This was a fun short story but nothing really too outstanding. The setting was interesting and the characters were likable, however I thought the plot was pretty predictable. Even the 'twist' at the end was something that I feel is pretty standard for these types of stories. I wish this would have been a longer book so we could get some more background on the world [steampunk version of Paris] and also on this 'plague' that is affecting people. The story is written as if the reader is from the world where it takes place so the narrator keeps saying things like 'but of course you know what happened' and I'm just like mmm, I don't though. Still, I did find Driscoll to be a very entertaining protagonist and it was a fun way to spend an hour or so.
