Just WOW!! This is a new to me author and it certainly won't be the last book I read by her!! This is book 3 in the Lawless Kings series and even though I haven't read books 1 and 2, I wasn't lost at all!!
Van King and his brother Hunter owned the King Agency, a P.I. firm. Zeke is employed by them, and he also went to high school and served with Van. Zeke is a bad a$$ ex-Navy SEAL with a lot of PTSD, anger and guilt! He's always in control except once he wasn't during war and it cost two of his buddies their lives. All because he'd grown to trust a kid that one day had bombs attached to him...it was that hesitation that messed him up. He doesn't care day to day if he lives or dies...the guilt of living is just too much sometimes. All of that is about to change one night when a hot woman sees him and they decide to have a one-night stand. He can't feel, he can't love anyone so why not have one night of hot sex? However, his world is about to be turned upside down.........
Sunny wears her dad's wedding ring on her thumb and constantly twist it..reassuring herself she doesn't need anyone. She's not close to her dad, her step mom or her step sister. She wants to be close to her step sister but all that girl wants from Sunny is money, of which Sunny gives her every time! She meets Zeke and goes totally out of character for her and has a one-night stand. She gives him everything she has....just for one night.
This book is very hot, dangerous, has twist and turns!! Some of it was predictable, but I love how each author I read puts their "spin" on the scenario!! Great story, I'll have to go back and read books 1 and 2!!
This book is a standalone within the Lawless Kings series. It can be read as a standalone but does contain all the other characters from this series.
This time around its about Zeke one of the boys and Sunny.
Zeke has lost his trust in woman and himself. His past has taken over his present actions, causing him not to find love because he doesn't feel he deserves any happiness surviving the war where his friends didn't.
Meeting Sunny was a breath of fresh air and gave him light within his dark world. At first it was just supposed to be sex with no attachments, but then a scare comes Sunny's way causing Sunny to come into his professional world and rocking his personal world in the way.
It was sweet and suspensful
Can't wait for Ruthless Protector
Imagine never feeling really loved by the remaining family you have left. Constantly seen as a bank when all you wanted was some form of an emotional attachment. Friends...she didn’t have them. A man in her life...he left. Everyone always left. That was until Sunny finally found Zeke. The love he begin to share with Sunny allows him to finally feel free to live his life and leave his skeletons in the past where they belonged.
Zeke is probably one of the more closed off characters in this series. Guilt and PTSD keep him busy so he holes them up behind the walls he builds around himself. Sunny too is broken and disillusioned in her own way. But to Zeke, she is as bright as a ray of sunshine in his dark, dismal world. One night with her is not enough but it just has to be because he can give her nothing more. When she is attacked in her own home, she somehow finds her way into Zeke's PI Agency.
Now with her safety on the line, Zeke finds himself ready to take a bullet for her. And this shows a side of Zeke that you'd never expect. Man, I wanted my own Zeke after I read this book. The romance may be gritty and raw but the feelings are true. These two are tuned in to each other so well. And one of my favorite parts about this book is that they are some awesome dialogues and ponderations, each one soul searching and insightful into the relationship that develops between them.
The last two in the series were amazing, and this one also hooked me right from the beginning.
Beautiful Killer didn’t have the same intensity as the other books in the series, but that worked for me. I really liked the love story between Sunny and Zeke. Definitely check out this series, and Gray’s other books as well. I love her writing! 3.5/5
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
An absolutely amazing read that will pull at your heartstrings. Zeke....your heart will break for him. Not only for what he went through but for what he is going through now because of what he went through before. I loved his protective nature over Sunny.
Sunny was strong, but broken. Years of feeling like no one wanted her has decreased her self esteem until it's nearly non existent. She didn't feel like she deserved to be treated right.
The only thing holding back this book from being a 5 star was that I felt the "who did it" was fairly obvious. I'm not sure why no one thought to look at this person before.
Absolutely fabulous!! Zeke is the ultimate alpha male and so broody; he's the perfect compliment to Sunny's light. Packed with lots of angst, sexiness and suspense, this is a page turner you won't want to put down.

I received an ARC from Sourcebooks Casablanca via netgalley.
This is my first time reading a Ms. Lyons book and it started off great but then slowly as it progressed lost it's steam. I loved the characters and the plot but as I read I felt like I'm missing something. Maybe it's because this is the 3rd book in a series and I haven't read the first two.
I voluntarily read and advanced review copy of this book
This book was beautiful! I loved both Sunny and Zeke and the relationship that they built together. I also really liked that they were not perfect. Zeke had so much weight on his shoulders you could tell that he just wanted his suffering to end. Sunny wanted so much to be loved she spends most of her life letting people walk all over her. But in the end they make each other stronger....smarter...and while some parts are predictable others will blow your mind.
