murky past. But, the things about them that should have made them a bad fit were exactly the things that made them work.
I liked that while there was an acknowledgement of their different worlds, it wasn't the most important part of their story. They got to know, and like, one another and because of this, you feel like them ending up together makes sense, and that it is only slightly because they were a relationship that wasn't supoosed to work.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
Sext romance. Starts out hot and doesn’t quite. Enjoyable plot with with likable H/h. Lots of steamy chemistry between the two. Great family dynamics with the construction company. Worth the read.
Here we are back in Blue Bay.
I had a hard time with Kylee I felt that even though she was trying to do something for herself she had some serious Daddy issues. I also thought the chemistry with Jamie was off the wall, and the end of the book was coming i wanted to punch her in the face. Which is why I gave this 4 stars.
If I can have that much emotion toward a character that makes the book for me.
I do not recommend to under 18 but the book is worth it.

If you are looking for a quick steamy, hot read then this is the book for you. While this book had potential it just fell short for me. I do love the dynamic of Jamie’s family though, you feel welcome and a part of them.