Overall a great book. I laughed...I cried... and was angry at all of the right times... for all of the right reasons. This book definitely checks off all the boxes. Great job Sherilee Gray!
Sherilee Gray continues her steamy series Lawless Kings with BEAUTIFUL KILLER, a passionate suspense focusing on an optimistic woman who always gives life a second chance and a man broken by his circumstances and struggling to make it through another day. It’s angsty, it’s sexy and it’s addictive.
Zeke Stanton is another of Gray’s archetypal heroes: tortured, quiet, strong and protective. He can’t catch a break. Returning from a brutal deployment as a Navy SEAL sniper, finding solace from his pregnant fiancée is what he’s supposed to do. Only, when he walks in, he finds her no longer pregnant and in the arms of another man. And he just … shuts down. Walks out and takes his friend Van up on an offer to join the King Agency, a private investigation firm Van owns with his brother, Hunter, whose book is Shattered King (Lawless Kings #1). A year later, Zeke is still struggling with grief and blame, so close to self-destruction … until he meets Sunny.
Sunny’s mom died when she was young. As she grew up, she was overlooked by her father and ignored by her stepmother and stepsister, wondering if “they’d love me if I was prettier, or funnier, or smarter.” In a room full of people, Sunny was always alone. But when Sunny’s apartment is broken into, her new friends Lulu and Ruby urge her to turn to the King Agency for help. Talk about a surprise when Zeke walks into the meeting as one of the agents. Sunny was able to let him go once, understanding the nature of their physical relationship … but relying on him for safety is wreaking havoc on her ability to protect her heart. Particularly since he’s unable to declare how much he also loves her.
Gray has a knack for balancing characters. Whereas Zeke is broken and at his darkest, lowest point in life, Sunny is bright and positive and hopeful. Balance is important, particularly when it involves something as delicate as psyche. It’s what allows The Force to flow through the universe, creates the perfect vinaigrette and develops tension in great fiction. In the case of Zeke and Sunny, balance is what develops when you reach out in the darkness, and someone is there to take your hand. This is not your mother’s romance, that’s for sure. It’s gritty and dark, and intensely sexy. I can’t wait to see what romantic fates befall the rest of the men of the King Agency.

Another fantastic book by this amazing author. She really knows how to write a story to have you captivated the whole way through her books and this one is no different. It has a fantastic storyline which pulls you in, loads of action to keep you on your edge of your seat and amazing characters that are not just likeable but relatable too. The romance just makes this book a 5 star when it’s thrown together with everything else in this story. I definitely be coming back for more by this author she is one of the best authors out there in this genre. I would highly recommend
BEAUTIFUL KILLER is the third instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult LAWLESS KINGS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for King Agency doing personal protection and security, private investigation (corporate and domestic) and high-risk fugitive recovery, missing persons and kidnapping investigations. This is King Security PI, sniper and ex Navy SEAL Zeke Stanton, and jewelry designer Sunny’s story line. BEAUTIFUL KILLER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Sunny and Zeke) BEAUTIFUL KILLER follows the unconventional relationship between PI and sniper Zeke Stanton, and jewelry designer Sunny. When her blind date was a no-show Sunny propositioned the stranger at the bar, a man so intense and dark, she couldn’t help but be attracted like a moth to a flame. Enter Zeke Stanton, broken and embattled ex-Navy SEAL whose demons continue to ride him hard. What ensues is the sex only arrangement between our leading couple that grows into something following an attack on our heroine by an unknown assailant. Left alone, and with no where to turn Sunny approaches the security specialists at King Agency only to come face to face with the man with whom she was falling in love.
Zeke Stanton is a broken man, an ex-Navy SEAL who suffers nightmares, PTSD and survivors remorse following the last mission that went all to h*ll. Working for high school friend and fellow Navy SEAL Van King, Zeke continues to place himself in dangerous situations while on assignment, with the possibility of never coming home alive. Meeting the beautiful and talented Sunny begins to melt the ice around our hero’s heart but Zeke wants nothing to do with family or relationships forcing a stricken Sunny to move forward, alone.
The relationship between Sunny and Zeke begins as a one-night stand that turns into something more. Zeke wants nothing to do with a forever kind of love but he finds himself unable to walk away from the woman that calls to his heart. Days, weeks and months of emotionless $ex begin to push at our story line couple until news of a different sort finds Sunny at a crossroads towards the future. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting characters including Hunter King and Lulu Frost (Shattered King #1), and Neco Malik and Ruby Styles (Broken Rebel #2), and co-owner of the King Agency Van King. We are introduced to Sunny’s step-sister Julia and her husband Bobby Grant, as well as Zeke’s parents Ron and Jane Stanton.
BEAUTIFUL KILLER is an emotional story line of one man who is unable to move on from the past, and one woman whose history of rejection continues to push her forward-alone. The premise is heart breaking and impassioned; the characters are charismatic but damaged; the romance is seductive and fierce.

Ex-sniper, Zeke is back from a stint overseas with the military. He lost some friends while on a mission and now is back with the hopes someone will take his own life. Sunny, has had a difficult childhood. With a step-mom and step sister from hell, Sunny lets people take advantage of her.
Zeke and Sunny get together for a one night stand, but it turns into more. When Zeke finds himself growing feelings for Sunny he backs away. Unfortunately Sunny is attacked and her and Zeke reconnect when Sunny asks for protection.
I have read the other books in this series and this one did not disappoint. I loved the drama and the romance between the two.
She’s Back! The third instalment of the Lawless Kings series by Sherilee Gray was great! The characters were emotionally driven and dynamic storyline was engaging. I look forward to more by this author
Beautiful Killer
Lawless Kings #3
Sherilee Gray
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can’t get enough of these alpha males in this series. Super sexy, strong ass main characters gets me every time. And of course they are super protective and loving of their women and families.
This was Zeke’s story. Very emotional and heart wrenching at times. He survived a horrible experience on his last deployment that gave him PTSD and some depression. He met Sunny at the perfect moment which saved his life.
This was another great story in this series and can’t wait for more. These all can be read as standalones also.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
This is !y first book by this author and I loved it. I'm excited to read more from this author
I am in the minority here so there is no real need to read the drivel that I have written. If you decide then read on but you have been warned.
When you’ve read your first book of the year you want it to start off with a bang this unfortunately was a poof. Maybe even a tendril of smoke.
2.5 I should know better stars.
It just didn’t work for me.
I had high hopes for this book. I thought I would get the tortured Hero alas I got an ar$ehole. Throughout all of the book he was an idiot. Yeah he had PTSD yes he was suffering but throughout all of this he had a death wish. Until Sunshine walked into a bar. Even then he was a git.
The heroine has been alone all her life and OMG was she a broken record. The repetitiveness of her situation got to be too much. She was alright with the scraps she got from the Hero right to the very end. What shouldn’t have happened, oh colour me surprised when it did happen. NOT.
I really do not know how the heroine could fall in love with him. I just didn’t see it. On top of that he didn’t really talk so the only thing they had for me was sexual chemistry.
The book could have easily been 20-30 pages shorter. There was so much push/pull that I had to skim. They were at an impasse yet they still went at it like rabbits. Cue eye roll right here.
At 29% of the book he could have manned up. HE didn’t though. HE left her hanging. He didn’t man up until the very end and that for me was too little too late. The ending felt rushed. The Epilogue was really sweet so that helped.
They had no contact for two months and then suddenly she realises she loves him at 44% when they meet again. They’ve hardly spoken to one another when they were banging. Puh-lease utter bollocks. The plot was also somewhat predictable.
When the author got into the swing of them talking and emotions entering the picture it picked up and could have been 4 stars for me. I was really enjoying it but then it went back to the inner monologue of these two and my interest slumped.
All in all 2.5 Stars for when it picked up, the concept of the story was okay and that I liked Sunny. Plus there was no other woman drama so that also helped. But it is either o/w drama, manwhores (also not the case here) or utter bastards. I’ve so had enough of it all.
This is just not an author for me.
So note to self-DO DO NOT request any more books.
I’ve read quite a few Sherilee Grey novels but so far Beautiful Killer is my favorite. I was hooked from the very beginning and loved every second of the emotional rollercoaster Zeke and Sunny took me on. Their differences complemented one another beautifully. Zeke is an psychologically damaged ex-sniper that’s dealing with some intense PTSD that he has no plans on fixing. He’s on a suicide mission that after meeting Sunny, he sees his first glimmer of light that he plans to bask in for a short time because he feels unworthy. Sunny feels unworthy of love because of the lack of affection from her upbringing but when she meets Zeke she sees a damage individual she’s willing to take whatever he’s willing to give. Zeke and Sunny’s journey to HEA is an emotional, soul wrenching, and beautiful. I really hope there will be more to this series because each novel gets better and better. Beautiful Killer is 5 stars for me.
Loved it! 4.5 stars. Wow! Beautiful writing and really well developed characters. This a sexy book. I loved the H/h and their hot connection. Both are damaged in their own way and need each other. A beautiful love story unfolds. Worth the read. This one is so good I’m going to read the others in the series. Thanks NetGalley.
Zeke is an ex military sniper with ptsd. Sunny is a woman who feels broken and is alone. These two had explosive chemistry. I loved this story. Be ready to shed tears, laugh and just feel good. An awesome job by this author, will be reading the others in this series.
I received an arc from netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
